Nothing beats the original. Vince gill has one of the most recognizable voices in the music industry. And the way that him Ricky and Patty were in complete synchronization throughout the entire harmonys is incredible
@spicerack4397 Жыл бұрын
I agree. This one, the original with Patty and Ricky is perfection....better than the George Jones one...the harmony here is too perfect and just epic.
@jefftappan28033 жыл бұрын
He did. The trio is Vince Gill, Patty Loveless, and Ricky Skaggs. He wrote it about his brother who had passed away, and dedicated to a friend, Keith Whitley, who also passed away.

This was the perfect one to watch. There is a version that Vince sang at George Jones' funeral and he is so broken he could not continue singing. Allison Krauss was with him on stage singing back-up and took over the song until he could gather himself. Worth a watch if you want to know what this song means to him.

Vince Gill began writing this song after the death of Country Music Star Keith Whitley and finished it a few years later after the death of Vince's brother. He never realized how much this song would be used at funerals. If you like harmony, try the acapella groups Pentatonix and Home Free. Both groups have a great bass singer.

I've watched a few of these reactions, and yours was a positive response full of Faith. "I'm gonna be shoutin' when I make it too." Loved that you joined in the spirit of praise and not just the grief. Watch Young and Pretty Vince Gill in Pure Prarie League sing Aimee back in 1975. Already on the charts. This chart topping fame followed in the 1980's for the following 20 years or so. His voice definitely made his way.
