Such interesting insights! The food your MIL cooked looks yummy. 😄😄 Do you know, some customers are dishonest / sneaky by adding more fruit (cherries or small boxed fruits) to another box of the same and buy it. I like to shop at NTUC early, 6 am, and came to know about this when I saw the cashier reporting to the supervisor, holding out a box of cherries. When I asked her what's the fuss about, she explained what she had discovered. I should think this can only be done in the early hours of the morning because the supermarket is mostly empty.

The word is "rugi" not loogi. It's a Malay word. Closest English word is "loss". For example, if something is worth $4 but you paid $5 for it, then you "rugi" $1. Or if someone offers you a free meal but you can't go, then you feel "rugi lah". So for the Kangkung, although it's all the same price, if you buy the one with the lighter weight then you rugi lah.
