In this episode of In The Kitchen With Matt, I show you how to make a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich in a skillet. I saw someone do this on Facebook or TikTok and thought it was kind of gimmicky, so I decided to try it out. It is actually pretty good! It is like a mix between a grilled cheese sandwich and a bacon omelet. Let me know in the comments if you think it is a gimmick or genius?

Ingredients:
2 eggs
2 slices of bread
2 to 3 slices of cooked bacon, or use ham, etc.
1 to 2 slices of cheese
2 tbsp of butter
Pinch of salt
Pinch of pepper
Tools/Equipment:
Bowl
Fork
Knife
Turner/Spatula

I have made this numerous times but instead of spreading butter on the bread slices, I put the butter in the skillet for cooking the eggs & once the butter is completely melted & bubbling, I take my bread slices & rub them around in the pan & then I take them out & then I finish the recipe from there like you did in your video. People say that if you do it that way, you won't have to worry about tearing the bread due to using hard butter. But it was nice to see you do it your way.

It is a genius idea, Matt! It looked awesome. Can't have the egg myself, but I know I'm gonna get brownie points for making this cheese, bacon and egg sandwich; they're gonna love it. You're right about the salt, but we mustn't forget that not only is the bacon salty, but so too is the cheese. :)

Yes there is, BUT it is still a good idea to add salt to the egg. Or you can easily leave it out if you don't want to.
