I first started watching your videos when I was about 16 years old, when my dad purchased my first gun and I just recently turned 21 and plan on getting a pistol permit. Finally!! I have to say you're the one who has sold me on the Glock 23. I want it to be my first handgun. But what I was trying to say was I was deeply saddened to hear about your account going down twice in the matter of two days and I thought that the second time you were done for sure. I'm beyond thankful that you are back and still kicking because you've honestly taught me so much about firearms. You've taught me about gun culture and the importance of the second amendment. This is my thanks to you hickock, thank you for doing what you do and inspiring me to be a gun owner. Thank you to you and your son John for putting out such quality, educational videos that are not short of humor as well. I owe it to you and could probably thank you a million times more. Take care. -sincerely A pro-gun New Yorker.

I use to be a Correctional Officer! This is the gun we trained with! Out of 7 years of shooting the G23 gen 4 our instructors said each glock had around 250,000 rounds through them each! We were talking afterwards to our instructors and they stated we hardly had any problems at all with them! That made me a glock fanboy! Over a year period I bought 2 of the Glocks 23 gen 4! I edc the 23 and the 19! Now I got the 19X and the Glock 45 9mm! Also got the G19 gen 5 and the Glock 48 all black! Great firearms that are dependable & tough!!!!! Thanks Mr. Hickok45! Good videos!

I hear that term, "Short & Weak" a lot when guys talk about the .40 S&W and most of the time its guys who love the 9mm, so if they think the .40 S&W is Short & Weak then that would make the 9mm Puny & Frail' or Fatigued & Delicate' or Physically Unable'.....
@ManiacalMill8 жыл бұрын
While I do hear it from all sorts of different caliber fans, the term originated from 10mm fans. The .40 S&W is literally a shorter and weaker 10mm (10mm is an older cartridge than the .40). With that said, .380, 9mm, .38 special, .357 magnum, and .357 Sig all use the same bullets (or at least can). A .380 casing is right around half the length of a .357 magnum's, so there's obviously an incredibly significant difference in the powder load.

I had an FNX40 for a half dozen years and liked its features but it never shot tbe way I thought it should. It always shot too low for me and others who shot it. FN basically blew me off when I called the about it. After watching yours and others videos and doing some more research I recently traded the FNX40 for a Gen 4 Glock 23 and after taking it to the range I am very pleased with my decision. It performs exactly as you said and was accurate right out of the box. I'm left handed and switched the magazine release to the opposite side without a problem. Probably my 70 year old eyes but I hit pretty consistently a bit to the right so I'm going to drift the rear sight a fraction to the left and I should be close to dead on for me. Doug Smith Strongly disagree. The .40 is better in every way. Actually, the 10mm is more versatile than both, but the .40 can fit in 9mm frames. The .45 ACP is an inefficient, low pressure round that was only relevant in pre-Nato combat where ball was the only choice.

I love how you put a Glock in his hands and how quick he can clear the range. You can tell which firearm he has spent the most time with.

You're videos helped me to decide on the glock 23 for my carry gun. I love my 23!

I’ve had the same gun for 8 years and love it. My EDC is a Sig p365, but the G23 is my home defense gun. I don’t understand why people bash the .40 so much.

That has been my carry rig for the past 6 months. King Tuk and a Glock 23. As always great video Hickok!

This is high energy Hickok at his finest! Nice hand-tooled basket-weave belt, there.

As a police officer here in the Cincinnati, Ohio area I just want to say I love all the videos. You are a sure shot and no one should ever make the decision to get in a shoutout with you. I would love to shoot with you when we are down that way !

hickok45, your review greatly influenced my purchase of my new glock 23 gen 3. thank you for the great review. glock should really give you a little something for being such a good salesman for 'em.

@bwelch88, Thanks. Doesn't take long to expend three or four boxes of ammo, does it! :-)

.40 is the way to go. Hits hard. Recoil is not bad at all. I'm very happy with my Glock 23 and my Glock 22.

Just bought one on Saturday 10/7/17...The Glock 23 Gen 4 is a beast. Don't listen to the hecklers. .40s&w is not hard to shoot. I didn't even notice the recoil at the range.

@arriscado75, Nope, Glocks are a bit like a hammer, wrench, or shovel. They are just extremely functional.

It must be a great feeling knowing that you're one of the best shots. Seems like one of the most valuable skills to have, especially if/when SHTF.

0:25...really funny, Hickok! I really like your reviews. I carry a G22 on the job and own a G23-it fits my hands like no other gun.

Love my Gen 4 g23 as well Mr Hickok! I also love my king tuk holster for it. the gun literally disappears in it and the weight of the gun is distributed so evenly in that holster you forget you are carrying the Glock. Great video as always. I'd give anything to have a shooting range in my backyard as you do!! keep em coming dead-eye!

A few months ago, I decided to put my Glock 23 back up in storage and switch to carrying my Glock 27, because I saw a video of Hickok talking about it. Now I see this video and I want to switch back to the 23. Hickok's giving me whiplash....

Bought a nearly new G23 Gen 4 police trade in for just over three bills… Came with still glowing night sights and the beavertail grip already installed… I am pleased. 😎
