Sucker Punch is only doing this for the money .... Well DUH! ...... The entire reason they made the game was to make money. The entire reason you go to your job is to make money. Do you work for free? I also don't understand why you think Sucker Punch should spend money to provide updates forever when it wouldn't generate them any income in return for their work. It makes sense to do updates now because putting it on PC will generate revenue and without revenue the company goes bankrupt and lays everyone off. As far as being a money grab, wouldn't restricting it in 177 regions (not countries which only number 195) be the opposite of a money grab ? After all restrictions don't generate a penny I don't and never have owned a PlayStation but one thing I do know is Sony is good at keeping multiplayer games and gamers safe from predators, griefers and cheaters and part of how they have been able to do that is PSN being a closed system network. The reality is multiplayer on the PC is a cesspool and has been for quite some time and I think Sony is simply looking for a way to keep that from happening in their games and on their platform and making PSN a requirement is a necessity to keep control and to keep gamers, especially underage gamers safe.

Literally thousands of users have had their Steam accounts hacked and/or stolen over the last 15 years and just last October indie game developers on Steam had their accounts hacked and trojans inserted into their games ...... Luckily the damage was held to a minimum The point is keeping multiplayer gamers safe which is something PC developers have failed at miserably .... They are nearly all full of predators, griefers and cheaters which is why I quit playing online multiplayer games long ago. I was kind of looking forward to multiplayer in GoT because of Sony safeguards but now I'm not so sure, I suspect it will be like every multiplayer game that the PC Master Baiter Race have infected .... Mind you I have been a PC gamer before many of you were even born, haven't owned a console since 1997 and ran a private Papyrus NASCAR Racing server and league for 6 years (2001-2006) to keep the children that can't behave themselves out and provide a safe place for serious sim racers to play without worrying about the idiots that can't behave themselves and act like adults .... A problem that is significantly worse today than it was 20 years ago

Aight. First off the idea that a 4 years old PS exclusive is being ported over to PC for profit is self-evident. That fact alone is not concerning, it is business as usual. Then the comparison with the Helldivers 2 fiasco is a little bit disingenuous because GoT is very upfront about it. I don't think having to link your PSN to your steam profile is what most people have an issue with, rather it's the fact that in the case of Helldivers 2 this restriction was implemented some time after release and that it forced people to comply in order to be able to keep playing content they already paid for. I'm extremely happy that this gem of a game is about to become available to more people, and it will give me a perfect opportunity to play the DLC (which I missed because I completed the game on its release on PS4 and haven't played since). I have no problem whatsoever repurchasing the PC version, because I consider this game one of the best open world RPGs ever and completely deserving of my time and money. As for the points you made regarding the Legends mode, I am in no way shape or form qualified to have an opinion on it. I have never touched this game mode. It always struck me as a bit of an afterthought and nothing more. I had no idea it had an actual playerbase.

It's the internet everyone is able to have an open opinion and I agree with yours. I don't really see a problem with needing a PSN account to play multiplayer it is an option. If you want to play it multiplayer than make the PSN account and link it. If you just want to play solo well don't worry you can play it without a PSN account. If people are truly worried then they won't buy the game but if they don't care like myself the game will thrive. I do think it is unfair to the countries that aren't able to buy the game but that is why cracked services exist and VPN's exist. They are for the countries that either can't get the game due to regions or the games just being too expensive in their national currency. The internet is a huge place where anything can happen. I won't be discouraged into not buying the game I think will be worth it.

what you are failing to see is that in 188 region there is no creating a psn account and the game is delisted all together in those regions I, just like you, have no problem repurchasing the pc version as i missed the dlc as well as replay the game cause its one of my favourite games of all times but thanks to sony i cant do none of that if this isnt the biggest push to piracy in those regions idk what is

I can guarantee Hackers are watching this issue closely and will be adding Trojans to pirated copies of the game or putting pirated copies for download on websites with "drive by trojans" that can infect you just by going there. The potential to infect 1000's of computers in just a few days will be too big of an opportunity to miss. Just because your virus scanner didn't pick something up is no guarantee you weren't infected. A good Zero-Day trojan/virus is not detected for days, weeks and sometimes months. Even if you do detect one it can still mess up your Windows installs and is a major reason some people have so much problem with new games when the majority of people do not when they are using the same hardware.

Bought it on the PS4 Platinumed it, bought it again on the PC, does it feel like a money grab?, nope, I bought it on console first because I couldn't wait for the port, the multiplayer portion of the game was never a live service so it makes sense that we haven't received any content, would it be nice yes, but I spent $90 just to play the MP again at higher frames and graphics then the console I didn't have a PS4 pro so it was locked to 30 for me, feels buttery smooth playing at my monitors refresh rate 165 fps,2k res, playing hunter feels slick at those frames, never got bored of the MP though and the story was phenomenal, regarding the save files, you can actually manually port your save, if you get a usb thumb stick drive you can transfer your console save onto it, then with a bit of google you can convert your save into a PC compatible save, also people will have 100% save files on Nexus Mods if you don't want to do the manual method, another plus is for the PC port is the mods we could get like you mentioned, the restriction on certain countries does suck though, atleast with Helldivers 2 the community was in an uproar and Sony actually removed the requirement, maybe the same will happen here but linking your account will transfer your trophies over and I believe helps with crossplay which is in beta right now, so PC players can invite their console friends to play with.

I'm actually glad that they found a way to raise a little bit of more revenue on so much hard work they've put into this epic game! I even wish there was a donation option for players who choose to show grratefulness to sucker punch. The free DLC Legends mode is SO MUCH FUN I still play often with my friends. I'm glad that online community is gonna be more populated and easier to match again. In the end, I don't want anybody to work for free or at outrageously low income. Hard work should be rewarded. Let's support sucker punch decision because in the end, it's a business. A business which doesn't produce profit will get weaker and bankrupt eventually. It was exclusive to PS for enough length of time I believe. They're not volunteer workers. I'd be happy to somehow pay them what I can when I can.

@@mari-2-2-2 that sounds great but here’s the issue if they don’t have PSN they’re not gonna have the ability to play it at all even if it’s for the single player mode and there is about 180 countries that are blocked from purchasing the game so it all depends where your friends are from and if they’re able to buy it and the fact that they still have to make a PSN account to link to their Steam account in order to play, which is a bad look for Sony if you think about it, even if your friends made a VPN to make a PSN account, PlayStation will ban that account from playing their game even if they’re not in that country

The PC release itself IS a money grab, but nothing different than all the other PC releases of Sony exclusives. Honestly, while Legends hasn't updated in years, I've still managed to have fun with it in various ways, and now more friends will be able to play with me online. Suckerpunch is a pretty small company, so I'd rather get a sooner Ghost 2 than more Legends content. They're working on a Legends 2.0 for all we know! I'm sad about the Sony Network restrictions though, which Suckerpunch didn't have anything to do with, and likely they can't openly dissent about it either.

Okay I’m genuinely curious, what do people want more of this game specifically to legends? Like don’t get me wrong did the game die a little? Yes but I’ve been curious about what people want more…like we have 6 different maps for survival, we have a whole fantasy oni/iyo story line. We have hella cosmetics for each of the classes, we have a custom mode where you can choose how much harder do you want the survival match to be, we have nightmare survival and nightmare story have, we have trials, we also have rivals, we also have a whole 3 chapter raid, like what else do people want?

I get what you are saying and maybe I can explain from the perspective of someone who played the fuck out this game SICNE IT CAME OUT.. Once you finish everything, there is nothing left but a game that has MANY bugs. You want simple things to be fixed as well as added maps, maybe more cosmetics, maybe some events to unlock shit, maybe introduce new game modes... and so much more. I played Ghost of Tsushima day 1 when it released back on the PS4 and it is in my top 5 games of all time and im super excited that it releases on PC on Thursday but to say this is a money grab is not right at all! Sony have been starting to branch out to PC over the past few years with The Last Of Us, Days Gone, Horizon Zero Dawn and Horizon Forbidden West, Spiderman and now Ghost of Tsushima coming to PC. Sony have sold close to 160 million units from PS4/PS5 consoles, where PC have an Estimated 1.86 Billion PC gamers. ANY game developer or publisher who doesn't publish the games to PC are missing out especially when the game is a Masterpiece like Ghost of Tsushima its business not a money grab. Suckerpunch deserve every penny they receive from sales and to say you want updates or more content for the consoles version when they added Legends and the Raid free of charge when they could have easily charged you for that content sounds a bit entitled to me. I already own the game on Playstation and iv already pre-ordered the PC version because it is that good of a game and if it means my purchase of the PC version helps fund Ghost of Tsushima 2 in some way i know that will also be a great game too because Suckerpunch is one of a few studios i have faith in to deliver great games.

Let’s talk about it. It shouldn’t matter whether or not it’s a money grab, we originally weren’t going to ever see this game go beyond PlayStation but they were kind enough to make it playable elsewhere. That should be good enough if you ask me. I understand the thirst for content because you’re passionate about such a great game but at the end of the day we as a community should be thankful that this even happened. Also, as far as it being a money grab goes, this could be money used to fund a sequel. Spending 8 years to make a game isn’t by any means as cheap ya know ? That’s just my take on it, I’m curious how keyboard would play honestly, and modding for any game like this would be phenomenal. I hope they do what GTA did and play into the modding scene instead of restricting it.

All the Sony crap stuff out of the way. The parts regarding the Legends stuff and this PC port is for “money grabs” is just something I kind of don’t agree with. I think of it like this: if Suckerpunch were to never release the Legends multiplayer, there wouldn’t be this complaint of wanting more updates and content. The single player + DLC for me was enough for me to say this game was absolutely worth spending my money on. Legends was just a very nice little extra. The idea of Suckerpunch having them to “owe” us with constant updates is one I don’t agree with imo. They’ve already done enough with the amount of work they put in. I’m fine with them not updating Legends anymore. They’ve given us so much that it feels bad to ask for more. As for money grab, well, it’s a business after all. PC players will have their turn to play and experience, mods being added which I feel like will make more people buy the game, so on and so forth. This is just my overall thoughts on this matter.

So the first point you make is "Sucker Punch is only doing this for the money" Uh... why else would they release it on PC. That is literally how business works. People just want to find anything to complain about these days. This is one of the best games ever created and Sucker Punch gave so many free updates. Even the PS4 to PS5 update was free. Now PC players and people who might not have gotten the chance to play the game are getting the chance to play it. There is not a single thing about this that is negative EXCEPT maybe the PSN requirement for online. The rest is all good and positive. I am sick of this stupid narrative. I can't speak to the Legends mode being abandoned since I never played that, but what I can assume is that not many people were playing any more and they were hard at work on Ghosts 2 and also making a PC port to bring in more funds to pay their people and work on the new game. To start attacking a developer who has given their all to their players over time (they have done WAY MORE for you than the opposite) is just ridiculous. We all know most the bad decisions were controlled by Sony so we can't be blaming Sucker Punch for that. Also from what I read, they never abandoned anyone. They literally let the game run it's course then said we're now done with it and moving on as far as Legends, just like my assumption above states.

Developers cannot spend time and resources on something that is simply not worth it. The maybe 1k people still playing legends at the time they abandoned it is not worth their time. They are a studio. They have to make money. They have to feed their employees and their families. And supporting a dead game is not going to do that. What will do that is diverting those resources to a new game they’re developing. And yes, the PC Port is for money, like what? They need money to live. They also need to show Sony that the I.P is worth the time and investment that they’ve put into it and likely all the time theyre putting into a sequel right now which is why it’s being put on PC. Sadly this is how corporations work. 1.The developers work hard and build the game but the investors call the shots.. game testing is the only way patch errors in the game n developers know that, but the majority stake holder will prohibit them because they don't want to incur the expenses needed for frequent updates, all they care about is invest money in the team and expect x-times returns in an x-timeframe. Which really sucks for the game builders. they are are unable to execute the right steps even if they want to. Epitome of control. 2. In an earlier patch the devs fixed the orb cancel glitch (which is the clear intent of the developers not wanting this exploit to exist) but people found new ways to do it even after the devs re-patched the second time. Now even if they wanna patch it the investors wont allow time to be invested in repatching cz it costs money to them. Same is the case with other combat glitches. Perhaps they also fear if they fix the game to perfection and players cant cheat anymore, it will reduce the player base. 3. Whats ironic is japan is also included in the list where players cant play. N this entire game is based on Japan's samurai story line. Surely this a money grab attempt. 4. Sony themselves have active investment in the game n greed is pretty evident. For a million dollar multinational brand thats globally recognized. Their Play station mobile app is dog shit!!! There are other apps from smaller companies thats far more smooth. So your theory is right this is all just the greed to want money. Sadly this is how corporations dominate and control, almost like dictators in theirs specific fields. All I can assume is developers have lost their ethical grounds in the pursuit for money. I have reached out them, adam has, many other players have including you. They just don't care. Games like COD has active ant-cheat efforts because atleast the devs try with ghost coming to pc the game will fall into the abyss of no return for sure.
