Here is a link to the mannequin I'm using: amzn.to/2kUYSjx Yes, I'm multicultural. I'm a licensed stylist who works on ALL hair textures. Yes, I chose a mannequin with light hair, because it shows up better on camera. No, racist comments are not welcome, post them elsewhere. And yes, I meant what I said about watermelon heads and prison braids! LOL I'm sorry if it offends, that's my sense of humor. Last of all, THANK EACH OF YOU for watching, commenting, and subscribing. I appreciate it more than you know! Linwood.

Really? #@thebestcornrowbraidingtutorial, Wow, there are so many cornrow braiding videos done by African women, that are easy to follow and the braiding is far more precise and clean. Now he did a great job, but as far as completely neat and clean there's better. I'm sure even he knows that. The fact is its hilarious that when anyone of European descent (White etc,) does a skill like cornrow braiding that was invented by our African ancestors and was despised by Whites, Europeans etc, all of a sudden when they learn it, it's amazing and you hear these types of comments. I'm speaking simply to this fact and it really rakes my coals. For the rest, great job to him for showing how to cornrow and actually getting involved in our forms of braiding.

This was such a great tutorial!! It answered SO many questions I had floating around in my head as to *why* particular issues kept popping up with my braiding technique. Not only specifically related to conrowing either. As a matter of fact, I rarely cornrow at all! But your tutorial explained so much about why hair acts and reacts the way it does with respect to the direction of the braid, amount of hair included in the braid, thickness of the braid, etc. that it carried over into general knowledge of just how to handle hair braiding.. I hope you're a well paid teacher in this area because you truly deserve to be. I learned so much about so much from this 1 video alone! :)

OMG!! I FINALLY understand the difference between cornrows and Dutch braids, I just kept seeing people say they were the same thing or that cornrows are just smaller, but when you look at someone with two big cornrows compared to someone with two large dutch braids it looks different. And it makes sense that it's about how much hair you're pulling in at a time that's why cornrows show scalp and Dutch braids don't when your pulling in a ton of hair at a time it doesn't give any room for the scalp to show OMG thank you!

Thank you! This tutorial, especially pointing out how cornrows differ from just miniature dutch braids, helped me so much in figuring out why all my attempts to include them in my own hairstyles have failed so badly in the past :) And I know it's silly but seeing the technique demonstrated on hair that looks and acts more like mine than many other tutorials use really helped convince me that braiding like this is achievable as part of my own styles if I keep working at it.

Also, love how you address stress alopecia and bumps. I know that my children are tender headed and appreciate all the hacks for great hair styles with the least amount of suffering and scalp damage. I have been wanting to learn to do this for yrs. Ive tried and tried with other videos but it just never works out for me. I think this tutorial is different. I believe this is the one where I achieve success finally. Ill keep you updated. Also wanted to know best products for daily styling of 10 yr old daughters hair. When she wakes up I need to detangle, moisturize, grease, style. Sometimes I wet it sometimes I cant. Sometimes I just want to give her beautiful soft bounce moisturized coils but her hair just doesn’t do all that with the wash in go Or the style and go. Hers is kinky, frizzy, so big and plentiful but not super thick per strand. I have spent hundreds trying products but I end up displeased that they have alcohol of some sort which ends up making it brittle by Tues. night, dont have any natural or even mostly natural/ familiar ingredients or just doesn’t do what I expected it to do in her hair to assist in the completion and keeping of the style. What am I always doing wrong?! Im a white hispanic lady married to a black man whose in-law family is not close and can’t really teach me any/all of this. I resolved to convince my self there is no passing down of the secrets or “ pathway to enlighten for this”, that it must just be complete trial and error for every person and hair type till you stumble upon a sliver of what will somewhat work for you. The struggle is real for me. My 15 yr old grew his hair out to his chin but with little knowledge of best deep conditioning and products for styling and almost no braiding skills ( its been a learning curve transitional phase type a couple of yrs) its hard to keep up with and alot of weeks he ends up with 2 in front and two in back. Its just sad to watch and live through, I think. My poor babies, I love them so much but Im just not the one.🤷🏻‍♀️

+marilyn miller to me, the hardest part of braiding your own is getting the part lines right! I would recommend having someone who can see the back of your head help you with parting. This was super interesting to watch! I love the look of tight, neat, clean braids like this. I was wondering how you finished off the loose end of the braid? How does it not unravel? Is it just that the end of the braid has so little hair at that point (because it's so tapered off) and the stiching is so tight that no elastic is required?
