Ginger...my sister in law died from fentanyl and narcan wasn’t there to save her. Please get into rehab while you still have a chance. You are a beautiful and intelligent girl just like her. She wasn’t homeless, she was a high end hairdresser, no one even knew. Our family is devastated and I don’t want that for your family. You can do so much better. 🙏❤️

I recently came across these videos on my recommended and I’ve been binge watching because I’m so interested with every story and wishing everyone nothing but the best only because I have people that are close to me who are addicts and wondering what makes them continue to do what they do and these videos makes me have better sense of it all but still makes me so sad but I’ll continue to have hope. I pray for ginger, and all these other girls and guys out on these streets. And I don’t even believe in anything, except the power of love and forgiveness. Having a father who abandoned me for a life of heroin, crack, traphouses, on the streets, I only held resentment towards people who resort to the use of illicit substances. Your videos have helped me get a grasp on the true reality of the issue, and the nuances of mental health, and the economic state of cities like Detroit. We truly need to help these people. By doing just as much as sending a package, or kind words, we can help these people get out of the shitty place life threw them. Instead of shaming these people, who are just as warm, compassionate, and receptive to hatred and criticism as we are, we need to help them, each and every one of us, with whatever small gesture we can. If not, the corporate machine that oppresses these people to a life of squalor on the streets will never end its ways. Chosen Won, despite people’s misunderstandings of your intentions, you are no more than a kind, compassionate civilian who has helped bring attention to this heartbreaking crisis. We have moved from pushing the Narcan too fast (working on the ambulance). Inter-muscular, or IV seems to provide a safer route. Also, if we can support the airway, Narcan not always used. It is an ugly, painful treatment BUT if the alternative is the patient's demise, use the Narcan. It only re does one thing, reversed the opiate overdose so that the patient's own respiratory drive returns. So glad someone was there Ginger, that is powerful to hear how many times it was used to save you. Many addicts, the newer ones, do not realize after jail the change in their tolerance can make that first time after release, can be the last :(

I've read that it stops working after too many uses and/or more needs to be given. I found my boyfriend dead from a heroin overdose- I wish I had found him sooner so that I could have given him a dose of narcan but his situation is kinda strange.

I think its a nickname. In the first interview when he asked her name she hesitated and then he said you can use a nickname or streetname etc so she said Ginger. If you listen to her overdose story she says her real name, probably not even thinking.
