Simon is my favorite GM by far... yes there are better players, but since I started watching his videos in 2015 my chess rating has improved massively! I went from 1300 to 1900 because I can relate with Simon and his teaching style. Why isn't he the top streamer like Gotham chess? His videos are much more entertaining in my opinion.
@TSMC1235 ай бұрын
1. He doesn't appeal to kids who are the most dominant group on social media. 2. His videos are not as polished (which I like but not commercially advantageous ).
@adomaskuzinas21373 ай бұрын
@@TSMC123 Simons content is quite niche, as it happens some people enjoy niche stuff immensely, although the average audience usually goes for dull content made for broader masses, like Gotham's.

Hey, besides a bit dissapointing middle-late play (against very strong opponents) it seems you have improved a bit on your last 20 second jitters and mouse handling. Keep it up bro, you're an inspiration for many

Hello! I've been enjoyed these TT videos. Your frustration is very relatable to me haha.. obviously you are doing it at a much higher level though :). Wonder if there's something in not worrying about the results and just playing to play your amazing exciting attacking chess? Anyway thanks for the videos!

Important idea for future Bird's games: I noticed the computer line you skipped over after 12.Qh5 g6. The computer says the surprising Nxg6 is possible because of takes and then Qb5+ at the end. Boom!

Great stuff! I like how you're getting such interesting games from the Bird's. I've toyed with it since the 90s, pretty much for the reasons you've mentioned, you just get games you can't get in other ways, so I'm really enjoying seeing how you're interpreting the positions.
@guywheatley40005 ай бұрын
"The Dream is alive! Cant we do it?! A bit more confident with the Bird's--let's crush it!" With 10 minutes left means it'll end on a middle-game heartbreak and withdraw. Still loved the interesting and dynamic chess. Thought you got plenty of creative positions out of the opening with loads of combinative possibilities (especially that last game) I think at 3 2 time control it's just a bit much to calculate under-the-gun. The way you play the Bird's is invigorating, hardly surprising from the world's greatest classical Dutch player. Loved the English Defence and an old-school Winawer into the mix too. I guess you think your French theory is "under a cloud" but you just understand those French pawn structures and piece play so well.

Simon, every week I look forward to Wednesday when you upload your trial and tribulations in TT. Please don't stop making these videos, as you bring so much pleasure through your obvious pain. Remember that the low moments render your victories even more sweeter to witness.

No need for apologies when you're paving the way with your off-the-wall antics. The nerve to drop a "sorry" after being the ringmaster of a whirlwind of hilarity! And dishing out apologies for serving up a tornado of wild chess that reign supreme in the realm of good times is like treating the winter of rigid results reigning supreme over the dimensions of pleasure.

Would please consider playing the English Defence sometime. You have played it a bit I beleive. It is basically a Classic Dutch with a Queen's Indian set up and some Nimzo options. It would fit into you rep very well. I have played the English Def myself a bit but would like so see an attacking person play it who would know how to exploit the Dutch elements. Just an idea.
