I like it. I have great success with a speed build for my Hood. 38.9 knots. But I can see the Gneisenau could definitely challenge it with this set up. Very nice. ( RedOctoberTT)

Just but this build on my Gneisenau tonight. Fraser as second inspiration instead. 37+ knots wreaking ball! Causing mayhem everywhere. When they realise your not turning away and chase down destroyers you can really effect the outcome. Tbh twice I wiped out quickly by overextending. But I'll take 2 Krakens in 5 games all day! When you only had 5 before like me, that felt like a bit of an achievement. Your idea turned my grind to Bismarck into much more enjoyable experience. Relatively new to german line. I can see the attraction now. Thank you.

I have an Azur lane Hood speed build which was relatively effective. But without the torps and armour it could never effect the outcome as much as I usually played the flanks and longer game. It was great at hunting cruisers. I only tried this build today as I was grinding the ship to see if I'd liked the buffed Bismarck. As I am new to the brawler style, I wasn't happy with my build because it wasn't working for me as I was neither as fast or nearly as accurate as my hood and I hadn't the game plan right. Once I changed to this build and changed my mindset things worked out well. It was so effective at supporting my teams dds especlly when some players realized I was able to keep up and blitz the enemy ones. I'm sure my luck will dry up but tbh I haven't enjoyed a battleship more which I have to say was a surprise considering the mixed reviews of this ship.

Tell me about. I've never been close since using the new campaign Russian cruiser. Completely different. Never had a fire starter. Really enjoyable especially when broadside to confused burning Yammotos.

Before you read this, I should make it clear that I want to spark an intelligent conversation, and I want to learn what VII HIPPER’s Commander Build thought process is a little bit deeper. Now, with that said: I agree that the speed and maneuverability are under-looked on the high tier German BBs. But wouldn’t it make more sense to capitalize on some more of the brawling capabilities IN ADDITION TO the speed and maneuverability buffs? Like I feel like this type of play style would be more effective in a build like... - Ciliax (with Von Hipper and Gueprette inspirations: that way your secondaries can be firing, giving you more damage and fires off to the side, which is good as team play incase you can’t get a fire to stick and they burn their damage con) - Base Commander-Whatever-His-Name-Is (with Gueprette and Von Hipper: can increase fire chance, concealment (or any 2nd skill), speed and rudder shift: You can take advantage of buff fire chance of secondaries. This allows you to buff fire chance making you a more supportive team player, burning off their damage cons, whilst also having the maneuverability buffs to complement your playstyle. I feel like your full maneuverability build is wasting a lot of the BRAWLING potential of the Gneisenau. This is speaking from someone with multiple Krakens in Gneisenau. Is there something about your COMMANDER BUILD that I’m missing? I just see a lot of wasted skills (since they don’t apply to cruisers)... Thanks for the awesome video, VII HIPPER! Hopefully I’ll catch you on the high seas. :)

Imagine if we could swap the rather useless target acquisition with steering gears 3. I think BB's need more options in that slot. Also tbh I prefer AL Scharnhorst.

One of my fav ship First batleship with torpedo... I didnt like it on First runs But slowly it beacome one of my fav t6 batlsh. I Will try build with New comander picard from stelar clash

Agile builds work well with the Russians. They are meant to get close within 12km and their guns are essentially laser beams. My Vlady with Makarov hits 31.2 kts not super fast but the 8.3 sec rudder is nuts especially for torpedo beats. Also I can get that rudder a little better as my Makarov is only a level 14.2 and my AL Balty is level 15.2 and my Guepratte is level 16.2 so I can get the speed and rudder to improve a little more is going to be even nuttier. This also works awesomely on Izmail.

I’ve received messages calling me a hacker from an akatsuki user who was pissed I avoided every torpedo he fired at me and then hit him with an he blast and then my secondaries finished him. He was convinced there was no possible way a Vlady could do that. Lol

Why Lutjens? His base trait is Cruiser AP damage. Why not Ciliax whos base trait is Battleship main gun AP damage? Or Scheer? Just curious. Thanks

It’s not about the base trait. It’s about what skills the commander has, Lutjens has an agile cruiser build and Ciliax has a brawling Battleship build.

What are your thoughts on the Yorck? I'm guessing you're not a fan as I haven't seen it in your lineup at all. I switched consoles this generation (Series S), so I had to start over, but used to love the Gneisenau. I'm currently playing the Yorck, haven't quite made up my mind, had good and bad games.

I like Yorck, I found her HE better than the rest of the German line. Fire more HE in her with the rest of the line being AP focused.

@@James_T_Kirk_1701 I fire HE, except for broadside cruisers. I think my main problem is that I feel like I'm out-ranged by others, especially on open maps with hardly any cover. Using Lutjens as I don't have Muller on my xbox account. Maybe I'm just doing something wrong in my positioning, but I'm not sure what I can do when I spawn into a tier 7 match on a side with no islands for cover. I want to reposition, but I don't like abandoning my teammates. I can dodge pretty well, but eventually something catches me with a lucky hit, or whilst I'm dodging and doing damage, my entire team folds around me then I get focused. I tend to perform much better in my light cruisers for some reason.

@@cheesetoastie9678 honestly man these days are just harder for tier 6 cruisers, just so many laser accurate ships out now. Hipper is more than worth it though. Try and tough it out, you'll be glad you did.

@@James_T_Kirk_1701 I will, I'm well over half way there. I've just had a 100k+ game in the York, followed by a 60k game. I tend to only average about 50k per game in it. Lower than my light cruisers. I'm aware damage isn't everything, but it is still nice to do a decent amount for the team. For example, the 60k game I just played... I wanted to go left from spawn to the island cover as I was facing tier 7 BBs, but my teammates blocked me so I had to swing hard right to avoid sailing head on into their BBs and proceeded to have 3/4 of my health shaved off by a massachusetts. Seems to be the story of my life lately, hah. God I wish they'd push the spawns back to allow you to position without being spotted immediately, like we've been asking for since the beginning.

I’m currently grinding this to get the Bismarck. This ship is easily the worst in the game imo. It can’t hit a broadside from 3Km lol. It’s just awful
