Kate Middleton left the hospital hours after giving birth, and apparently that's normal in the UK! Ladies, after giving birth, how long did you stay in the hospital?

Why do people like to claim that things are "unrealistic" because that wasn't the experience that they had? It's clearly not unrealistic because Kate Middleton is a real person and it happened this way for her.....
@qweenlina9306 жыл бұрын
I think we have to take into account that the UK's health care is WAY different than ours...literally if a mom dies from child birth they take the time to research and review that individual case and what went wrong so that no other woman dies from the same thing...its just a different vibe over there

I lied after my first C-section and told the nurse that I had a bowel movement, because after being in the hospital for 6 days after giving birth to my twins, I was ready to go. I just took some laxatives and stool softeners after I got home and was fine. ***Disclaimer: Just because this worked out fine for me doesn't mean it will be ok for you. Please listen to your medical staff. *** Being in the hospital is not the same as luxuriating or recuperating at a hotel...or home. Nurses come in and out of the room at all hours of the day and night -leaving you no time to get any real rest. I was ready to go. Good for Kate. She has a team of people to help her, she will be fine.

sultanna D No, that isn't periods but bleeding through out the pregnancy. People like this US woman, who found out she was pregnant in January and into her 3rd trimester, think it's periods but it's not. She was selfish and dumb to fly in March knowing full well she was in the last trimester. She knew the date by then, the doctor would have told her in January the due date, I don't think her stupid, selfish behaviour was anything to be praised.

It's very Euorpean to not stay that long... Over here in the Netherlands the default is homebirth. You only go to the hospital in case of imergency, if there is a medical issue or things in the past. But in general you have a homebirth. Then again we also have things like paid maternity leave...

@OumTHMDY6 жыл бұрын
Homebirth is encouraged here but the woman still has a choice. The difference is that insurance only covers hospital bills if there is a medical necessity. If not, you pay out of your own pocket (or depending on your insurance, only a fraction). I had no medical necessity but felt safer being in the hospital.

I think that the difference is, post-natal care is entirely dissimilar between the two countries. In the UK, healthcare is free so they want you out a bit quicker to limit stress on the NHS, but they have follow-up care with midwives and a post-birth team that are also funded by the taxpayer. If there was any medical reason for her to stay, she certainly would have, but it's more unique to the mother's needs than the typical US model where 2 days are supplemented by insurance (for those who are fortunate enough to have it) so the parents feel the need to stay the whole time. Each way has its strengths and weaknesses, but it is certainly interesting to consider!

Kate does this for every pregnancy. Get's pregnant, is overly thin for a pregnant woman, is always sick but pushes through and delivers a baby then leaves hours later with a smile on her face and hair done. She's a tough cookie but hopefully focuses on other things now than having a baby.

However, the nurse did a good job. My va jj is still tight 21 years later per my most recent visit to my gynecologist. Thanks Nurse! 😊She was 8lbs and some, 21 inches long. A couple of weeks early. Yeah long story. Labor/delivery was the easiest part for me out of the whole experience. She was here in less than an hour. Being pregnant is no joke. Raising them is harder.

It is a super hard concept to understand until you’re in the position yourself. First kid I was in the hospital for 3 days and could barely walk for a month. 2nd kid I was out the next day and felt fine after 3 days. Women are so strong and with all the technological advancements we have we don’t even understand that the more natural you have the baby the easier it is to heal and feel fine, sometimes almost immediately after! But we of course have to keep in mind every woman and every baby is different. So just be safe whatever you choose!

With my first child, I labored for 30 hours in hospital and then had a csection. I was there for 6-7 days. It was awful. My second pregnancy, i had a planned csection and was only in the hospital for 2 days. They let me go home early because all the staff new I was a confident mother and knew the drill and what to watch out for with my own body. Way better experience. Im all for leaving a hospital setting asap. Its generally a better and faster way to heal.

Most hospitals in US make you stay 24hrs so annoying because with both my babies I just wanted to go home right after. Especially with my last it was a super fast 10 min delivery and I wanted out lol.

BLovey322 yes. Fast labor for me too i. Especially after having one I was like I got this can we go. Did my first poop, no golf ball clots, n walking around trying to go to the Wendy's downstairs. I was so bored

I have my kids in a birth center and Ive always gone home that day. 5-6 hours after birth. They make sure the baby is healthy and I’m healthy, they let you stay as long as You want but I’ve always gone home that day :)

Tamera is right some women are gifted to give birth easily and the others aren't as lucky. We need to talk more about hard births. Even though we like to hear positive things. Because when your in a surgery room about to get cut open. You just start asking yourself "why couldn't i do it , why is this happening to me" you start to put yourself down. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Good for you moms that feel great lol I had a vaginal birth with no tearing and minimal bleeding and there still was no way I would want to go home so soon lol 😂 I was thankful to be at the hospital for 2 days after
