I have it on good authority, that on school enrollment forms in the Los Angeles area, students are given the choice to check their ethnicity. Hispanic/ Latino is one of the choices. THEN there is the option to check your race..More often than not, the Hispanic/Latino checks the box labeled WHITE. Granted this is at a particular school, however I believe it is district wide. It is eye opening that the option is even given.
