The “my truth your truth” worldview has only gotten more disturbing in the last 5 years. I see in this young man, who’s most likely graduated at this point, that narrative playing out. I hope he’s found the Truth in Jesus. I am in no way perfect in this manner, yet I want to point out; the pride of not being able to follow truth where it leads. This young man was caught in that trap from start to finish unfortunately. I know Cliff in most cases is wanting to have a deep conversation not a debate. Many students think that disagreements must be handled in the form of debate; who can strong arm the other? Who’s got the best ‘gotcha question’? And this is certainly a product of the public education system, to have a visceral response to information that contradicts one’s preconceptions. This is something I’ve been trying to unravel; how do we speak through people’s pride? The only thing I can think of is how the Holy Spirit handles me in my pride: with abounding patience and endless love. And I think my question has been answered haha

@@bryantfernandez393 We can only do what Jesus does (and 'greater works') by faith in God and in Christ. If the object of our faith is something lesser, it will ultimately fail us. The miraculous/ supernatural is evident in several religions but not to the degree that Christ exercised in his ultimate authority. Also, Jesus is the Son of God, because he is the eternal expression of God's nature that came out from Him as he spoke at the beginning of creation (see John ch. 1).

I noticed alot of the time cliff misses cues on where people's minds argue from, which is, there is no God, and continue into moot points. like 2+2=5 or I like calculus. but he is doing more than I am to get to people do kudos to cliff for great deliverance.

Pastor Cliffs thank you for your videos, it helps me learn how to respond to people out in the field. I have a question though. You mentioned about approval. according to scripture we are only approved of God THROUGH Jesus right? Maybe I misunderstood. but did you say God approves of us before that point. you said He doesn't approve of our sin bit He approves of us. I don't believe the Bible says anything about God's approval of us BEFORE being born again. He only approves of us IN Christ Jesus. He undoubtedly loves us and wants us to come out from under His wrath through Jesus Christ, but I thought scripturally He only APPROVES of us IN Christ Jesus. Again, I am in no wise coming against you, I am blessed by the discourses in your videos. But can you clarify this for understanding...Thank you and Lord bless you.

Agreed upon attributes of the universe are space, time, matter, and having had a definite beginning. The attributes of that which created such a universe would have to be spaceless, timeless, immaterial, and eternal. If not God what would that be describing? Certainly not nothing because nothing can’t create anything because it’s nothing. Now we’re getting even more evidence of God, because there seems to have a been a choice to create, which would indicate a personal being to make the choice, and a vastly intelligent being at that. God bless you all

8:52 this gentleman is somewhat correct. Misguided on the practical principle of the power of belief in God but he does have a point. Having belief and hope in GOD not oneself you can do all through Christ. Jesus brings up that the church will do more power miracles after he's gone. The doubt in belief can affect the ability of God to intervene. (stated as they had unbelief in the bible) Its not against biblical principles to believe big with God. Don't believe in yourself over God that turns into humanistic idolatry. He lost it after that once he got into societal worldview on happiness

Interesting question Fred, I hope you are alright. I have asked that question myself at one point as well and I KNOW why I asked it, I hope you are simply asking out of curiosity. The answer would require a bit of speculation to answer "what happens" however. It is quite clear that if you harm any human that God created that this is a moral crime and will be dealt with as such, harming ones self is still harming one of God's own. Should you ever wish to talk please reach out to me here and perhaps at some point we can exchange e-mails. God be with you my friend.

It's a great question and a hard one as well, i think suicide is murder. People kill others out of hate, the only plausible explanation as to why people kill themselves is because they hate themselves. In my humble opinion i think they go to hell, not a an easy subject at all.

Cliffe makes a very good point at about 05:03, he says in response to the student when asked "You didn't create the universe", the student says "How do you know"?, then Cliffe says, "well, why don't you just create a rabbit"!. The point is, if Jesus came back tomorrow, how would we know it was him?, as Cliffe pointed out, we would want to see some kind of miraculous proof that Jesus was indeed the Son of God/miracle worker. I've asked the question in the past, Q: Why won't God heal amputees?, as I have a skeptical mind, (as do many people) why should I accept the word of some old book telling me that magical things happened in the past?, for me, it's far more likely these stories of Jesus were highly embellished to attract people into believing. If you take away all the miracles including the resurrection and ascension, the story loses most if not all of it's impact.

avilesw Absolutely, if you believe it. I have a rather skeptical nature and don't believe it. Just as Cliffe wouldn't accept that students claim without good proof, I am of the same opinion about Jesus. If it was ok for Thomas to ask for more credible evidence then what's wrong with a skeptic like me asking for more proof.
@will95515
@will95515 8 жыл бұрын
nothing at all. I was a skeptic also, until I was about 35, no amount of evidence was going to convince me. Then I was born again. That was all the evidence I needed, my new nature. I'm 40 now and the revelations and answered prayers, the daily walk with the Lord in spirit, nothing in life could be better. It's all on His timetable, just don't harden yourself when your day of visitation comes =). You wont have all the answers on that day and you will still have your doubts, but dont let those things in the way when you feel the tug on your spirit of the Father drawing you towards the Son. Jesus said no one can come to Him unless the Father draws them
@bonnie43uk
@bonnie43uk 8 жыл бұрын
avilesw Good to hear your view. I certainly wouldn't say "There is no amount of evidence that will convince me", quite the opposite in my case, lots of things will convince me, but as yet, I've not seen *any* credible evidence of Gods existence. I'd be quite interested to hear what actually happened to you for you to have some kind of revelation, I like to hear people's personal stories. You say God has answered prayer for you, do you mind me asking in what particular way, and if you've ever considered the possibility that whatever happened to answer your prayer, could or would have happened anyway. What would happen if you prayed to God for him to reveal himself to me?, What do you think would be stronger, my skepticism, or Gods desire for him to know me? That would certainly convince me if you prayed and I then had some kind of revelation.
@will95515
@will95515 8 жыл бұрын
Well, you are saved/born again bt grace through faith. Faith is the key, the bible makes it very clear. I can definitely pray for you but you're the one that's going to have to step out in faith out of your comfort zone and believe God at His and then things will begin to happen. As for me, and this isnt for everyone, but I had a radical conversion in an instant. The newness of life was overwhelming. It's as if I have been dead my whole life and came to becoming alive. As I read the scriptures I realized that's exactly the case. The scriptures say you are dead in your sins and trespasses. Also, that you are literally a captive, a slave in bondage. You might think you are a free person, as I did, but you are not. Weird example would be kind of like the Matrix. Anyways, once you are truly set free by Jesus, then all of this becomes very obvious. But again, you have to approach God and step out in faith.
