Game 3 vs the super team Nets (KD/Kyrie/Harden)- he dropped 50 to win that game while carrying a bunch of G-leaguers cause Jaylen and Kemba were out (injured). Basically every year Tatum leads them in points/rebounds/assists in the playoffs every year (including this year) while being doubled and triple teamed.

@danielthompson39285 ай бұрын
That is 💯% correct. The turnovers Brown had was because of the double teams. If we are arguing who can finish better with the double-triple team I would say Tatum but saying that Brown does not get doubled is a crap take. That is literally the reason why he kicks it out. He does not get assists because he does not get the receiver into position first like Tatum does. Tatum has the ball twice as often so it would make sense that he is doubled “more”. Tatum has more assists because Tatum is an amazing distributor and does not get recognized for that part of his game. I have been saying that Brown should be the #1 scoring option and Tatum should be a triple-double machine.

Tatum is a score he needs to shoot through this slump, however unlike brown he is also able to shoot, with out disrupting the rhythm and flow for everybody else and assist to his teammates to counter balance his bad shooting, when brown is off everybody suffers, when Tatum is off, he feeds everybody brown included, because unlike last night brown is usually the recipient in Tatum's playmaking which raises browns shot percentage and his ppg. Tatum's gravity is what is allow us to win, and his usage off it even despite his shooting struggles, which with him being hounded by double teams all the time are understandable if not justifiable. If we lose no one is blaming brown, we all know he is not THE guy for us, he is however a great player and a great shot maker. If we lose all this the blame will fall squarely on tatum, and even though we won with his shooting being bad, we will say its because its his scoring thats the issue. Tatum is so much more than just a 3 level threat on scoring, he is a level headed ball handler and play maker. Brown can certainly get his points, play great defense and even at times get assists, but he turns the ball over more per possession, which is why even though tatum has the ball more often brown turns the ball over almost just as much as him, all while tatum has a double team on him, and brown does not, mind you. This generation of basketball fans overly look into scoring. Brown is a legit defender too do not get me wrong, but tatum is far more versatile, longer and guards bigger stretched of the floor, gets rebounds, and guards the 1-5. Crazy thing is if tatum comes out and goes for 50 in the playoffs, like he did against the bucks you will just suck your teeth and say "finally"and not even give him his props. If we sweep the Mavs and tatum never has a ridiculous scoring night, you will put all the praise on brown and ignore how tatum facilitated KP, and holiday going OFF these last two games, and just say, brown scored more so he is the best!. you are a casual at best man. Tatum went for 18pts 12 assists and 9 rebounds, he struggled to shoot but was the catalyst for our leading scorer in holiday going off. Put some respect on tatums name, he is playing like magic/lebron right now, with elite defense and rebounding.

He is a bucket...but how can you call him smarter if he has less touches, and gets doubles less times per possession as tatum, yet he has roughly the same amount of TOs on less touches, and gets less assists to make up for the points he gave away with his turnovers? HOW? Also tatum has far more pressure and expectation than brown we all know, and so does brown and tatum that if we lose, all the blame is on tatum not brown. So with more pressure, more defensive double teams, tatum turns the ball over less per possession, Gets more assists, scores roughly the same, gets more rebounds and we are going to say brown is better JUST because he scores more, and more efficiently with less double teams, less pressure, and yet brown still turns the ball over at a higher rate? make it make sense man.

JT has been the better player for their entire careers, up until the final minutes of the conference finals, and these finals.
@Themayseffect5 ай бұрын
The argument of JT being constantly double or triple teamed is a false narrative. Tatum makes bad plays that lead to him being TRAPPED, this is not the same as double teaming. He rushes the paint in an attempt to get an easy bucket and runs into a wall of defenders guarding the key. He's consistently done this for several years now and it's rarely ever paid off. Brown on the other hand has played outside of the key and only rushes in when usually there is a clear lane or passes the ball. He's the SG, and that's his job, he does it pretty damn well. The last 2 games this finals proves this. Go to any other Boston playoff series where they either lost or came close to losing and odds are you'll see Tatum at the focal point of bad plays where he gets trapped and turns the ball over.
@delanara23235 ай бұрын
@@Themayseffect the defense always collapes on him if he has a chance to drive by 1 defender but before that they always try to send two man on him if the defense is set up. Its not a false narrative double teams are a tractable stat and tatum consistently gets doubled more. If he was rushing into bad plays and taking bad shots, that would mean the double teams worked, they are not because even when the defensive pressure from the double team stops him from getting his own bucket he flips the switch turns into magic and leads his team in assists as a 6'10 wing lol

False, Jaylen does not get the assist because the players are making an additional pass. Tatum has gotten wide open shots thanks to Jaylen creating space. Tatum is simply a better passer. He passes it into the right spot at the right time. That has nothing to do with being double teamed or not. That is just playmaking in general. Tatum has that in his bag and Brown does not. I still think Tatum has a better overall game but Brown definitely gets doubled as well. Tatum also has the ball twice as often as Brown so that’s probably why it looks like a large disparity.

Outside of PPG and FG% what is brown doing better than tatume? tatum literally kick started and maintained holiday winning the game for us last night, because he was unselfish and made the right passes and raked in all the assists....not to mention his rebounding. If you wanna say brown is better then I better see brown doing off for 40, since tatum is the one drawing double teams, if brown isn't getting 9 assists a game and can dribble by just one defender and is so great he better be getting ATLEAST that much. We all know who tatum is as a scorer, he can go off for 50 if tested and the defense lacks off him, what we all did not know but we are now finding out is that he is an incredible wise and diligent leader, who doesn't just bring everyone else down with him when he is shooting his way through a slump, but one who is distributing the ball to everyone, putting points on the board for the entire team, and getting us a W without having to be the leading scorer

Forcing up shots if you're missing everything, is just bad basketball. He forced another seven threes in game 2, shooting 14 %, and was missing layups. Jaylen Brown does the hardest things, which is defend at an elite level, while at the same time getting you buckets; even if Tatum is being double or triple team, it is very rare to have another player around you that can give you the production that Brown is giving the Celtics. You put Brown with the Mavs and he would be scoring 30pts a game and Mavs would be up 2-0, even if you double or triple him, how many times has he gone through 3 or 4 guys and scored. In this game, the guy collapsed the defense so many times and passed it out for others to score, but if he wanted, all of those passes he could have taken himself and he would of had more than 30pts with his efficiency. He knows that for the team to win, he needs to create for others so that they get easy three pointers.
