What a gorgeous beach you visited.. the ocean is so beautiful!! I love your textured sandy seashore. And your initial acrylic bright clouds are just the idea that I need for my ocean skies. I too have been guilty of making muddy clouds. I love this idea for a WOW painting! The v shape clouds make an incredible sky. Thank you Paul very much for sharing your experience and knowledge with us, so many aha moments in your video, I have really appreciated your lessons in perspective, rule of thirds and prep work. You solved one of my most frustrating mistakes- seascape skies made muddy. Now that you’ve helped solve this, I can’t wait to see how my seascape paintings come together! Thank you Paul!! 😄👏🤗🥰

Hello Stephanie - there are some special days and one of my favourites is mud larking on the beach - when its not too cold brrrr. I hope my use of planning a scene ahead of the painting will help us all to become better artists. It's the key to success. Or to avoid the bigger 'happy accidents' I'll do the illuminated clouds trick again sometime. But I'll get the cotton bud out a little sooner. Happy Big Sky painting - Paul 🥰

It is always a joy to watch you paint! I am getting better with blending with my acrylic colors. The misting bottle is my best friend now. Thank you for sharing🖌🖌🖌🖌

Thank you Cookie - I was all set to try some acrylics but still waiting for some materials. I have a home brew to try out too. Maybe a short video coming soon. Paul 😄

So glad you moved to a sponge for the beach, “ Phthalo Blue is a bully ” 😂😂 so true!!! Beautiful sky Paul! 🎉❤

Hi Annie @annietroe yes too many skies have gotten the blues in the past. The white first tip is something I stumbled upon by accident. Its saved lots of paintings ever since. Same with highlighting trees and bushes - yellows first! Have a great week and hope to tune in on the replays this week - big art hugs as always - Paul 🥰

Hi, Paul! I really enjoyed this week's video! I know I always say that! 😄 And, I always mean it!! I really liked how you showed us how to paint a panoramic painting! As usual, you made me want to try something new! Thanks for showing us how to make the pebbly beach. That had the WOW factor. So did the sky. So did the clouds! This was a WOW factor painting! I was fascinated with the color difference between your video and the reference photo... I like how you're teaching us to paint what we would enjoy looking at instead of fixating on matching a photo exactly. 😁 Thank you for another fantastic video! Best wishes from Erica in Utah!

Hi Cheryl - yes, this was a particularly nice painting for a few of the tried and tested tips. That beach nearly did for me! In real life it looks so life like. Terri got up real close and asked how it looked so 3D - I said ' I don't know but maybe a new tooth brush would help! She's a star 🤩

Can u do a full video of how u actually make the paper canvas from materials to layers of gesso and even how u attach them.. I’ve bought stuff from Amazon to make my own but I’m struggling with paper rolling or the vinyl being self stick and idk.. I’m trying to learn and love your videos but I just need and imagine others need help with getting our paper canvas acting right like yours thanks!!!🎉❤- Jeff from Alabama

What a wonderful sky scape! The colours are very striking and I’m loving your seagull technique! I’ve seen a lot of artists using w’s and m’s to do them but it always feels odd to leave out the tail or beak. 😅 beautiful work as always ❤ Pippa x
@PaulRansonArt7 күн бұрын
Hi Pippa - that flat brush 'eyebrow' stroke makes the most convincing gull shape. I use a liner brush for even smaller gulls in the distance sometimes. But yes, those 'm' birds are not my favourites. - Paul 😃🥰

Paul, this is a really lovely skyscape. I often use acrylics as an underlayer (because then you don't have to wait a week for it to dry!). I bought some slow-dry medium to see if I can get some more glazing/blending time with acrylics, may even use your ocean theme to try it. Also, would you be able to put a link to your pixabay page? If it's not public, I understand.
@PaulRansonArt12 күн бұрын
Hi John - ditto on using acrylics. They really speed up the process especially when making a new weekly video. I usually post a link to the reference photo's used in the desciption. My 'page' is just an assortment of ideas so not fit for human consuption!

@@PaulRansonArt Thanks so much, I'll take a closer look at the descriptions. I particularly liked your country road from two weeks ago. All the best to you, your family and the cats.

Really enjoy your tutorials, always very informative. ❤ Question regarding Liquid Clear: can old Liquid Clear that turned gummy be revived ? I thought my container was airtight but alas, the LC went gooey. Should it be thrown out?
@PaulRansonArt13 күн бұрын
Hi Jane - thasnk you for the kind comments. Now, gooey Liquid Clear! I too have had the same mishap and ended up with a gloopy mess in a can. If its just a little stiff and no too stringy then you can revive it with a little linseed oil. Add a few drops and give it a good stir and you should get things back to a more liquid state. Don't be tempted to use thinners. This will evaporate and speed up the drying process. Hope this helps - paul 😃😍
