Gina, as Cara Dune, was awesome. Her character was strong. Gina herself had the chops to pull off a strong character. In other words, she's very believable as Cara. I would have loved to see where her character could go.

I agree totally and what was so frustrating about it all was her character "Cara Dune" was developing nicely. By end of Season 2 Carson tarver had given her his medal, inviting her to work for the New Republic, so it was all setting things up for where she could go next. I always envisioned that scene in Mando Season 3 when Carson tarver is walking upto the NR Headquarters, as being originally Cara Dune, turning up and her meeting Senator Leia Organa; just imagine the two meeting and remembering all their fallen bros and sisters on Alderaan, and Leia offering her a special job. Gina as a actress and her character Cara Dune are the embodiment of the very thing Disney keeps preaching about the - "Strong Independent Female"; so it's rather weird why they would seek to get rid of her the way they did. Aren't Disney and Kathleen Kennedy supposed to be championing Strong, Independent, free minded Women!? 🤔

As a female I totally understand being bullied for your interests. I loved Star Wars as a kid and would play with the boys and only one girl friend at recess because we played a game we made up to do with Star Wars. Her and I got to be the badass female characters. I never fit in with the girls I went to school with because my interests were always in things mostly likely by boys. Star Wars and Lord of The Rings. I was never into Disney princesses (other than Mulan) and never did anything excessively girly. I was a tomboy at heart and I still am. I wasn’t bullied for those interests, I hid them till my later teens when I started to feel comfortable and accept myself. I was bullied for being an equestrian (horse rider) and drawing horses. Now it’s apparently hot to be an equestrian and all the influencers are trying it but they are doing poorly because they are trying to glamorize and sexualize the sport.

I’m still fascinated to hear that people were bullied for liking Star Wars. I was 3 when A New Hope Came out in 77 and was a fanatic through out my life and never came close to getting ridiculed. Different generation I guess

Like you I was bullied for liking Star Wars, going to church and volunteering within the community, and helping others. There were some really dark times over the years that saw myself go down some dark paths but Star Wars was always a light of hope. Hearing you and when reading comments that others had the same and similar experiences growing up makes me feel less alone. Hope Gina gets justice, it was wrong what happened to her. The world has become incredibly polarised, we are all able to believe in what we want.

Thank you for talking about the bullying. I was bullied in Jr High and I don't mean I was made fun of by a couple for having big ears or something. I had a nickname that literally the entire school knew and referred to me by. I would get called this name dozens of times a day. I never had a friend there, and to this day I am still seeing the effects the trama did to me (im 42). So thank you.

As someone who honestly does lean republican my views are similar to Gina’s and yours, we’re all human, why the heck are we criminalizing each other over stupid things. Let’s all treat each other with respect and dignity because our similarities far outweigh our differences. I watch nascar, recently a driver was fired from his ride for liking a instagram post, not sharing, liking. A world where we can’t find humor, where we must tiptoe over glass should we dare voice our true feelings and opinions is not the world our founding fathers wanted. The only problem with that is that Disney had every right to fire her they asked her numerous times to stop posting trollish election fraud conspiracy content and misinformation about Covid, Pedro was doing something similar but the only difference is when Disney asked him to stop he actually did and was able to keep his job, Disney like any business has rules and regulations that employees must follow, so no they didn’t fire her for her “opinion” they fired her for being a troll

The way I see all of this, Gina HAS already WON! Even if she doesn't win in court &/or nothing will be settled in her favor, she has already won! The richest man in the world is on her side! Gina & Elon have joined forces against Disney/Lucasfilm. That this has happened at all, & also for the best of reasons, is a major win, for Gina & for all of us. Elon's tweet about helping anyone that lost their job because of their freedom of speech on Twitter/X applies to anyone that asks for the help, but Gina may end up being the most famous for his lawyers to help in this matter. And because Gina has some fame she won't blow under anybody's radar. Gina suing Disney is news now = more bad PR for Disney & Lucasfilm, especially at a perfect timing right now. That Gina is in the news for a positive reason now is a win for her, no matter how it will go from here. While it is a massive PR disaster, on top of older yet recent PR disasters for Disney & Lucasfilm. 2024 has still barely started & this has not been a good year for Lucasfilm or Disney thus far. Gina doing this right now, with Elon's help, at this perfect timing is a massive win! She should & hopefully can win more from all this, but even if she doesn't she will still be the winner. The PR nightmare hitting Disney & Lucasfilm & KK from this is karma. They brought this entirely on to themselves, this never needed to happen. They, by their own incompetence & insane bullying & hypocrisy, are the loosers. We don't need to wait to see Lucasfilm loose, they already are loosers. They were the second they fired Gina but finally the consequences of that hits them so it damages them back.

They not only fired her. They made sure to demonize her and destroy her career with that public Twitter accusation of "abhorrent" tweets, which was such an exaggeration as to be an outright lie. They persecuted her because she didn't tow their political line and then destroyed her dreams. Nah they just fired her then said "also those tweets were abhorrent and they don't agree with them". That was after several warnings and her missing the meeting. According to what Gina has been saying herself. She just kept talking about it for 3 years and Lucasfilm and Disney responded. She could've just moved on with her career and leave the bad blood she had behind closed doors. Instead she decided to be a culture warrior and be used by the likes of Elon Musk strictly for financial purposes

As i always was thinking: Disney shot themselves in the foot when they fired Gina. They did not hurt her, they hurt themselves in the long run. I usually don't wish people ill, but i really hope that this now completely backfires on Disney. This could potentially be a reality check for them and this can be only better for them, Gina (who finally gets some deserved justice hopefully) and maybe hopefully for us fans, too although the latter is highly unlikely (i know that), because Disney is big, Disney is huge and has a mountain range of money, they will not change just because of "this little incident". And sadly this is another thing that can happen: This lawsuit could end nowhere and be downplayed a lot by Disney, so much so that it does not even make a tiny scratch into the ego of Disney. I hope it does not end up like that, but rather backfires heavily against Disney. Their firing of Gina was unfair and unprofessional at the very least. I mean, how can you hire someone to do work for you and then the moment some stupid rumors come up you just toss them out, even if they did prove to be worth getting hired, because they did an amazing job. Probably nobody wanted her to get fired, they only wanted to hang someone on the gallows again, they only wanted to have another witch hunt, even though this practice has been forbidden (probably by law AND general moral standards) for hundreds of years now and it's sad that humanity cannot evolve beyond mistakes and failures like this from the past. There are currently other things where this could also be applied to, but these are different stories (in short: Russia vs Ukraine. Has nothing to do with this, but still another example of "History repeating itself"). But what am i saying here, whatever the heck i am writing here will also probably not make any mark on anyone or anything. After all, what's one single comment on any KZbin video really worth? Absolutely nothing, it's just another wall of text. However, these were my thoughts, just wanted to share and also kinda vent a little bit to be honest.

Go seek help And learn that Making people censor themselves will have worse repercussions than you.
