I went through this comparison some years ago. I ended up choosing the Smith because of how it fit my hand. Nothing against the Glock, I just do not like how it feels in my hand. In 4 years I have not had a malfunction with my 9c

I like the way the smith felt in my grip over the glock . I bought a Glock , went out and shot it and then gave it to my best friend. It did not fit my hands. My friend has a collection of glocks and added it to his collection and it is his EDC six months a year.

I've had both guns and like the S&W better. I like the feel and handling qualities of the Smith best and also think the basic construction integrity is a little better. I do wish they would have stuck the Glock trigger design, however. Nothings perfect!

One thing I never see in the videos is the slide release methods. Currently looking for 2 conceal carry’s for my wife and I. She has no experience and a light grip. A one finger slide release system would be best but so far haven’t found one like that. Kind of frustrating that issue is never shown in videos. I have a Sig p365xl and it’s rather difficult to push the button and pull on the slide to chamber a round. I’ll find what I want eventually but I wanted to express my interest in that one detail of gun reviews. Maybe no one makes a gun with a one finger release anymore.

When it comes to quick target acquisition, the stock Glock sights fit me just right. That "field post" rear sight allows me to have a super easy time sighting in on a target. I know many choose some "billy badass" type aftermarket sights so they feel cooler, or just to have a more tactical (night) sights, but with training and an open mind to the stock style rear sight (field goal!) it really isn't a bad sight. Also, you forgot to mention that M&P's have a take down tool built into the bottom of the grip/frame. I'm very positive you knew of this, but you didn't use or mention it in the process of breaking down the M&P9c. I'm also very sure that most already are aware of such an added feature, but you never know who's watching and actually trying to learn. The main reason Smith & Wesson added that was for a safety feature used in America's "point system" for ruling how guns are governed and what states, under their respective laws, will allow import/usage. It also addressed some of those who were too fearful of their own competence in clearing and cleaning their own weapon, silly I know, but it is what it is, sigh. Simply put, most should just learn how to effectively clear a weapon correctly and not be afraid to depress a trigger (in a safe direction of course) in a breakdown situation for cleaning/maintenance. Now I know I'm a Glock fanboy as well, very much so, but I would never put a Glock over a M&P. I have mad respect for M&P's as well. How else could I justify owning more M&P's than Glocks over the course of my life? haha I someday want a M&P 9c so that I can alternate between the two from day to day carry. Awesome, awesome video full of information and a GREAT comparison between two wonderful carry options.

Most people choose aftermarket sights simply because they aren’t made of plastic. I hope you aren’t relying on plastic sights on a defensive gun. I personally find Glocks overrated and overpriced and it’s laughable that they continue to come with plastic sights
@SS-fp6kz2 жыл бұрын
I too was wondering why he didn’t use the take down tool already attached to the M&P 9C?
@rhsking052 жыл бұрын
@@strat1080 i know this is an older comment now but I really do like the “field goal” rear sight with the front dot. I’ve had many guns with three dot and three dot night sights and I seem to aim quicker and more easily with that large white U in the rear. That’s just me tho. I know most hate the Glock factory sight, and I agree it would be dope they were steel, but I’m not complaining. My old G26 had over 10,000 rounds through it with all factory parts and it had TONS of life still in it before needing any parts to be swapped for new ones.

The glock does not have a below the barrel rail. The glock is more narrow at the back of the pistol butt making its recoil felt more aggressive. The Smith and Wesson wins out in my book. 😮

@KSGunGuy018 жыл бұрын
kauxkaux it's a great gun, especially if you like glock 19s. That said, there's not a whole lot to grab on to so it will take some serious training. You may also want to consider what holster you go with so you can get plenty of grip on it when you draw. Thanks for the comment and the sub! Cheers

It’s not really in between the G19 and G26. Its much closer in size to the G26. When you put them together it was pretty clear that there was a much bigger difference in size between the G19 and 9c than there was between the G26 and 9c. I much prefer the ergos on the 9c and the fact that it has a light rail. I really feel that the 9c and 40c are about as close to the perfect all around size. You have a 5.75” sight radius which allows you to shoot about as accurately as a duty size gun yet it is still very concealable. I had a G23 for years but found myself frequently leaving it at home because it was too difficult to conceal with a lot of the clothes I wear
