We sound like our parents now, who back in the 80s used to tell us how awesome the 60s were. They actually were pretty awesome also but as teens in the 80s. The 60s seemed primitive to us. I'm sure sure 1984 seems extremely primitive to a 16 yr old in 2024.

Certain forces converged to give us all the impression that things were wonderful, and that it was all sustainable. Most of that was bullshit. Aside from that, the 80's were no different than any other decade. Talented people did great work, and we all enjoyed seeing it and hearing it.

My boss/best friend says it hourly ;) Actually he says "Fucking Bitch" & bf stopped calling me a bitch because he said it didn't fit me, neither did the bad "C" word. I guess at times when I've reached my limits I can be down right evil. I mean how many times, languages, formats and grade levels does someone have to explain something for another person to get some clue as to what you are explaining? That's another problem. Don't ask a question or for an honest opinion then get all butt hurt about the response.

Man, this brings it back. 1986, I was working at an art gallery. I remember a gallery opening party, this song was playing. I was wearing my sharkskin sport jacket and one my late father's narrow silk ties. My date was wearing a one-piece sequined LBD, and a green surgical glove tied to a barrett in her hair. Sounds like an absurd thing to wear, but she was such a gorgeous blonde that no one ever noticed what it actually was. All evening, she just got all sorts of compliments on her cool hairclip. Almost 50 years and that memory still wows me. That was the 80s.

35th anniversary of album release: The Thin Red Line, the debut album by Canadian band Glass Tiger, released on 11th June 1986. The album is most famous for the single "Don't Forget Me (When I'm Gone)", which featured backup vocals by a certain Canadian musician, by the name of Mr Bryan Adams, IMO, this song is a perfect example of how glorious the eighties were when it comes to music: just simply unforgettable, timeless melodies & vibes, great vocals, with a mean key change to boot.

Thank God my memories won’t be based on the music of the past 2 decades. I’ll keep everything from the 60s-early 90s thank you 😁

Such a great song! The first time I heard it when it came out, I was like, “is that Bryan Adams”?!!! It was just so random, lol. He made it even better!! “FOOOOOR HEAVENS SAKE!!” 80’s kids, unite!!

No better era than the 80s. Was a early teen in this era, and would give anything to go back to it.

It's high power and melody almost guaranteed for this one to be a hit. Lots of 1986 memories here, mostly good ones. Doesn't seem possible that this is nearing 38 years now. One thing I like about these videos is seeing the crowd having so much fun. Life can be good.
