There’s an explanation video of the lyrics from DKDKTV and it had a lot of references which international fans won’t easily grasp simply by listening to the lyrics. I love how Suga hyped Tae while doing his part! Tae wanted to do this for a very long time.

The background to this song that people said they only succeeded internationally because their music is influenced by western music. So they wrote this diss track with a mix of all traditional korean instruments, a lot of korean references in the text and performed it in hanbok clothing in a traditional stage setting. And a hit was born!!! Love this! 💜 And love seeing you together as always!

The numbers represent the strongest card combination in a korean card game called seotda. If you have the card combination “One-Eight ,One-Three, Three-Eight”, you basically win the game. 1-8 and 1-3 are great combos but 3-8 can beat both, thats why its says ‘invincible’ during that verse. When Suga repeats this line during the chorus, it simply meant BTS is the best and their naysayers are wrong for saying otherwise.

Not sure if you've seen Rolling Stone magazine's ranking last week of the "100 Best BTS Songs"? They put "Ddaeng" at #3!!! Let's put aside that the ranking is totally debatable and they left out so many great songs. But, that was very high praise for this song. You should definitely check out the ranking just for fun. I know a lot of people weren't happy with it. But, in my opinion, any feature that discusses BTS' discography at length is a win.

Ddaeng and Daechwita may sound "similar" to you ( as in traditional Korean instruments vibe) because Suga produced both, lol. When the vocal line raps on the track it is such a fun occurrence. Cute, dorky, enthusiastic, fun and vibe-y. Jungkook is a sub rapper of the group so it shouldn´t come as a surprise he burned that stage with confidence:-) Tae was in his element too and it was endearing to see how much he enjoyed it :-) Ddaeng is a lyrical masterpiece and a proper explanation by a Korean channel others recommended already is a must:-)

V has a dream ... he really, REALLY wants to be in a Cypher ... and as of yet, SUGA and RM have turned him down again and again. But yeah here he nailed it and he also nailed his part of Daechwita in SoWooZoo. Ddaeng was released as a free soundcloud song to army so that's why you probably haven't heard a lot about it before. But yes, it's definitely a banger and such a treasure. The word play is insane, so watching the dkdktv explanation video is highly recommended. Also, V is a rap line fanboy, so he had his moment to shine here, lol. And, JK's role model is RM so it was great seeing him get RM's part and slay it with RM approving in the background.

DDaeng has many meanings. The words in parentheses tells you which meaning. Pronunciation...hit that D hard! In Korean, there is a difference between the d/dd sound (dang vs ddang).

Don't know if you noticed but when Hobi sang the line about AP (watch) he flipped his hand a certain way where it was actually visible on his wrist. The starting price is like $24000. The one he was wearing at the time was around $70000 I believe. The song has a lot of deeper meanings that cannot be covered in such short examples.
