Do yourself a favor, scrap that diaphram accumulator and replace it with a piston accumulator from Hydac, Parker, etc.. The leakage rate is one-tenth that of the diaphram so your pre-charge will last 10 times more. If you are going to keep the car make the change. You´re talking about 200 Euros and it will outlive the car.

It's worth sending the old accumulator away to have it looked at. This is basically a Citroen system and recharging spheres is pretty common in that scene as long as the membrane hasn't been damaged. A Citroen specialist would probably be the best people to speak to.

I have an advice for you for the future. Epoxy based paints are great for protecting stuff from coroding, but they also accelerate corrosion more than salt if they are overheated (over 200 degrees of Celcius). Because of that its pretty bad idea to use it on stuff that gets hot (like brake parts, colling of the engine and others). If I were you I would just use high temperature paint instead of epoxy. It should last quite a bit if applied as you did. Other than that everything looks good, cheers!

I so wish you were around when I had my 1990 750iL! Got most of it figured out on my own but my skills pale in comparison to yours. Love the channel no matter which car you're working on - great content, information and a 750iL load of humor! :) EDIT: those rims are similar to what I have on my 1990 535i (they are from an e39 - still have the original e34 rims) but I did put on the BMW sourced center caps that always stay in the correct orientation. B) EDIT, again: did all that brake bomb stuff, as well as the rear bombs, on the 750iL, (sorry for editing as I follow along) not fun, also, I have some really easy tips for the seat twist fix since I had one on my 1990 525i and my 1990 750iL - fortunately, my 1990 535i has yet to see this. :) Again, thanks, Willy ... er, Sreten. Oh, also, you'll have to drill out the rivets on the window regulator and replace with 6mmx10 bolts and nuts (or reinstall new rivets, I'm not your Dad - don''t recommend that because you're going to have to do it again, one day) - did that on all three cars - a bit of a pain but not difficult. Oh, yeah, then you have the self- leveling control adjustment (you've already done the system, as I remember) and, then, the steering adjustment to center wheel again before you drive with the existing steering box, but, if you're replacing the steering box, that shouldn't be an issue but you'll still have to adjust it. Indeed, fun car. :D Sorry for so many edits ... this 750iL e32 was the love of my life while, at the same time, being the bane of my life. I wouldn't trade the experience for anything, though. :)

on the topic of grease and rubber bushings on the brakes. The ATE instruction actually says to use grease to mount the rubber bushings on the OUTSIDE of the rubber bushings. The BMW repair manual is right here and its not contradicting to the ATE instruction. You already mentioned the reason not to use grease on the bolts, it collects dirt. The rubber bishings from ATE are made of a special rubber mixture including graphene as a dry lube. Other manufacturers (like autofren) dont have this rubber mixture with graphene, that's why I only use ATE or BMW bushings. Hope that helps.

Pozdrav Sreten! The bad steering is often caused by a faulty Servotronic control unit not by a dead pump! You can easily check that and disconnect the control unit and stick the both connectors into each other. After a start you should have a full powered steering suppot again! Its an common issue! The unit is behind the leeft footwell speaker! Pozdrav from Zlatko with the 1,8 mio kilometers 750i ;)

Those aftermarket wheels were awful. The OEM wheels transform the look of the 750iL. Perfect.

Having worked on BMW's for most of your life, I'd like to see some buyer guides for the various models you've worked on, and list the common problems with prices for getting them fixed, etc. With your first-hand experience I feel like it would be amazing. Also because you show us in each and every video what it feels like to work on something you at least have the idea of. Thumbs up if you agree!👍🏻

Thank you for telling the whole story of the break accumulator and its non-availability. I am now cured of my urge to get one of these cars :(
