Can we make 'Pause' on a timelapse with the GH5 ? I know with the G7 it's easy but I don't find the same way to do it...

Great Time Lapse Set - up help video. Does frame rate 60 vs 30 vs 24, mbps 200 vs 100 vs 50 , or rec time for those , make any difference since the final in cam video has choices like 4k@24p ?
@havinfun40145 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I normally do my timelapse as a post process. So basically just bring the photos into Adobe lightroom/premiere and go from there... grading and scaling the video and setting frame rate at that point. The in camera timelapse creation is fine if you dobt have a custom colour setting, otherwise you want to have an opportunity to colour grade the photos before create the final video. Being a time lapse i dont think there would be a noticeable difference between 24/30/60. I typically do 24fps for video so if my time lapse is part of that video i will set it at 24. The timelapse really comes down to what you photo settigs are aspect ratio and quality setting.

I'm new to Mirrorless cameras, do you use electronic shutter or mechanical shutter for timelapses?
@havinfun40144 жыл бұрын
Mechanical. I believe the G series Lumix all come defaulted to mechanical.

Do raw for sure

How does the shooting intervall correlate to shutter speed? 12 sec shooting intervall seemed like it had to do with a shutter speed of 10 secs but in your example you're on 20 sec (22 sec shooting interval?).
@havinfun40145 жыл бұрын
Yes, the extra interval is to allow the internal processes of the camera to complete before it begins the next frame, That comes from my experience with time lapse, which if you set the shutter speed to 10s, and also had an interval of 10s, you would lose frames (at the end). for an example if you had set 10 images, at a 10sec interval, with a 10 second exposure time, you would only get *5* exposures. as far as i can tell, the software begins the timer, 10 seconds.... Opens the shutter, 10 seconds go by, closes the shutter and saves the image, during this save cycle, you cut into the next exposures time, so it "skips" it, so your next exposure will not take place until the 20 seconds has passed... Hope that explains it and thanks for watching.
@Havreringar5 жыл бұрын
Would you add 2 secs to all interval lengths (10 -> 12, 20 -> 22, 30 -> 32 etc)?
@havinfun40145 жыл бұрын
@@Havreringar Yes, but ONLY if the shutter speed is equal to my interval length.... if your simply doing a time lapse during the day, and you just want an exposure every 30 seconds, but your shutter speed is 100 milliseconds... then it is not necessary because there is plenty of time between shots.
@Havreringar5 жыл бұрын
Great, thank you for taking the time!

2:00 wrong settings, it's WAY to red at 5700K you should try it between 3000-3500 and you'll get a nice cold blue sky with stars and everything just to know ... oh and your interval is also wrong you should try every 5 seconds and you'll get your nightlapse without jitters
@alquisolafilms14314 жыл бұрын
so if ur shutter speed is 30secs then shooting interval will be 32 secs?
@havinfun40144 жыл бұрын
Alquisola Films yes you might get away with 31, just need to test it... you just need to allow some time for the post processing to take place before the next exposure. If you are using LSNR then its double that....

Is this possible with the 12-35ii f2.8?
@havinfun40146 жыл бұрын
Yes it should be ok, I have done it with OK results on the 12-60 kit lens from my G85.
