With that being said Thibs has more trust with this bench than any other bench he's had. Gil doesn't watch the knicks too much. Thibs was balancing everybody's minutes in the rotation as recently as last year. Look at the first half of the year when they still had Quickley, Grimes, RJ, etc. Knicks didn't have anybody in the top 10 in minutes in the NBA during the regular season. How could that happen without Thibs knowing how to manage a rotation?

Personally, I'd have gone to Alec Burks sooner in the post-season. That being said, the reality is that Thibs went to this shortened rotation at the end of the year. Coaches are known to tighten their rotation during the playoffs (albeit Thibs took it to an extreme). The point I'm making is that Gil's talking as if Thibs has always ran his rotations exactly the way he did at the end of last season. It's just not true. Otherwise, Brunson, Hart, Divincenzo, etc. would all have averaged much higher minute totals throughout the year. That's a pretty simple point.

What they didn’t talk about is that they have no solid backup center. Which means they will play small ball when Mitchell Robinson comes out, and Donte and Hart will still get significant minutes. Plus, it’s the NBA, people get hurt and take games off so they will still be similar (though slightly less impactful) contributors as they were last year.

I'm sure Josh hart and Divincenzo are not complaining about not playing 48 minutes every night, the depth is important, I'm sure even OG happy too cause he's the injury prone one and they have depth in those positions and depth that also provide really good defense as well as spacing. There's ways you can play OG and Randle for 30 minutes a night each, when you have that kind of depth them guys who are injury prone can split that time, even if Bridges plays 36 minutes a night Divincenzo and Josh hart could easily average at least 24 minutes a night between the 3,4 and the 5, at least 7 guys will play 24 minutes, the other minutes are McBride and Achiuwa
