I am following this series of videos [Hazrar Ali (ra) aur Hazrat Ameer Muawiya (ra) Ka Ikhtilaf] from day one. And I have no doubt in saying that it is opening new windows of vision and understanding for me. Jazaka'Allah Khair for bringing this, Sir Ghamidi and Hassan Bhai. Having said that, I have one suggestion regarding this series of videos. I think, there is a need to include the major historical references of this entire era (that are being quoted in the books of Sunni and Shia sects) and discuss them one by one. This can be done in the same way you have committed to discuss the Hadees about the martyrdom of Hazrat Ammar Bin Yasir (ra) in separate video. Because all these major historical references are the source of information (and disinformation) that has made us understand the most sensitive part of Islamic history. This series is lacking in this aspect, in my humble opinion , and should address it. Stay blessed.

thats a knee-jerk reaction @syed hasnain Ahmed because the outcome is disliked.....unfortunately JAG sahab has been painstakingly explaining that the dynamics were such that it was the best available option. Good and bad are not absolute in and of themselves, they are circumstance dependent. Its evil to kill someone, but not evil to hang a serial killer. Its noble to have the most God-fearing person rule over us, but when the risk of dissent and anarchy is very high, then a poorer alternative is the better option. No doctor will prescribe a drug that kills your body's immunity, but when the body's immunity is in overdrive, that is the best available option bro. That is how I understood the message in this video.

Ghamidi saab has just created a background by explaining this principle of how sometimes 'mutaghalib' is accepted and resistance is discontinued. I am so sorry to say that this time Ghamidi Sahab got it wrong. I admire Ghamidi Sahab for his understanding of Deen and I’ve learned a lot from him, however, on this topic he doesn’t sound convincing at all. May Allah SWT forgive our mistakes and protect us from defending something which is supposed to be condemned. We shouldn’t attack the intention of Sahaba but should at least manifest the wrong decisions made at that time. Nobody is perfect except Allah SWT. There shouldn’t be any shame to accept the faults made in history so that the Ummah can learn some lessons from it and take correct decisions in future.

I am going through this series right from beginning and found it an extremely thought provoking. The historical events unfolded from altogether different perspective and presented completely in an unbiased way. corelating recent events in Iran, Saudia and Afghanistan was extremely helpful to understand the possible situation at hazrat Mavis رضی اللہ و تعالیٰ عنہ time and provided a window to look into things in broader perspective without having any biases in mind. I consider Ghamdi sahab as my mohsin. I got a clear vision of Islam thru him. BUT i dont think i am in agreement with this historical discussion. Isnt it true that banu ummaya wanted to keep the kingdom (khilafat) in their family ? And didnt this action resulted in dividing the religion in two sects (shia sunni). I failed to see the wisdom in this decision.

Mr Ghamdi's viewpoint is that, a bad government is better than having no government. I personally think that this attitude is not conducive towards establishing a just and prosperous society. We must always struggle to establish the fundamental values of Islam under the guidance of the rightly guided scholars and the Ahle Bayet of the Prophet (sws).

very disappointed with the analysis unfortunately by ustad muhtarim, that implies we should cide and not raise voice or fight against dictatorship as otherwise there would be civil strife as many sahaba at that time avoided, but what happened afterwards eventually they were brutally murdered and women raped in Harra (madina munawarra, the city of rasul ullah SAW) were there lives saved, or did they live comfortably unless one sides with the Ummayads, you were going to be on their hitlist! Even Ummul momineen Ayesha RA was a big critic of him and his governors

yes it seems so, he is v short of saying in hidden ways that he was wrong in assuming govt or it was a wrong way but to be accepted to avoid infighting n civil war, basically power of sword decided the way, but he declined to say that the power of sword once subdued him and after Siffeen he could have been killed as a traitor but instead forgiven and had a truce; he applied the malookiat or son succeeding in pakistan etc principle on the same story too, though in most democracies its by selection or election not on family ties!

Democratic system is like Namaaz.....something to always strive for.....but when society has degenerated to rampant corruption, greed and selfishness ....I guess in Allah's wisdom democracy is not deserved. Let us clean ourselves of our ills and work towards the development of a democratic mindset -- in other words a mind tolerant of dissent and dissenting views.

Dear ghamdi saab. Accepting the taghalab would mean accepting anything that comes through force. So where do all the moral values and principals stand? Where will all the conquest for truth and justice will go? Where does even the religion stand if we accept anyone that comes with force? So tomorrow indian forces occupy pakistan, should we all Pakistanis accept that occupation? How can some one even struggle for anything if your concept of taghalib is to be taken. Has God created its creations for wolves and barbaric animals?? And you are a learned person, how can you deny that the sword unsheated by Hazrat Myawiyah ( RA) was never sheathed afterwards and this way of taking throne by muscles shattered very basics of islam and drank blood of millions of people
