Give yourself and you body grace and time!

Involution is the process of the uterus returning to it’s pre-pregnancy size and function.
Did you that you will still look approximately 6 months pregnant immediately after delivery? Even though your baby has made it earthside, your uterus is still enlarged and has a dinner plate sized wound left by your placenta. Over the next 6 to 8 weeks, your uterus will work it’s way from 2lbs back to 2 ounces and settle back into your pelvis. Oxytocin helps to achieved this through afterbirth contractions that may or may not be noticeable, but tend to get more intense with every birth.
So give yourself grace and time to heal and recover. Even after labor, your body is still working incredibly hard.
