This video will show you how to upgrade the hrydro boost on the 2001-2010 Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra's 2500 Durham to the 2011 LML Duramax hydro boost. The original hydro boost that came on these model year trucks had weak and squishy brakes. The hydro boost that came on the 2011 model year trucks had upgraded internal parts and is an upgrade that works for the 2001-2010 year trucks. This is a complete bolt on upgrade and no modification is needed although there has been a few people that needed to ream out the rod hole that connects to the brake pedal. Hydro boost was purchased from BBP Diesel Performance and here is the link bbpdiesel.com/.... The one galloon jug of pristine power steering fluid was purchased from o'reilly auto-parts.

Thank you for your video, really teachable for a home garage mechnic, especially under the dash. The little retainer clip can become a monster to remove. Only by your clear explaination was it a 10 second install.

Great video, I just finished installing the Duramax 2011+ hydroboost unit into my 2004 GMC Yukon Denal due to a weeping OEM unit. Brakes are definitely a lot better, and they were really good prior to that. I've been driving this vehicle for 7 years. My manual has a much quicker and easier bleeding procedure than what you did. I kind of did it 50/50, your way/manual way. They don't raise it off the wheels, and they start engine right off and let it idle for a bit, then turn steering left/right several times avoiding hitting the stops, (not allowing it to max out left or right), then check fluid, add fluid if necessary, turn steering L/R more etc.

Super video, quality and description in detail. Only concern i have going in is the not coming out of park issue. I'm installing a new GM unit factory, not upgraded, on an 06 Tahoe so hope no drilling out issues as enough to do it once!! Thanks again for taking such time to cover what reading a manual can not.

I have a 2003 LB7. I had a built reman, built Allison, built transfer case, sportsman CP3, 30%, 116k, CCLB. I just had a pin hole in the high pressure power steering line develop a pin hole. The power steering pump is now toast. Changing out those high pressure lines if you haven’t yet.

I want to thank you this is the best video I have seen on changing out the brake booster out of all the videos. I have a 2004 GMC 2500 H D manufactured early 04. The fuel system parts for 2003. So I'm wondering so you need to drill out the hole on the break booster hole? My question to you is that while I'm there I'm going to replace the master cylinder the truck has $200,000 mi on it. So I'm thinking put the brake booster on first then the master cylinder and then bleed out the are in the master cylinder first then bleed out the booster? Thank you so much for your video. 2011 brake booster.

Little tip for that pesky brake pedal clip, you’ll have it off in 2 seconds like this. Roll it sideways, and stick a 90° pick in the front and lift up the little tab that curls under and then slide it up with your finger, comes off super easy like that 👍

Hey I have a 2005 Yukon SLT 5.3L automatic with 218,000 miles. All stock equipped. Doesn't make any noise of any kind, that's abnormal. Well kept and daily driver. I drove it out on the highway for 300 miles and when I exited Interstate it was in manual steering mode...stiff to turn like it had no pump at all. And the brakes were not boosted either. It's not the belt or fluids of steering or brakes...all good. No leaks. No codes. No smells. No noises of pump failure. It only does it at low rpms when coming to stop, under 700 rpm. It works fine when above that. And the brakes are unboosted when it does it also, but work. This is the pump I assume? Remove and replace eh? Suggestions of what pump brands you had success with? I'm eyeballing the O'Reily $72 special. Thanks!

My hydro boost is bad and I went to check my power steering pump to see what color my fluid was and it was milky and delaminated with rust but this truck has been sitting for about a year so would I just need to change the pump and the hydro boost or would I need new hoses and what not hopefully you see this and give me some advice on what needs to be done it’s a 03 3500

I wonder if there’s a seal in between the master cylinder and the hydro booster just because I recently replaced mines and still leaks underneath it through the fender well not a lot but you’ll see drips coming out

I'm wondering the same thing. Didn't see a seal when removing old one but the remanufactured one calls for one but didn't come with the purchase. This video does not mention the master cylinder flange seal.

I installed this in my 2005 Sierra 3500 duramax model. Install was straight forward. after the install was completed I discovered by transmission lockout would not release and I had no brake lights. I installed a new stop light switch and the transmission lockout functioned correctly but still no brake lights. Fuses are fine and brake lights work if I jumped the brake light terminals on the connector. Any suggestion on a fix?
