When I first started playing, I was very bad at Ghosts. Like many of you, I was struggling to adapt. However, I found a method that helped me greatly improve at the game. This video will help you get better at Ghosts by detailing my method.

You guys complained in BO2 abouthow there weren't enough flank routes and now you have them and you complain. I think this is the best game yet, great maps that I don't think are HUGE like most exaggerate and great map layouts. It's challenging and forces you to really think and not just run out.

Man i love the 3 route thing. Brings me back to the old Counter strike days, where most of the maps had 3 routes and it was fun like that. Even on deathmaches. I cant get used to ghosts i've played it for a while and its just boring, i love the fast-pace thats offered in bo2. Ghosts on the other hand, even on cranked, unless you're playing on these smaller maps, its boring :/ but thats just my opinion i guess

I like ghosts for the fact that its totally different from Black Ops 2. Yes the spawns are complete garbage, but I think that Ghosts is completely skill based.

Dark demon The worst part is...THEY CAN SEE YOU THROUGH FUCKING WALLS. What happened to the MW style cod THAT WAS SKILL BASED. Essentially what he's telling you do to is: "Stop being try hards. You don't get skills by running around thinking you're a prodigy. Get rid of your shotgun like snipers, give yourself a handicap and force yourself to pay attention to your environment." You're just getting rid of all the wanna-be try hard's weapons and forcing them to use something that is rather limited. If they can't no-scope or whatever it is you kids do you're gonna have to actually THINK to get a kill. Not just hope your console's auto aim will get the kill for you if you get close. Anyone who says this doesn't work is still rushing directly into the battle thinking they're hot crap because they got the top kill streak once. Getting kill streaks doesn't mean you are good (but it makes you feel like you're good), call of duty is the slot machine of shooters. Just takes the right place, at the right time and you can trick anyone's ego into thinking they're a FPS God. This is just average cod player's mentality, try hards, and K/D obsess-er. The people complain about camping when in reality it's one the best god damn tactics of all time. Do you want to die? No lets hide in this room and when the guy comes in shoot him in the face. Yeah it sucks that someone is smart enough to take cover, no need to rage over the mic because someone prefers to use real tactics apposed to running around with a sniper to try to be MLG. Great game but majority of the player base is mainly stuck on this one series. Try some Arma, or R&L. It might not translate into better skills on COD, but it will defiantly make you think, not just rush out there and try to smash everything before you respawn. Cause let's face it, if you're not constantly thinking that's how you'll end up playing cod. After a while of grinding that's how I end up playing it. So ALL IN ALL, just think when you play. You don't need to camp, or even use dual 44's to get better at COD. There's no right or wrong way to play. You can rush and still be great. You can camp and still do great. There's millions of things in between you can do. What it mainly factors down to is 1. Your play style, and 2. Your sense of awareness. Use all your in-game senses (including radar). Be aware of where your team mates are, realize if a majority of them are near you, then the enemies spawn generally on the other-side. Think of the possible routes they can come down, and keep in consideration (again) where your team is. Listen for foot steps, slow down before corners/doors. And combined all your senses with what play style you do best in, and you can be better. Call Of Duty. My favorite mindless arcade shooter series.

JappyChan Yeah it's not easy to explain something that is so complex. You can't speak for every possible out come so you gotta speak in tons of generalities. This game is hard to play to most people because they started on MW3/BO2 which were both severely catered to bad players/children so it's easy to do well. Ghosts on the other hand feels more like BO1/MW2 to me, the kill speed is faster, there aren't any super OP weapons, no shotguns that shoot halfway across the street, no powerful akimbo auto pistols, nothing that a bad players can use to do well. I've been doing extremely well on this game since I put it in my disc tray (currently have a 2.84 K/D) and I'm having almost as much fun I did back when MW2 was the current CoD. I'm not losing gunfights to most people just because they're using a certain class setup. It feels like skill actually matters in this game and I love it. I didn't understand why most people hated Ghosts but now I do, it's because it's not so noob friendly like the past 2 CoD games have been.

reall in bo2 I had a 3.62 and in ghost I have a 1.89 yes there basically split in half but only becayse I didn't play ghost until march 0f 2014 because I hated ghost but bo2 got so boring I had to move on and go to the next cod hopefully AW is going to be good

Drift0r-You were absolutely right!!!! I completed this challenge over several days. Upon completion, I returned to my regular Assault Rifle Class and shazam!!! I am transformed!!! I went 30 and 15 with a first place finish on Free-For-All for the first time ever! I typically would have only 10-12 kills. Great advice as always Drift0r! Thanks. Keep it up!

There are three major factors that determine your performance on any CoD game. 1. Skill (Aim, map awareness, and situation judgement) 2. Luck (Someone could spawn behind you, random nade, timing) 3.Connection (No lag= better hit detection) Some things are just out of your control. It really does not matter how good you are. you will have a bad game eventually.

4. The coding(s) of the game. I haven't played Ghosts, but if you have coding errors where you have offline lag (broken camera angles video of BO2), you'll have a very bad time.

I will note that many of the factors that most call 'luck' - the spawn system, where enemies throw grenades from, recoil - are a lot less relevant when you understand the underlying systems that make those things happen the way they do.

Genius plan driftor. This 100% works without a doubt. Back in mw2, I used to try to knife only. But, I sucked at it. I than learned how to become better at knifing, and it retrained me at mw2. Without a doubt, this video is the best advice anybody can give in this game. It my sound ridiculous, but try it, you'll thank him later.

The best way to do better in Ghosts is to camp. COD Ghosts seriously promotes camping. Before, I only had a 1.5KD in Ghosts but then I watched a few of Wing's videos and I started to camp more than I ever have. Now, I have a 2.5kd and 3.00 win loss. I still rush a little though because camping is boring as crap and I feel like a noob when I camp.

To all the kids here talking about their K/D going up or down or they have a 4.5 by sitting in a corner the whole game need to realize that you can't put your K/D on a college application or résumé. Its laughable how some sweaty kid will camp to protect their stats. Your stats are dumb numbers that holds no weight out side of the game you're playing. Once you figure this out you will enjoy the game a lot more.

It's just a different way to play / enjoy the game. Some people aren't in it for the huge # of kills in a match, some guys would have more fun with 13-2 than 33-14. It's really sad that a video like this has to be uploaded and that people can't figure this out on their own. Now it's a great video, it echos what F1st and I have been saying since day one. THIS ISN'T BO2. When people figure out how to play this game, I may have to adjust my strategy, but it's pretty simple. People camp because they realize they're terrible at the game, so all you have to do is stay on the edges of the map (the first and best strategy since this franchise introduced multiplayer) and flank them. This game forces you to pay a lot of attention, where BO2 just let you skate by on gun skills and big kill scorestreaks. BO2 was a HUGE step back for this franchise in terms of requiring actual skill. Now that the game requires more than gun skills, people all the sudden have freaked out and have no idea what they're doing. IW obviously knew this, hence the challenge. Nobody is giving IW the credit they deserve for this game. If it seems bad, or if a weapon seems OP, you just don't understand yet.

I understand this logic perfectly, you are going from having a disadvantage which eventually you get used to but after you are used to it you also have better everything including perks to attachments, I remember MW3 with the Deagle and to make it seem even harder lets say i was playing on the Wii with a Wii-mote. after I had unlocked the upgrades i started acting like i did during the gun uprades, crouching around corners sprinting through flanks of flank routes. I even got better with snipers (which by the way are extremly hard to use on Wii) now i can play Black ops and well mostly get destroyed playing people 40 levels higher than me...

I think another thing that would help people get better at the game is switching to tactical. This is a "drop shot" game and anyone still using default is at a disadvantage. Drop shotting on default isn't nearly effective as you have to take your thumb off the right thumb stick, so don't give me that "I can drop shot just fine" BS that default users always seem to get. I use to be one of you so I'd know. Also, whatever class you make, Dead Silence and Focus are a must have. One allows you to move around undetected, the other allows you to constantly win gun fights where the opposing person has the first 2/3 shots due to less flinch.

Ghosts really seperate's the skilled player from the kids. Any good player can adapt to Ghosts in as long as it takes to learn the maps. The bad players are the ones still commenting saying that it's random. (except the FFA spawns, those suck)

I was a fairly decent BO2 I had around 150 Nuclears or so throughout the life span of it and in this game I already have 26 KEM strikes litterally thanks to using different weapons I have all LMG KEMS all AR KEMS all Markman rifle KEMS and going for all subby KEMS.

Spawns in general need some serious work (though the last patch supposedly helped). I spawned on an enemy-controlled point in Domination multiple times not that long ago. We had A and B, they had C, I spawned like five steps behind C (as in, if I ran forward I'd hit C long before I hit B or A). Then there were a number of times in TDM I spawned in someone's view who had, according to the killcam, ran up some stairs and turned to watch a door when I appeared on their screen shortly after (and promptly got shot).

My tip is to keep on playing. That might be common sense, but it works. At the beginning I was getting negative scores at the end of every match, hardly ever did I break even. Tonight (a week after) I played and had only one game where I went negative, every other game was 20+ kills and under 10 deaths. With time you learn the highly populated routes, the crazy spawns and where people usually camp. I run a gun of choice and a crapload of perks, even the specialist to amp up my movement and damage dealt. I play hardcore if that matters, lots of camping and winning gun battles takes good reflexes.

But if you only keep playing, most of other players will keep on playing too. And you will learn at the same speed, or, maybe not because we're all different, but most of people will learn as the same speed as you will so thats not very effective.

Yes, we all have different speeds of learning, but you gotta understand that you're not always going to play with the same people, some will be at your level, some above and some below. The game is still relatively "new" and let's not forget, the "Christmas noobs" are coming, you will be far ahead than they will once that time comes.

I tried Drift0r's Tac45 only in seven games from BLOPS2 and I got better playing that game. Will try this challenge and see if there's any good results. Since his previous tips worked out so well, I think this one will, too.

I have a 4.75 k/d in this game. Here's how: Off the grid, amplify, dead silence, take down Silenced weapon Patrol a single building the entire game Going out in the open or change buildings is NOT effective. The more you kill enemies in one spot, the more they come back to you in your preferred camp-zone. Yes it is fking boring. Yes, you feel bad for the people you keep killing. Yes, you will eventually quit Ghosts due to boredom. But it is better than destroying your TV/controller/console/walls due to rage.

Dear Drift0r, I commented this same comment a few days ago but I know you are busy with Ghosts and BF4, but since the PS4 is out, and Warframe (a game you visited a while ago) is on PS4, could you do some In-Depth on that game? I play it allot, and think it would be cool to see some specific stats on those War frames and Weapons. Or possibly do that game in the down time between COD games, like when you have reviewed all the weapons and equipment in a COD game and you don't really have anything to review, you could do Warframe.

This is exactly what I do on my own in every call of duty, Mini uzi (MW1 and 2) AA-12 (MW3) HS-10 (BO1) Executioner (BOII) these are all guns that I normally use, and it helps me be able to actually know what I'm doing, I learn every rushing route and where people are going to be, I'm very happy you made this video, because this is how learning to play a cod is best IMO.

I agree the spawning is horrible in Ghosts! I also think this challenge is tough and frustrating due to having to equip the extra attachment slot! I actually like akimbo pistols though, and they seem fairly accurate, especially with steady aim.... I finally have this operation enabled and will give it a try. It honestly seems like getting the chrome barrel master III challenge in a short period of time is more difficult, but I'm not a great sniper. I did notice you aren't sporting a ghillie suit though, or even hidden cobra yet...? Also, I am pretty sick of hearing people complain about the beautiful map size in Ghosts. I am a huge fan of WAW and these maps seem no bigger to me. I don't care if KZbin COD jockeys are unable get their KEM Strikes because there aren't three alleys that their team can seal off. I play lone wolf nearly always, and this evens up the odds for me vs teams. It's about time really! Aside from Spawn issues, I can think of a few other issues in Ghosts. IED's should have a longer alarm or something different, the lack of theater mode, and footsteps are a bit too loud. I have a surround sound headset, and I still think it's too loud. It should be just a little quieter. I noticed their are some levels with nearly invincible locations for survivors on infected. This makes me dislike infected big time! I completely disagree about gun balancing. This by far the most balanced COD ever regarding the guns IMO. Nearly perfect really. Look at all the different guns you are getting killed with. It's a huge variety. That says it all! My biggest complaint with the guns is the inclusion of closed iron sights on the AR's I like. I believe they did it for balancing purposes, but still find it frustrating. Peace

I'm not Drift0r but I'm sure I have a good tip for you guys. When I first played this game I could barely keep 1 k/d, it was incredibly hard to keep that 1 k/d but one day I spent the entire day playing the practice mode, from the easiest bots to the hardest ones, after that I tried the multiplayer again, and for my surprise, all of the sudden 2 k/d started to be child's play, when I do bad games and have dreadful teams I keep that 1.5 k/d easily. So my advice for you guys. Play with your favorite gun on practice mode I can guarantee you will play a lot better than you play today.

Awesome tip, Drift0r! I just bought this game and I miss BOP2 A LOT... a used to slaughter people on BOP2 but am having a really hard time on Ghosts... two completely different games. How do YOU like Ghosts so far?

You haven't even listed anything, other than your opinion, which I suspect isn't very credible. Look it up? It's the Quake engine, but it's barely recognizable. This is the equivalent to the Ford Fairmont vs a 2004 Mustang Cobra. Both use the "same" frame, but the Cobra's has been built to the point of being unrecognizable when compared to the original variant. Try to actually formulate an argument next time. Stating your opinion isn't good enough.

oneocgossiptreecreek Search and Destroy is in the game. They also added new game modes. The dedicated servers are being rolled out over time - they promised dedicated servers for the game. They didn't promise them on the game's launch day. And graphics? Who the fuck plays multiplayer games for graphics? Any FPS of today looks good, and online multiplayer is never going to be as detailed as a campaign, and this game's campaign does look absolutely stunning. It's not like comparing NES to Genesis. Those days are long gone.

You find the ''I have no idea what I'm doing'' challenge to be the hardest challenge? Phew, you've obviously never attempted the ''Dictator'' challenge in MW2/MW3. For that you needed to fire a LMG magazine (100 bullets!!!) without missing. Yeah, it's that hard, I don't even know why they put that challenge in the game... But,.. This really does work. After I was bored with BO2, I went back to MW2. I was horrible at it. So I slapped on the Deagle and play Deagle only for 5 days strait. After my torture was up. I could aim and track targets way better.

Took me since launch to learn the spawns but I finally got them, and thanks to the new patch it's a lot better on most of the maps. I was about to give up on this game, which would have been disappointing because I like everything about it except for just the spawn system.

You can't "get better" at CoD after 4, because it became an insanely easy and goofy game. You can try to get better at aiming and moment, but that's just a simple and low skillcap of learning adequate twitch reactions and timings. And that's not even on PC where you need to be that much more precise, it's on console which aims automatically for you. I would say that if you want to get better at CoD, or any FPS in that matter, pick up a high-skill one - Arena FPS for movement or realistic FPS for quick and precise aiming. After that CoD would feel like a babby's game, the problem is that those genres are unavailable on consoles.

It does not AIM FOR YOU, it assists you, because when it was first created for console, it was too difficult to aim without the aim assist, which actually helps stick to your target, and is not an auto aim. The reason for this, is before analog sticks at that time of thought, did not have the preciseness of a mouse. Now with heightened sticks allows better preciseness. You sir, are an sad excuse for a sentient being thinking that something does not require skill. Almost everything in the world requires a set amount of skill. Cooking, Baseball, Football, hell even CLEANING has a skill to it, building, creating, and also therefore gaming, on any playing device, of USUALLY any video game, as long as it follows the margins of an actual challenging game.

Arsyyn PC gamers are morons. I had a fucknut the other day telling me that I should buy a gaming PC over Xbox One, and started ripping the Kinect and all of the features of the XBO. Aside from the fact that I'm not buying another $1000+laptop(If XBO was $1k, I wouldn't buy it at all) just so I can play video games on it, I like having a console and a video game controller in my hand. I was playing video games before pc gaming got in style(then died, then recently revived itself), and I always did it on a console. They can take their overpriced PCs and shove them where the sun don't shine.

I prefer to rush and do the objective now. Another way is rolling with a good crew on DOM. 2.11 k/d on Ghosts, although I only started playing on the 16th lol

I did this challenge for two hours straight before watching this video. By the end, you are just raging wanting it to be over. But, I think it can help you if you do well with this strategy. Helps you learn maps, spawns, how to get close to enemies, and how to be patient. That is everything you need in a Call of Duty. Just be smart and don't go wreck yourselves trying. Good luck!

***** Actually the headshot multipliers in Battlefield do far more damage than in cod, so it is possible to get 1-3shot headshot kills at any range, while if shooting someone in the arm or leg or even the chest (where body armor is) would do less damage...if you were shot 3 times in the leg you would not die immediately, rather it would take minutes or hours to bleed out, so yes more bullets to kill in certain areas is much more realistic, although, both games are very far from being REAL

Ghosts is a joke. Nothing but slow paced bs. All you need to be good at this game is a headset and some patience. People hate this game because it's slow paced not because it's difficult. I enjoy Call of Duty for its fast paced action not because I want to think. If I wanted to challenge myself I would play chess not a FPS. Hopefully future CoDs won't be slow paced and boring like this one.

All you ever needed in any COD is a headset and patience. The rest of your comment made me have cancer. You need to think in COD just as much as you don in any FPS game. The reason COD feels easier is because of bad hit detection causing you to feel lucky and fast kill times. But if you ever watched any top tier play from MLG days gun battles took a few seconds. Robby Davis It's a fast paced blur though. It's not skill end to end fast pace. It's fast pace because the spawns are so bad and wedge you in between, in front of and/or next to enemies. Even if it is as you say "faster paced" it's not at all fast paced in a good way.

How to get better at Ghosts: Camp in a corner with the MSBS and noob tubes. The more people you can get in the same building the better. Completely throw out EVERYTHING that was good about call of duty and be the biggest noob possible. Fuck this game. I'm good at the game already, but even after having a great few matches I still don't feel accomplished. Its not fun. I play for half an hour and get want to get off. This isn't BO2 or ANY previous CoD where you can get on and play for 3 or 4 hours. Its shit. I don't ever want to be awesome at this game because doing so will just make me worse at a good CoD.

I remember I did something like this on Battlefield, it was a Premium challenge called Phantom Prospect. You need 200 AR kills, 200 Tank kills, and nail a 300m+ headshot. I did it in less than a day and was proud to don the dog tag.

It holds some truth, because getting this patch is a pain in the ass. The skills you learn trying to brandish the akimbo eyegoggles helps with knife only, too. It'll turn you into the goddamn Predator, and it generates so much salt.

Good idea Drift. Personally just playing the game made me better. My KD is consistently increasing. Knowing the maps and spawn points is crucial. Using weapons and perks that you like and fit your play style are also essential

Big thanks to Drift0r for his continued helpful analysis videos! I did complete this challenge, and have a few things to say about it. The first is that it is a very difficult challenge. It took me about twelve game hours to complete, and my K/D dropped .15 over that period of time. It was really difficult staying committed to the method while you watch game after game go negative in a big way. I also found that the improvements to my game were not quite as dramatic as Drift0r professes here. Picking my honeybadger up again was not like pressing the Easy Button. But I'm not going to say that this was because the challenge was not worth while, but instead because I was already learning some of the things that this challenge teaches you. Where I think this challenge is really beneficial is if you are either, after a few weeks, still really struggling with a negative K/D after a few weeks playing, or if you are just picking the game up (first week or so). That said, I did notice some definite small improvements, and while my k/d dropped .15 in a day, I've just about made up for that the day following. I have noticed that my thought processes have been fine tuned, and I approach situations with a little more caution and awareness. But I still find myself struggling on a few maps and there are still a few instances where the spawn just gets away from me (especially since I attack the spawn as aggressively as I do). What I found even more helpful was Drift0r's advice on the foregrip and focus--two things I've never used in COD, and the moment I started working with them, I noticed a sharp increase in my gun battles. All in all. I don't regret the challenge. The patch is cool, and I love sporting it, and you know if someone else is rocking the patch, they aren't a chump. It did make minor improvements to my game, but not as big as some of Drift0r's other analyses, and I think this more beneficial to gamers who are struggling much more with the game than I was when I tried the challenge. And forget about whether it helps or not, the challenge was just fun. There was just something so satisfying of running into someone and dropping them with two fistfulls of .44 mag authority!

Yeah I liked this game at first and I wasn't terrible but I wasn't playing well. When I was deep in I realized this is a COMPLETELY different game from BO2. I didn't know the challenge so simple learning and repetitiveness with the honey badger made me realize this is the best weapon for my playstyle. I've figured out most of what this game has now, and things really changed after one day when my KD went from 1.11 to 1.20. I now get this game a bit more.

let me start off by saying this is my favorite cod. i got into cod a couple months after mw2. so mw2 i thought was the hardest. But with every cod came a new playing style. But i feel that bo2 was the easiest. run and gun , rush. i felt like god. I got cocky, so when i hated bo2 and went back to mw2, i sucked! i had to relearn to be patoent, not just rush! aim! When ghosts came out i fucking was confused, but happy! i had to relearn how to play cod. and i must say this is the biggest overhaul they have done in the series. i feel mw2 helped me a lil bit, but this game is the most different cod expirence ever. Im always adapting, and i love the challenge. Thats one reason I play Hardcore is because at least in Black Ops 2 when I played Core, I would use an entire clip on someone before they died or I died. Hardcore is the best mode to play IMO. Drift0r's logic makes sense if you are a sensible person but some people just suck at FPS games so there isn't any hope for them but to either camp, not play at all or use the word (GIRL) as a clan tag because at least that way you have sort of an excuse.

This is awesome, I just finished it last night, and have only played one game since I got it. I started this challenge with a 1.119 KD, and after blood, sweat, tears, cursing and lack of sleep I finished this challenge with a 1.004 KD. Absolutely demolished my KD doing this. I played 1 game with my Honey Badger after doing this, and I felt like I was untouchable when I got into gunfights. I used to be the worst gunfighter out there, but now when I get 1v1 in a gunfight, I was winning 9 out of 10. Sure you're going to die a few times from guys flanking you, but you're going to make up the KD you demolish from winning gunfights for sure! This was an awesome tip! Thanks Drift0r

How to be good with akimbo: fire them off one at a time, meaning pull the trigger for one gun, then the other. This way during the time your weapon kick is getting back to normal, you are already shooting another bullet, so you have a slight advantage.

Drift0r, i have always hated the magnum in this game, but somehow i just started trying it for this challenge again and i havent gone negative a single game with it. I went 22-8 with it on freight. There hasnt been a game where i got less than 15 kills, and less than 6 caps because im rushing so much with it. Thanks for giving me something to do in this game and have fun.
