Cliffe Knechtle has a good dialogue with students at Texas State University. Recorded in October 2014.
The "Give Me An Answer" ministry began as an outgrowth of the dialogues Cliffe Knechtle has had with students on various university campuses throughout the United States. These universities include the University of Maine, Harvard, MIT, University of Florida, University of Texas, University of Wisconsin, University of Minnesota, University of California Los Angeles, University of California San Diego, Berkeley, Stanford, University of Hawaii and the University of Washington. Cliffe spoke on these campuses in front of the Student Union or Library at noon for five to ten minutes. At the close of his initial remarks, he'd open up the time for questions and answers, which usually turned into a two to four hour dialogue with students. His crowd size ranged from 25 - 500 students at a time, and between classes, new students would join the discussion. This is an extremely effective way to reach a large number of university students with the Gospel of Christ.

You can tell these students were raised in a culture that had faith in the minimization of differences, the very opposite of true diversity. I was raised Jewish, became a Freudian type atheist, became a New Age spiritualist, then a Tibetan Buddhist, then a Zen Buddhist, and then I entered the world of Hindu gurus and spiritual practices. These kids were steeped in relativism and ripped from true logic. I came to Christ, kicking and screaming, because using logic and the historical and literary evidence. I became convinced that Jesus is a character in history that no one on Earth could have made up. He was one of a kind and the very paragon of the virtue I seek. I am thankful to Him every day. To Cliff: Thank you for your service to your fellow man.

Thank you for your testimony and insights! So hard for people to pull themselves out of their own cultures way of thinking. Tends to be why those of us when young who traveled to different countries had their eyes opened up to different cultures and ways of living. Good exercise in self reflection on realizing that your culture is not exclusive around the world!

Jesus's apostles had given up on Him when he died. They were running scared and then something happens that makes them do a 180. Those same men turned the world upside down. Burning with the knowledge that they were backing the right horse they went out and spread the Word to the whole world without worry of retribution or the reprisals that were sure to come. And those reprisals surely did come... to the point of violent awful deaths by most of the original group. Now answer the question: what did they have to gain by living this life? Nothing. They did it because when the One true God comes down, befriends you, teaches principals that seem to go against everything you think you know, heals the sick, dies a horrible death and then walks out of the tomb 3 days later and shows Himself to over 500 people you do exactly as they did... SPREAD THE GOOD NEWS!!!!

They have the same evidence everyone else has. They just refuse to acknowledge God. “ For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen , being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse” Romans 1:20. “ And because they did not think it was worthwhile to acknowledge God, God delivered them over to a worthless ( corrupt) mind so that they do what is immoral.” Romans 1:28. Unbelievers are always searching for an excuse and Satan has excuses by the bucket full.

God created the families we cherish so much, and He flows the love through us to want no one to suffer. So to those who are misunderstanding Him, through having wrong definitions, and not following logic, please read Genesis 3 and Genesis 9:5 & 6 to understand the First Blood Principle. He is perfect goodness and altruistic love. That is what He chooses. That is represented by Him calling the light "good" and proclaiming its Victory over darkness! Even if you were related to someone on earth in what should have been a perfect, transparently honest relationship of love, they have the freedom and ability to hide from you what they are like in their heart of hearts. When the body veil dies, our true souls are revealed. A person is then sent to the company they chose in the supernatural world beyond this one. Super means above, and you know what nature is. There is a higher state where spirit rules, and you choose the sort of spirit that you want to be and be with forever. So what do you choose? Dishonesty or Truth? Selfishness or Love? Humble Friendship or Arrogant Hierarchy? If you choose against friendship, you won't enjoy being with beings who also do that! But if you choose Friendship and Love, you will be needing some help being changed from the default selfishness that we inherited from Adam & Eve when they fell. That Help is called Yahushua Ha Mashiach, Jesus The Saviour. Jesus means "Help" in Hebrew, and He can change you into Love...

Appropriate for likely the majority of the students that dialogue with Cliffe about the sameness of all religions but especially here, is an article written by Steven Turner back in the 70s or 80s, but very relevant today, called Turner's Creed. It's a hilarious spoof on confused and confusing modern secular thought and culture -- but with a chilling ending. I like to call it National Enquirer theology: TURNER'S CREED by Steve Turner We believe in Marx, Freud, and Darwin. We believe everything you do is OK, as long as you don’t hurt anyone to the best of your definition of hurt, and to the best of your knowledge. We believe in sex before, during, and after marriage. We believe in the therapy of sin. We believe that taboos are taboo. We believe that everything’s getting better, despite evidence to the contrary. The evidence must be investigated and you can prove anything with evidence. We believe there’s something in horoscopes, UFO’s and bent spoons. We believe Jesus was a good man just like Buddha, Mohammed, and ourselves. He was a good moral teacher though we think his good morals were bad. We believe that all religions are basically the same - at least the one that we read was. They all believe in love and goodness. They only differ on matters of creation, sin, heaven, hell, God, and salvation. We believe that after death comes the Nothing. Because when you ask the dead what happens they say nothing. But if death is not the end, if the dead have lied, then it’s compulsory heaven for all excepting perhaps Hitler, Stalin, and Genghis Kahn. We believe in Masters and Johnson. What’s selected is average. What’s average is normal. What’s normal is good. We believe in total disarmament. We believe there are direct links between warfare and bloodshed. Americans should beat their guns into tractors. And the Russians would be sure to follow. We believe that man is essentially good. It’s only his behavior that lets him down. This is the fault of society. Society is the fault of conditions. Conditions are the fault of society. We believe that each man must find the truth that is right for him. Reality will adapt accordingly. The universe will readjust. History will alter. We believe that there is no absolute truth excepting the truth that there is no absolute truth. We believe in the rejection of creeds and the flowering of individual thought. *** If Chance be the Father of all flesh, then disaster is his rainbow in the sky. And when you hear: State of Emergency! Sniper Kills Ten! Troops on Rampage! Youths Go Looting! Bomb Blasts School! It is but the sound of man worshipping his Maker. .

Here's an interesting thought, when you think about it, every night when you are in deep sleep, and you are not dreaming, you are to all intents and purposes effectively dead-like. Of course your heart and other organs are still functioning, you are obviously still alive, but when your brain isn't working your conscious mind is nowhere. I think death will be pretty much the same, it's not an uncomfortable thought for me. Mark Twain famously said "Before I was born I was nothing for billions of years and it didn't inconvenience me in the slightest". Cliffe is absolutely correct, ..everybody dies :-)

Daniel Spaniel Well, you are free to believe that if you wish Daniel, I can see an appeal to that but there is no evidence to believe it's true as far as I can ascertain. And I agree with you about Hell, it's not an appealing thought and that's one of the reasons why I reject Christianity. No sentient being that ever lived deserves any kind of punishment that goes on forever without end IMHO.

+bonnie43uk in Christian circles, it is debatable whether hell is eternal or if the person is eventually destroyed. but christians would say there is punishment/justice and the consequences are serious and eternal. but whether the suffering is eternal is not clear.
@bonnie43uk
@bonnie43uk 8 жыл бұрын
john lee Yes indeed john, it depends which Christian you speak to as to whether hell is some kind of eternal punishment or whether it's this 'separation from God'. I think Hell is a human construct ( and heaven come to that), we have no real idea what comes after death, I can see good reasons why mankind dreamed up these concepts of heaven and hell, when our loved one die, it's comforting to think they have gone to a better place, or that people who have done really bad things should be punished once they die in some form of hell. Jesus spoke of wailing and gnashing of teeth in reference to hell I believe, I wonder what that is all about ! It doesn't sound nice anyway :-)
@localguide1611
@localguide1611 8 жыл бұрын
+bonnie43uk gnashing teeth is probably because there's no toothpaste in hell. i guess there's no proof of hell. but there is a lot of evidence of some kind of spiritual world from people's experiences. i think probably every country and I'd say there must millions of people throughout history who have experienced the spiritual world either seeing spirits or thing like Ouija boards. i know quite a few people dabbled in the spiritual world. maybe they are aliens? who knows but it has all the hallmarks of spirits. and if you go to asian or African countries where demonic worship is more widespread, it is much more common people see or experience spirits. some of course could be dillussional but too many have seen such things. whether these spirits are from mars or heaven or earth, there's no real evidence. but my friend used a Ouija board once and asked spirit if they were evil or good. the spirit spelled out "HELL".
@localguide1611

+bonnie43uk actually, the story is he asked if the spirit was from heaven or hell. the board spelled out "HEL" and he ran before it finished. and my friend isn't mentally disturbed, as far is i know so far.

We understand equal and opposite we also understand if we have a substance then the opposite is no substance not having that thing. We have always had space, matter and time so we have no reference for spaceless timeless and matterless if i say this item weighs 10glibberbomb you have no reference to how much that weighs so of course it is hard to understand Eternity you only know time. The big bang shows space matter and time beginning at the same moment so what ever caused space matter and time to come into being must be spaceless matterless and timeless which we call God and the bible is how we get to know God.

I don't know who needs to hear this, but a near death experience is not death. If you're on a trip and you're near your destination, you're still not there. You're near it. Jesus died, was buried, then three days later, rose from the dead. Your heart stopping for a few minutes is not qualitatively the same thing.
@gingercake0907

They confuse resuscitation with resurrection. Resuscitation is being brought back to consciousness, resurrection is being raised from the dead with an incorruptible body that won’t die again. A resuscitated person will eventually die. Reincarnation is dying and being reborn into another animal form, you die a mouse and comeback a rabbit.

That’s because Satan is influencing them. They could witness a shooting and would expect the police to believe their eye witness account but for some reason they can’t believe the eye witness account of Jesus’s resurrection by the disciples and others. Now the police and prosecutors and judges will read their eye witness accounts and the jurors will read and hear their eye witness accounts but they can’t believe the eye witness accounts written in the Bible. That’s hypocrisy and the father of hypocrisy and lies is Satan.

@lsubslimed
@lsubslimed 7 жыл бұрын
Tejendra Chapagain I mean no disrespect brother, but that is so far from the truth presented in the gospels. The major principle of "Christianity", or Christ Himself rather, is that mankind has fallen and is dead in "his" sins, so Christ came and died on the cross for us that we might be saved from the righteous judgement of our sin(s), and that we might have eternal life in and with Him. We need to be FULLY saved back to God so that we can live out the purpose for which we were originally created, by being saved much more in His life each and everyday and allowing Him to fully make His home in our hearts, thus permeating and saturating our spirits our souls and even eventually our bodies with His divine life and nature (Himself). The reason we were created in the first place was so that we could take God as our life by the means of eating of the tree of life (which signifies Christ) in order that we might firstly express Him, and secondly represent Him and His authority on the earth by dealing away with Satan and all that followed him in his rebellion. I really enjoy Romans 5:10: " For if we, being enemies, were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more we will be saved in His Life, having been reconciled." Amen! This tells us that our redemption, accomplished for us by Christ's death, is only the first part of our salvation. After being reconciled back to God, we then need to continue being saved daily in Christ's life for the transformation of our souls. Grace be with you :)

There are some topics that I don't agree with Cliff such as... 1) The authority of the Bible. The Bible says "Holy man of God wrote it as they are moved by the Holy Ghost". So the bible is not from man but God. God is the author of the bible. It is not just historical documents but living, breathing, talking word of God. 2) sorry to say that but Cliff looks he doesn't have much knowledge about Islam. The Qur'an is not preserved book infact the first compilation of the Qur'an was 1924. The Qur'an is not worth of fiction book full of contradictions, poor literature, no flow, very confusing and demonic book. Not only that, Hitler looks good man comparing to Mohammed life and his teaching. I am not discrediting Cliff but there are things we have to take more seriously. God bless, Jesus is risen in deed.

+GBAConnecticut What you do not realise is that the aim of the video is to not show Cliffe winning but to present his work in an attempt to reach wider audiences. This is not a debate show. This is about a preacher preaching. Nobody goes from here thinking that Cliffe is the best debater in the world. They come to see the interaction. So I don't know what is the problem about.

John Love "This is not a debate show" If two people discussing opposing views is NOT a debate. What do you consider a debate? The Christian ideas that Cliffe presents always wins out. What I want to know is that because the Christian ideas are better or are better opposing ideas edited out. (I'm not accusing, just would like to eliminate the question. Finally if this is to"see the interaction" then why have an issue with the unedited version.
@johnlove2954

GBAConnecticut There is a difference between debate and conversation. And there is a difference between a show with debate and a debate show. The reason Cliffe does not post unedited version is probably because there are some irrelevant parts that Cliffe thinks are unnecessary. If you see he spends a great deal of time in college. If he uploaded the full video, I bet not many would want to watch that number of hours with many parts where nothing interesting happens.

These students need to realize that there is NO reason to believe any “good” teaching from any teacher unless the authority of their words comes from Omniscience, God; only God’s Word has any authority. The question is not, “Do Jesus Christ’s teachings seem good?” ; for that question supposes that we have sufficient authority within ourselves to judge goodness. But rather, the proper question is, “Are Christ’s teachings from God, from omniscience?” For only God has sufficient knowledge, wisdom, goodness and authority to declare absolute, objective truth and goodness with authority to us.
