The "Give Me An Answer" ministry began as an outgrowth of the dialogues Cliffe Knechtle has had with students on various university campuses throughout the United States. These universities include the University of Maine, Harvard, MIT, University of Florida, University of Texas, University of Wisconsin, University of Minnesota, University of California Los Angeles, University of California San Diego, Berkeley, Stanford, University of Hawaii and the University of Washington. Cliffe spoke on these campuses in front of the Student Union or Library at noon for five to ten minutes. At the close of his initial remarks, he'd open up the time for questions and answers, which usually turned into a two to four hour dialogue with students. His crowd size ranged from 25 - 500 students at a time, and between classes, new students would join the discussion. This is an extremely effective way to reach a large number of university students with the Gospel of Christ.

This makes sense once you realize that the authors were trying to make Jesus match up with various claimed Hebrew prophecies that were in reference to the Hebrew messiah. Saying they emphaiszed didfferent things doesn't get you around birth narratives where he is born in at least two different places, for example. Have you ever compared the gospels side by side? You would see many discrepancies if you did. And by apocryphal I mean the books not included in popular or Catholic Bibles. Did you know that Catholic versions have more books than KJV or NIV? I'd have to look again but Thomas might be considered apocryphal. Iirc there's one where Jesus, as a child, kills another child out of anger.

@@whatwecalllife7034 I take issue with a lot of what you said lol. Firstly there are apocryphal books, extracanonical books, and psuedopigraphyl books. Secondly the original KJV had what we know as the apocrypha which are writings before the time of Jesus that are now only recognized as canon by the Roman Catholic Church and I think maybe Eastern Orthodox. Thirdly, Matthew and Luke, which speak of Jesus' birth, both say he was born in Bethlehem. Matthew 2:1, Luke 2:4-7 The Gospels don't have discrepancies, there are reasons for different details, one is so that it's clear the Gospels were not copied from eachother, they each contribute. Lastly, we know the Gospel of Thomas (which is where you get the claim about Jesus as a child) should not be in the Biblical cannon because it's fake, it is dated after all apostolic authority was gone, which was how we determined cannon, it doesn't agree with what was determined as cannon through apostolic authority, and also it teaches Gnosticism which is an entirely different teaching than the other parts of the Bible, so with the presupposition that God is revealing his inerrant word, it becomes so clear and evident that the lost gospels are not inspired. It's a case of one of these things is not like the other. Give me some good old Biblical contradictions if you think you have any I can't refute, give me your best and they better be superior to your one about Jesus' birthplace because that was pathetic.

@@mackdmara I personally as an atheist have faith in NOTHING . I have TRUST which is completely different . My trust is given tentatively and is not unconditional. It is based on EVIDENCE and my levels of trust in something are directly related and proportional to the amount of evidence that supports it. The more evidence the more trust , it can also be withdraw if the evidence changes. My level of trust is also proportional to the importance of that which I am placing my trust in . So for example if a stranger asked to borrow 20 cents that he would pay me back, I wouldn't require much trust in him to say yes. However if that stranger were to say "let me pack your parachute for you" , that's a different matter. FAITH on the other hand is something given unconditionally and does not require EVIDENCE. I regard faith as the most irrational dishonest position possible to hold. As many have said before me there is no belief or proposition that could not justified using faith. No god , no matter how bizarre unlikely or evil could be discounted. Could I not believe in thor , zeus or even the kraken based solely on faith. I could believe it was a good thing to eat babies or that one particular race were superior to another based solely on faith. Faith is what ALL religions require because they have no evidence. If you have the evidence you don't need the faith simple as. Faith is about the ability to believe what YOU WANT to be true rather than actual truth itself , like an afterlife for example. Hebrews 11 talks of this replacing evidence with faith in "things hoped for that are unseen," its literally the enabling of belief in the things you want to be true but dont have evidence for.

This is translated from the Greek word Pistus which means a belief founded on knowns. The original use of the word translated as, *"faith" in the Epistles is a belief founded on evidence that gives a reason to trust.* Of course, you will find people who define it as you do, a blind trust, but that isn't Biblical. Biblically speaking you do have *Faith* as you defined what you believe. I don't care if you ever use it that way though. Any synonym is fine. Second, what you just gave me is your Philosophy. This requires that you take Philosophy has the merit to give truth. Ok then, so I have to ask what you know if you want evidence you can use to give you a proper, "FAITH". Answer whatever question you feel would apply the best, all, or some. 1)Is this world real? 2)Is astrophysics a good source of data for an argument about reality? 3)Is medical science a good source of data about reality? 4)Is it possible to have science without a historical record? 5)Is history a good source for data about reality? 6)Is the multiverse metaphysics or physics? 7) Is it possible to verify the supernatural with science, given that science assumes naturalism? Please let me know which you are answering by giving at least the number in front. I don't want to waste your time due to a lack of clarity. As many or few as you like & please on one word answers or 50 page books on each. Succinctly, but not truncated. Finally, I was an atheist for as long as I had known about God. That changed as I looked into it & it wasn't just a blind acceptance of what I was told. If you want a more likely than not hypothetical that gives God as real, I can give that. You have to be honest with it though. That is on you. If there is no better truth to be had, you cannot punt to mystery lightly.

I’m new to watching this pastor. He’s very intelligent.I am not educated. I am blown away that any of these students could read the Bible and not know exactly who Jesus is.I’m more shocked that they have doubts there is a God. Even some of them think they are their god. My soul has great fear for them. I find it a great honor that Jesus revealed himself to me as God alone is a miracle.I want to say watching this showed me how long it’s been since I repented for sinning.I have a huge dilemma. I’m old now and have always had extremely difficulty with relationships. I am married.I have only had one friend in my life when I was a child. I got saved in 1980. Yes, the Sabbath being the last day of the week falls on a Saturday. Hence, some gather for worship on a Saturday. Many Christians gather for corporate worship on a Sunday as this was the day Jesus rose. The great thing is, God is the creator of each day and we are to worship God every day, so Sunday is just as good as Saturday. When Jesus came into the world He perfectly fulfiled the law that no-one could and each day belongs to Him. The day doesn't matter but what does is that we are to worship Christ in Spirit and truth (John 4:24).

The Jewish christians had this contention with Gentile converts and wanted them to adopt the Mosaic Law and Jewish traditions to validate true conversion. After the Apostles met and discussed the matter (Acts 15) they agreed on abstaining from food polluted by idols, sexual immorality and the food/ meat that has gone through strangulation and from blood (Acts 15:19-20). THERE IS NO MENTION OF SABBATH KEEPING. There is freedom in Christ because we are not under the law, only Christ fulfilled it perfectly (Romans 8:21, 2 Corinthians 3:17 and Galatians 5:1).At the same time a christian is very welcome to keep the sabbath because again they have freedom in Christ. Neither parties are to lord it over the other or judge one another (Colossians 2:16).

The Council of Nicea was not about making Jesus divine or anything remotely close to it. It was only about deciding whether Jesus was a created being or he always existed with the Father, never that he wasn't divine. Because this point was already long since decided in, among many other places, the first chapter of John, for which we have manuscripts that looooooong predate the council, the vote was not close. It was 95% in favor of Jesus being past-eternal with the Father. The sect that came up with this idea that was making the rounds was beaten so badly as to be almost within the margin of error of unanimity. In other words, it was, Jesus was not created. DUH.

Just a theory on why Jesus didnt/couldn't share the the time the world would end on account of free will. How people behave and disobey God vary and that decides the time. Kinda like looking at the gas in your vehicle on the odometer. While it may say 450miles til empty, it will not be able to give you a time. Even considering the distance, it will vary significantly due to the performance of the driver. As the gas lowers and the miles get closer to 0 the more accurate and apparent when the tank will be empty.

Jesus was a prophet who was born of the spirit, however he is not God. He cannot be God because he didn't pray to himself. He also said that the angels NOR THE SON knows the date and time of the second coming, and he consistently made an obvious separation between God and himself whenever he spoke of the Father. Jesus only ever claims to be "one with God" once, and this was obviously not literal. That's like me saying I am one with my car - it simply means I know my car more than anyone else would. The verse about the woman being caught in Adultery is something that was attributed to Jesus later on, but it shouldn’t actually be in the Bible since it’s not found in older manuscripts this is know well by scholars. The truth is Jesus didn’t really teach that much about how to treat women only a little about divorce, but there is stuff in the New Testament from Paul who says women should speak in church or teach but to submit to the man. I have read some of the Quran and it does have things about how to treat women more so than the Bible, I don’t believe the Bible actually has anything that States men and women are equal it’s always the man over the women it’s not a partnership but one being submissive to the other.
