2023. Solid no BS video to disassemble an reassemble front fork assembly. Very clear showing the parts and how they came out. Mine was stuck (ok, is still is... but now I think I know what to do next.) The Allen bolt was difficult. After bolt, I couldn't tell what should come out next to disassemble. Thanks.

The trick to getting the handlebars on straight is to first get that main allen bolt on just snug so you can still rotate the hinge when you slide the handlebar in place to line the bars up with the front wheel by "eyeball" but the hinge's main bolt should not be loose that it will rotate without the help of the handlebars. Then once straight you can move the bars out of the way and finish tightening the bolt without having the hinge move on you. That's exactly what I do in this video.

I would recommend going the extra mile & doing preventative measures on every scooter especially an older daily scooter. You should add In the guide before assembly to clean off the bearings/race & repack the bearings before reinstallation. Just a thought, but great instruction. 👍

@PMWgoped Thanks for the reply, It gets tight no matter what way I try spinning it. When I turn it clockwise, the fork becomes loose, and I can kind of wiggle it, but still the ring gets tight and does not come off. When I turn the ring counterclockwise, the fork can't be wiggled, and the ring gets tight. So I don't know what to think

@dagoon209 If the bars are bent then you may have no choice but to cut it off. If not bent and just stuck then there are a few things you can try. First, try to a light penetrating oil between the bar and slide tube. Second use a hair drier and try to heat up the slide tube as this will help loosen its grip a little. Then twist and pull, and with luck it should start moving. Key to keeping the slide tube from freezing up is to keep a little grease on the bar so it does not dry out.

hey i had a question about that last ring you remove before the fork can come off. on my scooter i got that far and started to turn the ring to remove it, but instead of coming off, it started to get tight, then got so tight that i cant turn it any further. any ideas? side note- its not a go ped brand scooter thanks

That Bearing Race Nut is getting a bit loose in my God Ped Know Ped. But I cannot get those special huge plumber pliers, anyother tools I could use to tighten it?

By the way the back brake of the Know Ped breaks, all people I know with one have got it torn. Think you could look into that and improve the design, I have not replace it and I brake with my trainer directly onto the rubber wheel. Actually the know ped looks nice.

@jjbb1212 Maybe, the nut has reverse threads, so try spinning it off the other way.

Your hinge fitting maybe broken, remove to find out and if so then replace ASAP. That hinge fitting is also a mechanical fuse that prevents the bars for separating form the rest of the scooter but if you ride it after it has popped then main bolt that hold it together may also break which you don't want to have happen. Other then that, you may not be getting the hinge on tight enough or your fork tube where the fitting fits into is stretched and no longer allowing the wedge to do its thing.

@ilgopeds4378 a "little"... Yes but the front fork should not wiggle at all. The bars are purposely designed to flex. Then there is a slight wiggle between the slide tube and the lower hinge it slides over to lock the bars in the upright position.

Great, that bolt needs to be really tight and why you see me using a cheater bar to tighten that bolt. You do need to be careful not to get it too tight which can lead to stripping the threads on the wedge but it sounds to me like you got just right now.
