Love the texture of this bread. It was easy to make. I used two whole eggs because I only had two. Need to shop before I start new recipes I think. I did add garlic salt though I didn't measure it might have been 1/4 tsp. I let it cool overnight and this morning was really good. Thank you for your recipe. I can enjoy bread now.

I printed off the recipe, and I have a couple of questions. Your recipe says “psyllium husk ground.“ Do you mean 2 1/4 tablespoons of whole psyllium husk that you grind yourself (psyllium husk, ground-that I grind myself). Here you say “ground psyllium husk”-pre-ground. Which is it? Also, pre ground flaxseed meal isn’t as fine as what I grind myself. I wish you had given metric amounts. I bake by weight. So I ground my flaxseed meal in multi grinder and then measured. Your printed recipe doesn’t say anything about holding back some of the water. I was wondering why it was so thin. I wasn’t able to shape it Also, you don’t give a cooking temperature on your printed recipe. Which is why I’m back here trying to find that
@SonalsFood3 жыл бұрын
Sorry about the confusion. I gring my psyllium husk and flax seed at home. So either home ground or store bought works. Ground psyllium husk is half the qty of regular. So take the qty accordingly. Oven 180 C or 350 F
@judysbakeryandtestkitchen16543 жыл бұрын
@@SonalsFood thank you. And the baking temp is 350?! It would be most helpful to put that on the recipe, as well as info on holding back water. My dough was still very watery. The psyllium husk, however, did thicken it up
@judysbakeryandtestkitchen16543 жыл бұрын
@@SonalsFood , I did an experiment, and found that there is a HUGE difference of volume between : 2 cups of pre-ground flour (244 grams) and 2 cups flaxseed meal that I grind myself (198 grams). That’s probably the why don’t many people are getting slimy breads. The one you grind yourself is much finer and has more volume. Actually, the KZbin gal at lowcarbrecipeideas pointed this out in her recipe. I switched to yours because it only uses 4 egg whites. She uses more. Most people buy store bought pre ground, so I think you should also give amounts for that. I keep my flaxseeds, nuts, and flours in the fridge, so they stay fresh. Oh, I made 2 wonderful breads. Each time, I regroups the store bought flaxseed meal. Thank you for all your work

@SonalsFood2 жыл бұрын
On keto it is ok to have extra sodium. Flax seed dough does not rise well with yeast.
@robertneighbors35202 жыл бұрын
@@SonalsFood The yeast rise depends on ADDED sugar, which the yeast consumes to create the Co2 gas to rise the bread, no sugar is left as the yeast consumes it all, if done properly. Flax does not have enough free sugar for yeast to feed on. For seniors it is NOT OK to have sodium beyond say 1.5 grams per day, and salt/sodium is added to almost ALL foods by food processing co's, only raw foods don't have much sodium.
