You got a Gen 5 but the rod is for Gen 1, 2 and 3. That might be your problem.

See reply at bottom. I'm thinking what you're thinking. But it may not actually fit the Gen 5 glock 26. So far, based on the application description and the description saying that it IS for my Glock 26, I'm guessing this one is out of tolerance and defective. I'm waiting to hear back from someone at the Glockstore. I emailed them thru their site cuz I couldn't find an email address to attach pics & be more detailed as to what's going on. Their website only allows 900 characters when you contact them thru their site.

That's what the packaging says. I know where you're going with this. I did actually look it up on the GlockStore website under their "Super Heavy Tungsten Guide Rods", & according to their site, this is the correct & same part number for my Gen 5. Obviously, they might be mistaken about the compatibility of it with the Gen 5. But who knows, I'm still waiting to hear back from them, go figure.

1 when you put that guide rod in to a GEN five when it’s only rated for 1 2 @3 you’re causing a lot of pressure on the barrel lock, and that could cause it to snap or damage your barrel or your locking block or whatever but my advice is stick to the OEM guide rod that it came with because in the long run if you keep running it with the new guide rod that you bought you could wind up with some very serious problems. Much love stay safe please take our advice.

The coworker I bought it from said he didn't put that many rounds thru it, & I don't think I did either, at least not over 1,000 yet. But yes, I went back to the stock guide rod a while back & wont put back that other one. The Glockstore one is just sitting there taking up space in some drawer. Thanks again for the reply & feedback.

You have the wrong gen spring as everyone has said. Don't listen to the people that say it makes no difference. I've had mine in my g19 gen 4 for about 10-12yrs. It does make a difference and I've never had a problem with it. The difference is subtle but is there. The only person that knows how recoil feels to you is you. The only person that knows how the weight of your gun feels in your hand is you.

Don’t know if you ever got this figured out BUT this is when the striker spring is overpowering the recoil spring. If you put a 4.5/5 striker spring in instead of oem 6# spring the problem will go away.

Did you fire this yet . I got a guide rod from the glock store for my 40 and went to range and the slide would not go back to battery I had to smack the back of the slide fired and the same . What did is Put the glock store guide rod and the original rod side and found that the glock store rod was longer. Put the factory rod back in and to the range and the the gun works perfectly. I won’t by anything from that store anymore.

I already shot it with the Glockstore guide rod. I showed this video to my firearms instructor & he said the slide movement was causing my sight alignment to move. I know my sights were aligned right, but my shots were off the steel plate & I kept asking myself "WTF?" The gun wasn't malfunctioning, but I still knew something wasn't right. I already emailed the Glockstore to see about getting this guiderod swapped out for another one, but havent heard back from them. Not in a hurry to get another one, I'll just keep the original one on for now. I was told that if I want to accomplish the same thing as this guide rod, I should just install a Streamlight TLR-6 light on the Glock. But naw, I'll stick to it the way it is, not my EDC gun. I carry my Sig P365, but this baby Glock is compatible with my other fullsize Glock mags, which is why I bought it.

I am a gunsmith in Bullhead City Arizona we rarely have Glocks come in for repair for any issues but when they do it's always aftermarket parts in them causing the issue always stick with OEM parts never put aftermarket triggers or disconnectors in your Glock if you can't shoot a stock Glock trigger than you can't shoot practice more.

As others have stated you have a gen5 which uses the 2 stage spring the aftermarket kit you have says gen 1-3 but also uses a 2 stage spring. I’m sure it’s already been suggested but I would get a factory gen 5 assembly. I’m not sure what issue you were trying to solve with the aftermarket part? The factory assembly should be good for 2500 rounds before normal replacement. Unless you have a specific reason to change the weight of the spring I wouldn’t.

@@victorramosjr2239 I try to refrain from switching out internal parts unless you have a specific reason. Only thing I could think of for changing to a titanium rod is for heat and unless you have a selector switch for full auto I don’t think the factory rod is gonna prematurely wear.

I purchased the 18 lb stainless steel guide rod from the Glock Store and had a problem with the front of the guide rod spring sliding through the guide hole on the slide. When I removed the guide rod the spring came off the metal rod. I was planning to go out the next day and put some 9mm plus "P", which is the reason for getting an 18 lb guide rod. I bought this before the Covid lockdown and felt that I was way beyond the return date of the purchase. Needless to say I lost out. The first Glock Store guide rod I purchased was a stainless steel 16 lb and it works great. I'd like to start using +"P" ammo in my model 26 due to the short barrel. I'd still like to use +"P" and wonder if the 18 lbs is strong enough or should I go to a 20 lb. After seeing your video I wonder if I should buy another Glock Store guide rod. Glock store sells a packet of small washers for guide rods so maybe they are the ticket. Thanks for the video and good luck with your Glock. (they are a good handgun)

The box says it's for a Gen 1, 2, 3 but when he takes the aftermarket guide rod out, the tip is a Gen4, 5 rod. The Gen 1,2,3 is smaller in diameter. That being said, it's the wrong guide rod in that box, so it could be a heavier pound and maybe even for another gun altogether. It's not like he bought the guide rod from the Glockstore. It came with the gun purchase. Never trust other people's mods.

If you stay with the original 16 lbs spring tension you are not going to feel any difference (once you get your slide issues ironed out). If you had gone with the 14 lbs spring you'd get less muzzle flip, because for every action there's an equal and opposite . . . third law of motion. The competition guys use a lighter spring for this reason. Just being Tungsten isn't going to do anything except that it's heavier than the plastic OEM. In short, if you stay with the original spring tension there's really no point in replacement.
@captainnitrousx1331
@captainnitrousx1331 2 жыл бұрын
Just leave the original spring in it. There is very little muzzle flip in that weapon. Buy 250 rounds of FMJ and go shoot it. There should be no miss feeds with the original guide rod and double spring. Looks like normal trigger take up to me. I have a 27 which shoots 40 cal and it has same type of guide and spring. I can shoot it fast and accurate because of that original double spring and guide. Go take pistol to a Glock gun smith to make sure all the other eternals are original.

Guide rod spring weight is too light. It’s so light that the movement of trigger bar against extractor button, is causing over travel and unwanted movement of slide. 18 lb is usually factory spring weight not sure if subcompact have same spring weight but a bit heavier weight spring will most likely correct issue.
