At one time ----------well, by 1995---------I had 887 albums & 1377 45's ! OMFG, was i proud of MY collection !! ---------88% of it was sold to a local collector , Jeff Rowe of " Rowe's Rare Records ", in San Jose CA. For it I got $1500 cash. Did I feel like Judas ??? Ya gawd damn right I did ! And I deserved it. But when I moved here to LA, I knew I could never keep it all here, so sadly, I became Judas . it still hurts 29 years later. And it should. ------MJL, 77 y/o

did you have input on what records and posters decorated cusacks apartment, or was that someone else’s job?
@larrylundy5707 Жыл бұрын
@@tylrr2476 good question. It was a mixed bag. The writers and Cusack had some faves, I wanted a Sun Ra poster. Everything needed clearance.

Man these were the days when there was no cell phones and people seemed more real. I had a great record collection. Some from my mom, my gramps, a couple who were in their 90's and then my own personal collection. Lot's of big band old school mixed with Neil Diamond, orginal beatles, Mightly Lemon Drops, Donavan. All gone now after my families house burned down a few years ago. It's such a shame. I wish I had at least sold them or given them away so they could live on.

I like that the album in the middle hung on the wall is the Thirteenth floor elevators. They are considered the first psychedelic band and they are from texas. I am from texas and run into that rare record from time to time. Depending on condition a first pressing can start up to 500 - 1000. And its a dope record. Whoever picked that knows their stuff, its a holy grail for collectors
@larrylundy57076 ай бұрын
The store never existed. What do you visit, the store front on Milwaukee and Honore? That was used as our exterior. We built the shop on a stage at Chicago Studio City

Beverly D'Angelo is an absolute ROCKET! Lisa Bonet is tremendous but if anything she might be too cool. Joan's character of all of them was the one I liked the most.

The way he takes his hands off the collection once he realizes not everything is as it seems... it's like his moral code won't let him take advantage of another collector's collection

Hopefully this film/book's obsession with Top 5 lists is intended to illustrate that these lists are arbitrary, because it can change in the blink of an eye, too Damn hard to make (especially honestly), and our memory is never on our side when answering these questions. If someone asked me my list perhaps at a certain time period, like middle school, first two years of high school, last two years of high school, and so on. Making a new list every 2-3 years. That, I could do more easily. Alright, my top five during my most formative years, all 4 years of high school. 1:AFI-"Shut your mouth and open your eyes", 2:Thrice-"The Illusion of safety", 3:Bad Religion-"The process of belief", 4:Streetlight Manifesto-"Everything went numb", and 5:Alkaline Trio-"Goddamnit"!
