Truly the best big caliber gun Glock ever made…20C. The VERY hard to find Compensated model (20C) is the HIGHLY, HIGHLY sought after. Cool video!

I do. I did a 90-Two review a while back that's in my video history. I have others too though; just haven't gotten around to them yet...

Yes. They're similar in power (when loaded properly).

20-22lb spring for that. I mainly use my 20lb spring since I run both "FBI light" and full house loads at the same range session and don't want to have to change springs between mags. The 22lb seems to have more consistent ejection with the full house loads however.

Can you do a 2024 remake video of all your Glock C Models
@Mrgunsngear11 жыл бұрын
Sure. Great choice if you feel you can control the recoil impulse enough to get back on target fast. With handguns getting multiple rounds on target matters as all handgun rounds are poor manstoppers regardless of caliber.

If you shoot full power loads then I agree with the higher weight spring. I'll give you more consistent velocity and more power over all. It could cost you in the reliability with weak loads.
@Mrgunsngear11 жыл бұрын
Sure. But it certainly wouldn't be my first choice. A 44 Magnum would be my choice if I had to use a handgun. If I had to pick a semi-auto, I'd take this gun with a 6'' barrel and some heavy Underwood FMJ loads. That said----go for a rifle or shotgun with slugs if you have that option.

Nice video. For backcountry hiking in the Colorado Rockies, I carry a Glock 29 with 4.6" KKM barrel with 20lb Lone Wolf spring and full-power loads. I've never had any failures with that setup.
@Mrgunsngear11 жыл бұрын
Correct. The recoil spring.
@Mrgunsngear11 жыл бұрын
Depends on your skill level. If you can handle the recoil and put multiple rounds on target quickly then yes. If not, a G17/34 may be a better option. For most people they are in my opinion.
@Mrgunsngear11 жыл бұрын
I did chrono it but in an effort to keep it short I cut it out. With the 165gr Underwood Gold Dots it lost 47fps vs the Gen4 G20 (both with 17lb springs) over a 5 shot average.

In my opinion---it depends. If you're shooting in the dark without illuminating the threat then maybe. But, if you're not illuminating the critter/threat then how do you allign your sights? If it's bright enough to see the critter/threat without a light than I don't think it will be an issue.

Don't know if you have gotten a chance to chronograph the 20c and 20 to see the velocity differences between the 2. I have a 20C and I love it. I'm curious to know if there is a big difference in velocity between the 20 and 20c. I know the 20c would have a little bit reduced velocity because of it being compensated. Any thoughts? Great review. Gotta love the 10 mill Glock.

Nice work on the video, lots of good info. I cant decide between the 20 and the 20C and this vid has me leaning to the 20C. Only problem is I plan to use it as a safety back up to keep critters in check when I am bow hunting and there is a good chance that if I ever need to shoot it will be in the dark or near dark conditions! I am concerned that after the first shot my eyes will take to long to re adjust? Is this a valid concern?

You should look into getting the Mechtech Carbine Conversion unit for your Glock 20C. The carbine unit reduces the recoil greatly and with the right sights/optics turns your Glock 20 into an excellent hunting carbine with the right ammo. I'm surprised that such a pistol/carbine combo isn't used by more police agencies, since both could share the same magazines. One modern M1911 in 10mm is available from Rock Island Armory.

I don't know about anyone else but i all most exclusively reload 10mm rather than buy ammo anymore. The underwood stuff has perked my interest here lately but to be honest with my Hornady Press i can get some rounds smokin pretty quick. Do appreciate the link though cause another source is never a bad thing. Man i live hearing that G20 rock the steel though, nothing outside of a magnum sounds like the 10mm going off.

Oh, I was hoping u were going to chrono it. I have to disagree about the same recoil, 'cause it can lose 100fps.& more with those ports.Essentially bringing it down to a .40s&w depending on ammo, but with noise and flash. Personally, I would just put a .40 barrel in a regular G20 and have all of the benies. I agree with the flash being a non-issue. I didn't see a change with the springs, or get why an increase is desired with the comp. Usually it's a weaker spring, but 17# is weak for the 10

They do wear them faster; no doubt about that but you'd have to put a lot of rounds through one to get it where it wouldn't work. Even if you did, Glock would replace it for free...

I love my Glock 20. It's the most accurate Glock I own. I just wish ammo was cheaper and that there were more full power loads available, not the watered down loads.
@blackhatch4611 жыл бұрын
the only problem i have with 10mm (and 40 as well) is since they are high pressure rounds they wear the gun out faster. not a huge issue though, i still carry my G22 daily and put my life in its hands. i think the issue is negligible.

I had a significant problem with my new Glock20 that I bought last year and it was the trigger. Each time I fired a round I felt a pinch under my trigger finger, somewhere between the trigger and trigger guard area. Then at a local gun show I bought a Lone Wolf 2 port extended barrel for $130 and it was certainly worth the money. No more trigger finger pinch, reduced recoil and better accuracy. I did try shoot from a friend's Glock20C one time and it did eliminate the trigger pinch. But the extended length of the Lone Wolf, that extra 1" makes a noticeable increase in the accuracy level. Before that though, I felt less anxious shooting my Desert Eagle 50AE than I did my Glock20. Also, I wish Glocks came with rubber grips like say, the Desert Eagle. Because the hard plastic after a few rounds starts to hurt the skin of the fingers on the front facing surface where they wrap around the grip. Any suggestions on how you can remedy that? I also recently purchased a DanWesson 1911 Valor V-bob and I paid through the roof ( $2500+ ) for it, but it is sweet! Tight, crisp, accurate, reliable- no feeding/cycling issues and I've put over 500 rounds so far, quite unlike many other 1911s including Kimbers where that is the #1 problem encountered. JACKSON, MISSISSIPPI.
@molonlabe97858 жыл бұрын
I work at a gun shop and know that those little rugged studs on parts of the Gen 3s are all over the Gen 4s. I would guess that the "pinch" would maybe be a burr on the inside bottom of the trigger guard?? Glock flaws such as that are extremely uncommon. I'm thinking about asking our order guy to to find me a G20 SF or C.

need suggestions! I've looked up the ballistics for 10mm. and was very impressed. I was wondering about recoil and this guy makes it looks so minute, it's probably more than what he allows! (which shows great technique!) debating whether I want the 20sf or 23 (.40 S&W) which would be a downgrade in firepower, not that .40 S&W is a bad caliber! I'm a thinner framed guy and would prefer it on my hip.
@joshborton17087 жыл бұрын
Just buy a slim frame (SF) model of the Glock 20, or get a Gen 4 with the interchangeable back straps if you are concerned about size. As for perceived recoil, the C models help and so does proper technique. Changing to a different spring can also help.
@molonlabe97857 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the advice, I ended up getting the 29 Glock's subcompact 10. I think I'll be using it as a wood gun and not a carry gun though. Probably the S&W Shield in a .40 for a carry gun. Any other suggestions for a slimmer carry gun?
@joshborton17087 жыл бұрын
That depends on what you need. Slim and carry tend to be more comfortable, but reduce your capacity. I have carried a Glock 19, but am considering a 43.
@molonlabe97857 жыл бұрын
Josh Borton the 43 is really nice but only has 6+1 of 9mm. It is also pretty thin so it might kick in the web of your thumb but find a buddy or a place where you can shoot one and find out for yourself, everyone is different and only you will be able to know what gun is best for you.
