I bought my first Casio g shock in 1987 and LOVED that watch...it was my trademark along with my Levi's and my Oakley sunglasses...it was a essential daily hear for me and didn't leave the house without it....the band split and broke one day at work and I cut the band off and put the watch in the empty never used ash tray of my work truck...I planned on getting a new band that day but on the way home that Friday Evening it began to rain and an old lady in front of me locked her brakes to a road she almost missed...but then she realized it was not her road and blame I totaled my work truck and in the caos I forgot about my g shock and it was hauled away to a junkyard...I purchased a Timex magnum 200 shock resistant watch and it lasted for years and years...but decided to go back to a g shock and when I did it wasn't the same....watch seemed cheaper...now that I'm older I can't read the digital displays of the casio very well..so I went to an analog ga735 for work and a luminox sentry for weekends...I guess the G shock will always be in my life...I been with them since 1987...they are one of the toughest watches still...

Happy 35th Anniversary Casio. I had the first model way back then when I was looking for an EDC watch. No regrets and still buying new G Shock models as I pass on my other watches to my sons.

Too bad I already got this one 😂 It's a no-fuss watch that you can wear pretty much anytime and for anything, aside from the 35th anniversary thing. I even wore it to weddings since long sleeves cover it very easily anyway. Love the "sunburst" LCD!

A very handsome watch indeed Love the square but I was very disappointed when I got mine and the inner case was plastic unlike the ones in the 90s. Glad to hear they at least keep making some like they should, thanks for the video. Hope whoever wins it really enjoys it and not keep it as a trophy in a shelf. Cheers!

The rubber inside the original ones doesn't age well, smells horrible and is really annoying to replace. The hard plastic inside this should have far more longevity, not smell bad and is much more convenient to replace.

i wore the heck out if that sl model for 6 years, then i replaced the bezel and strap and sold it for $150, then just last week i bought myself a gw5000 as the replacement. i really miss that sl model.

I have the 5030 and this 5035, but i still use the 5600c i got back in 1988! Sadly the bezels have long gone so aftermarket is the only option on these !

I can still recall the first time i saw a video of yours, asking myself "wow, this Austrian guy speaks rather well english..!!!". You're still Austrian in my ears (hey, i'm just kidding ;), but most surely one of the best voices to comment on -may i say- normal watches, that i/you/we can have and enjoy. Btw, you said it, there are grail watches, but we use/love/wear everyday ones. This is where you do shine mate. No craps, no bs, straight your opinion. I like a lot though that you have a different sence in watching watches, knowing and showing details that many miss. Experience by time or not idk, but you got it alright! Keep on. PS. Incredibly it lasted 10+years and I just recently changed it, because I use it in rotation with other watches so light and other functions are very rarely used
