VERY IMPRESSIVE PRESENTATION. NOT A DIFFICULT PROJECT BUT VERY IMPORANT. I liked the description of the size of the bolts so Car Guy informs me of the tools needed to do the job! THANKS!

Thanks for taking the time to do this. Pretty straight forward but it's great to be able to check procedures on specific models that haven't been done before. PO

Hi. Do you happen to know the necessary tools to change the front and rear brake pads for a 2007 GMC Yukon Denali 6.0 liter engine? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Did you take off the brake fluid reservoir cap before pressing in the pistons?
@YourCarGuyDR5 жыл бұрын
Dave Burlison no. It isn’t necessary to remove the cap.

Did you replace the caliper bolts with new ones? Use blue loctite? Isn’t that recommended?

Is it necessary to bleed the brakes after? I'm seeing mixed results on Google as far as an answer
@YourCarGuyDR7 ай бұрын
Not unless you replace the calipers or remove the brake lines.

Note : 2000 Yukon XL - To Just Replace The Disc Pads, when the Rotors are Still Usable... Only Take off the. 2- T-55 Torx Caliper Bolts, Then Compress the Piston Cups, Use a Screwdriver to Pry out the Old Disc Pads. ( the 1- Sound Clip on the Caliper Piston Side, 2- Sound Clips on the Outside...) Load, Tap in the New Pads in Position, Reload the Caliper, Install the 2- T-55 Caliper Bolts. Start the Engine, Pump the Brake Pedal to Bring the Fluid to the Piston Cups again, Do the Same On the Other Front Side...No Need to Remove the " 18mm Bolts", or the " Bracket " = Quick and Easy...!! Also if the Caliper is Resisting to Unload...it is Because the Pads won't Clear the Worn Outer Ridge of the Rotor Surface Face... In that Case do whatever You Can to Start the Piston Cups- Just a Little Compression back into the Caliper...then the Caliper will Unload... I struggled with Both of My Front Calipers... To get Them Unloaded... But that was all it was... The taller ridge...on the Rotor Surface. ALWAYS USE JACK STANDS Your Welcome, BillinL.A. 12-05-2021.

If you pry the caliper back always be sure to hook up a small hose to your bleeder valve.Open your bleeder valve and let the brake fluid drain into a bottle while prying back the caliper.Close the bleeder each time you stop prying to keep air from going back up into the brake line.This will keep you from having headaches with anti lock system such as the Brake Light showing on after the Job is done.

What would you recommend to get stuck caliper bolts off? Breaker bar not helping - is it ok to use wd40?
@YourCarGuyDR2 жыл бұрын
You can use WD40 or any good penetrating oil. An impact gun can be helpful.
@YourCarGuyDR2 жыл бұрын
Just make sure to clean any oil that gets on the brake rotors off with some brake cleaner.

Will the rotor come off the same with a 2 wheel drive?
