I have waited for this one! This, in my opinion, was the greatest debate slaying ever. And keep in mind, Gordon Stein was no pushover in his day. He was though of in the way our society looks at Dawkins, Hitchens, and Harris. An intellectual "genius".

@23:35 his description of what an aesthist is or what they believe in is simply not acccurate. Agnostics dont deny just dont believe...HE does NOT speak for all aethiests. Maybe that is his belief. Take a look around, I have seen for many years now many many people outright not only deny existence of God but mock those who do believe. I have heard debates where they do deny a God exists and push theories of how the world was created absent a God.

I pray that people know how dangerous it is to question their faith. People need to simply obey and do what they're told/taught. There's nothing more dangerous than becoming a doubter. Looking critically at the Bible is heresy. We need to blindly follow our personal ideas of what scripture means. To be a good Christian means abandoning your powers of reason and thought. Simply find a pastor who says things that make you feel better and give that pastor your time, energy and money. Most of all, learn to distrust and silence that tiny voice inside you that wants you to think for yourself. Praise! Glory!

But asking questions is one of the ways to grow in faith. It also brings you closer to God. Being a good Christian is not abandoning your powers of reason. God’s nature is of reason. A pastor that only makes you feel better isn’t fully equipping you for christian life. Because being a Christian isn’t just about being comfortable. There is a level of peace, yes, but there are burdens of doubts and of sin and of the fact that there are others who do not accept the gift of forgiveness yet. These burdens aren’t meant to be buried, but acted upon. The burden of sin should bring you to repentance and asking for the Holy Spirit to help you abandon your sin. The burden of doubts should cause you to seek answers. And the burden of unsaved souls should cause you to try to bring them to Christ and salvation from eternal death.
