The most freaking issue is that the actresses still think that everybody hates this movie only because women are in the main roles. These actresses are really crazy.

Here's my idea for a real Ghostbusters 3... The trailer starts with the piano version of the original theme looming over the city, but it starts to zoom into the old abandoned station from 1 and 2, but many years later. Ray, now older looks back on a group photo of all 4 members, to which Ray says "Where have the times gone?" And as the music proceeds to get more emotional when Ray states how the team was never the same after Egon's death, Winston became depressed and was out of contact, and Peter decided to expand his career in television, while trying to forget the hardships of losing a friend. And just when Ray starts to close the building down for good, he hears a loud moan from the basement. He sees what it is thinking someone was hiding in the building, but when he goes down to the old laboratory, he starts hearing a familiar voice once checking the lab. "Long time no see old friend." Ray freaks out from the sight of a ghost, but noticed it meant no harm. Low and behold, Egon's ghost now walks the plains with Ray telling him what he's missed since his passing, but Egon worns Ray of a new spectral disaster that's on its way, and they need to bring the gang back together for one last hurrah to stop the menece, and save the city from a new apocalypse. Ray gets his gear, fires up the rusted Ecto-1, and with Egon floating beside him he states "Looks like old trends never die." *Cue Ghost busters III* and theme song Just a thought of concept, but what do you think of the idea?

If I want to see a juvenile take on Ghosbusters...then I'll just watch the underrated 2001 film Evolution with David Duchovny and Orlando Jones. I don't need nor want to see a flick which Buttfucks Ghostbusters by having EVP farts, shooting the Ghost Logo in the dick, and references to 20 other/better movies. Great job on the epic rant. This movie sounds Unfunny as Fuck.

I did watch Evolution on HBO Zone (or one of the HBO channels or other premium channels that we have for free for 3 months) less than a few months ago sometime after my dad ordered cable. And the only reason why I did is because it was made into an animated series (which aired 3 months after the film) and I didn't get to see the film in theaters back in 2001 when I was 9.

I'd rather they leave this franchise alone after the remake flopped. Ghostbusters never needed to be continued in film. They couldn't get a cast reunion together outside the video game and after Harold Ramis died any idea about a third film should have been put to rest. They had plenty of material to work with the franchise in other mediums. It didn't need saving as a film franchise. It left enough of a legacy as a pop culture icon of the 80s to stay as a two film series. The problem is film studios are too greedy for their own good and think that established franchise films coming back hold some kind of guaranteed profit margins based on brand name alone. Nobody is smart enough to look at a brand like Ghostbusters and properly and efficiently determine the best ways to utilize it based on the fanbase and the legacy it holds. Look at Back to the future as an example of utilizing the brand in ways that don't mess with the legacy it left. They show enormous respect to their fanbase coming out with different merchandise and apparel and media over the years. They know you can't recreate the magic they had so they let the franchise live on through the fans love of the trilogy. Ghostbusters did so well with the video game. They gave their fans something so authentic and respectful to the films that it's such a shame they had to go the route they did for GB2016 in order to bank off its name. I am very thankful the new film flopped at the box-office and how it killed the franchise and sometimes it's better to kill something then let it suffer. This franchise is now like a wounded half-dead animal since the Real GBs ended and nothing else good has came out in the last 25 years with the exception of the 2009 video game and the merchandise and comics by IDW, no movies since then and other games during the years have sucked and Extreme GBs was ok show and this remake flopped at the box-office. You just can't recapture the same lightning in a bottle like the original as the original focused on a brilliant mature intelligent script and reminded how well crafted it is a supernatural fantasy comedy adventure with horror trimmings, a solid cast of talented comedy actors who are given just enough space to subtly give wit around without undermining the world of the story. Has an edge to it in the original as the original is what i call great filmmaking. The new version hits some viewers in the face with painfully forced juvenile Sandler (modern Sandler mind you)-esque humor, a poorly written unfunny script, poor pacing and plus no passion but money grab is. Plus none of the edge of the original movie and a lame villain who lacks the menace of Gozer and Viggo. This shows what 80's and 90's comedy did right, and what some modern comedy is doing wrong. Not to mention shooting the logo in the dick as a bad guy which is an insult to the franchise and there is no passion in this remake and just a cash-grab made by Sony. I have a few female friends who thought this remake was poorly written, sexist towards men as one of my lady friends said it's an unfunny insult to women with such man hating agenda and well i enjoyed a few of Feig's movies, i felt he was the wrong guy for this project and even he didn't want to do it at first but he had to for the paycheck and he felt out of his comfort zone as R-rated films is what he is good at and not big budget PG-13 films as after this flopped, he should go back to original stuff. Hollywood needs to focus on making good films and focus on the new franchises like Jack Reacher, Bourne, John Wick etc. not digging up some old favorite franchises and desperately sucking the dried up blood of the corpses into some focus-group approved poorly written piece of junk. Ghostbusters is best left alone. They should had made Ghostbusters 3 years ago like in the 90's, and now that Harold Ramis is dead so has Ghostbusters. Studios need to rediscover the spirit that made great series/movies, not keep recyling past glories. I hope some people here will understand what i am saying as the world has moved on and some franchises need to be dead and left alone only for the memory of the original to be seen/loved/watched by everyone for years to come on what quality filmmaking is all about and that i am right with my truth about why some series should be left alone as some would and not to recycle some past glories as we moved on and need some fresh new things for current film. Sometimes dead is better like Jud Crandall in Pet Sematary would say and the franchise died with Harold Ramis.

I knew it...I just knew it. I knew this was going to blow ghost chunks and I was right. I'm not against the cast at all - there's nothing wrong with female protagonists, heck some of my favorite video games have a female lead like the Tomb Raider series, Drakkan, Bloodrayne and even Primal which has a girl who can turn into a variety of demon forms. But this was a stupid idea from the get-go, I mean how desperate do you have to be to try to reboot one of the most renown movies of all time?

I understand how both you and Angry Joe feel. Having a negative viewpoint about the movie doesn't make you a sexist or misogynist. You're a Ghostbusters purist, which is something I totally respect. I saw the movie last night, and for me personally, it was a mixed bag of both good and bad. Let me elaborate... Here's what I liked...the female leads (who for the most part were likeable), Kate McKinnon's character (who I thought stole the show), some of the humor, the scene at the Aldrich Masion, the wise-ass college dean, the scenes where they're testing the equipment, the update on the car and proton packs/ghost trap, the ghost "puncher", the scene at the rock concert, the brief appearance of Stay Puft, and some of the designs of the ghosts looked pretty cool. I even thought the soundtrack was pretty good (minus the awful Fallout Boy cover). Here's what I disliked...Chris Hemsworth's character (who's very out of place in this movie), the terrible CGI, the forgettable villain, the lack of competent male characters (they're all stereotypes), the lack of deadpan characters, the lack of subtlety with the humor, Bill Murray's humorless cameo, the fart joke, the pointless dialogue about wonton soup, Erin discussing her ghostly encounter when she was young (which goes nowhere), the abundance of unnecessary callbacks to the original movie, and of course all the lame jokes that were featured in the trailer. A Ghostbusters movie with an all-female cast I think deserves better treatment than this. Having said that, I thought it was just okay...I'd give it a C+ or a B-. I went in with very low expectations, which may have helped somewhat. It didn't turn out to be the complete turd I thought it would be -- and I don't think it's quite deserving of all the strong vitriolic hatred its gotten. I will say that no matter how hard this movie wants to be like the original, it will never happen. The original 1984 film is a bonafide comedy classic that set the bar very high. It will outlive this movie for generations to come. If you want to get a better understanding of my opinion, check out Doug and Rob Walker's review of this film. They pretty much hit the nail on the noggin. They're both fair, critical, and also truthful.

Bahaha! I've never seen so many reviews for one movie but good on ya, fellow moviegoer. I finally got around to seeing this free online and also wanted something back. The gal I was watching it with had her face buried in her hands a good amount of time it was so awful, unfunny, Chris Hemsworth was unrealistically stupid, the scenes shifted so weird so the pacing was off and things were hard to understand. What an epic fail when this self-hating man makes a movie about promoting woman-power and the result is pissing off women who've seen it. _Ballbusters_ by Paul Feig will not earn (his estimated) $500 million. I heard the merch is being liquidated at super-low prices everywhere. The dolls have more 3-dimensional depth than the on-screen characters did. I watched this movie with a neutral state of mind like I did with _Goosebumps_ and I smirked. Once... with the rest of runtime asking myself "what am I watching?" or "what's going on?"

Nothing makes sense, how the fuck a nerd all of a sudden has the power of Gozer? Plus he is a fucking idiot for not controlling the Ghostbusters to dance or at least freeze them so he can get a better chance of killing them. I wonder when back to the future remake comes out and gets all the hate, what will Sony or whoever the fuck is in charge will say? "Oh you hate it because you don't like time travel" ??? By the way, if this movie never gets a sequel, it will be the next super Mario bros movie because of that ending plus it has the same joke almost instead of pizza, its Chinese food. Super Mario bros is way better than this. This honestly makes all Michael Bay Transformer films look like the Shawshank Redemption. Meanwhile, the angry video game nerd is sitting far away with his beer and watching the movie burn down to the ground. Chop top's movie reference to Rambo 3 was more funnier than anything in this, plus Rambo 3 wasn't even out yet when that joke was made. I can see his version of The Thing 1982, alien men, flame throwing their dicks, only the women don't get infected, blows the Thing up by attaching the bomb on it's penis with the line "No boys allowed". The poster or trailer should say "Man is the warmest place to hide. Stay away from our tits"

We all thought we were getting a GB sequel this time around! What we got was something that had no idea what it was supposed to be, with all the worst aspects of sequel and reboot and none of the benefits of either. [Star Trek is an example of how to reboot right - sure, it's rehashing some of the basic plot points of the originals right down to Khan being the second-episode villain and the Enterprise appearing to be destroyed in the third film (no spoilers, it's in the trailer) - but the alternate continuity of that reboot has been clearly and officially established, and the torch was duly and respectfully passed through the Two Spocks. At no time did it ever shit on the fans or ignore the previous films; it deliberately went its own way and the Classic Trek fans were free to enjoy or reject Abrams' vision as they wished.]

i've almost literally just got out of the cinema watching Ghostbusters [2016] and i couldn't disagree with you more. this film is the shit! and Kate McKinnon was wicked good. really weird and funny and weird again. who knew that in my lifetime there would be a ghostbuster i would want to have sex with :) i must admit the opening worried me a bit, because it looked too small in comparison to the original and the score was overbearing. but after that it was all good. i laughed pretty much consistently but not all the jokes landed, especially the ones from the trailer. . . but i did notice everyone else in the theatre laughed a lot, some like really uncontrollably. and there were some really little kids there and they seemed to be having loads of fun [it is a kids film after all]. yeah, really good flick. also, i disagree about the pg-13 thing you said. i think the 'look! women can be vulgar, too' joke that is popular in films like bridesmaids is really gimmicky and one note; so it was refreshing to see they didn't go in that direction. anyway, always enjoy listening to your funny little rants and good to hear different opinions. keep it up! cheers. [although, sometimes you go really loud and it rattles my speakers!]

Why promise a sequel in the trailers(30 years ago 4 scientists/friends saved new york) and give us a half-baked rip off of the original movie with few changes and an extremely feminist undertone instead ? That's just asking for trouble. A 'passing of the torch' kind of film would've fitted the franchise a whole lot better then this half-baked rip off remake. The women aren't really the problem, sony is for lying to us(trailers) and ruining a perfect opportunity to do something special with the great source material the franchise has to offer.

I didn't think it was great, but I don't think it completely sucked either. The balloons made no sense to me, but I wonder if it just means the ghosts found the floats in storage and possessed them? They dropped the ball on that. The DeBarge scene was the worst for me. I can't remember what proceeded the scene, but it just cut to her lip syncing and it came out of nowhere. Completely pointless. Also, I guess shooting Rowan in the privates was more for the humans because I don't think a ghost would have junk anyway, right? Didn't understand the mutilated ghosts.
