Gigguk Reacts to RE:ZERO S3 TRAILER + Anime News

To explain the Re:Zero situation, they’ve released official artwork for season 3 showing all the characters appearing in season 3 on it. Notably, this includes characters not just from Arc 5, but also arc 6, including one from the very end of arc 6, thus soft confirming that season 3 will be adapting both arcs 5 and 6, which leakers have corroborated. That being said, all of the trailers and other promotional material as well as episodes announced to date are pertaining solely to Arc 5 which they’re splitting into 2 phases (attack & counterattack) with 8 episodes apiece and a short 2 month break in between. They have not shown or mentioned anything else about arc 6 yet. They’re being very secretive about it for some reason despite the fact that it’s not really that much of a secret anymore since they low key leaked it themselves. Arc 6 will require another 2 cours unto itself to adapt properly, which leakers have been confirming that it will have. Presumably they plan to drip feed more information about arc 6 after the conclusion of arc 5 at which point I assume they’ll take another break. In short, while 16 episodes have been confirmed for arc 5, season 3 is anticipated to have approximately 40 episodes in total give or take to adapt both arcs 5 & 6.

​​​@@user-lh5my4ws8jye, in the Anime EXPO, the directors said that there will be 2 arcs adapted, he's describing the first arc (arc 5) as action oriented arc "there will be a lot of action" and the other one is more traditional re:zero arc which is what re:zero used to "psychological" (Arc 6)

Yo Haruhi Light Novel should continue since there are so many things that still need to be adressed, many of which Anime-Onlys wouldn't really know about. I also hope the Anime gets continued again, so we can get the next major arc adapted(and the smaller stories) as well thats already in the Light Novel and Manga that was really great.

1:25:45 Arc 5 is episodes 1-16 Arc 6 will likely be announced later. It is clear arc 6 will be adapted because of director statement alone. He said firts half would be action heavy which is all of arc 5. And second arc would be Re Zero going back to it's roots which for anyone who read arc 6 knows this is extremely obviously arc 6. Plus a year prior Ice(trusted source) said it was going to be 30-45 episodes and cover both arc 5and 6. Then a few days ago said that they aren't announcing it yet but will still adapt arc 6. And then a year ago the poster showed for S3 showed characters from arc 6 and one in particular appears untill the last 10 chapters of the 90 chapter arc.

I think JJK has its ups and downs but overall, I think the way its ending is pretty alright. A lot of the "manga readers" I've seen complaining about jjk and the current arc, calling it shit, just seem to be either reading only the spoiler coverage or skimming through the chapters. Yes the manga is quite rushed and some parts executed haphazardly, but there's still so much to love about the story, the characters and the story behind their actions, that's always overshadowed by blanket statements like "jjk is trash". Its not a masterpiece or perfect story by any means, but there's still so many great moments, emotional and action wise in the story that's not appreciated enough because its cooler to shit on the manga without acknowledging the nuance of there being bad and good storytelling moments. And this is not me criticising people who have genuine critiques about the story but rather the ones who just say "jjk is trash". That's my two cents that no one asked for, which is maybe biased cause I do have a soft spot for the manga.

I feel like some anime are ok with having only 1 cour. Like AoT, OPM or MP100. But some stories are just not satisfying with only 12 episodes. Imagine if JJK S2 was about Kyoto Goodwill Event and Death Painting? Or if one of MHA seasons was only about 1B class training? It annoys me that anime like Dandadan, Mushoku Tensei and Beastars final season are being split into cours, even tho it's obviously better for them to be 2 cour.
