8:09 gods don't bleed blood, you are correct, they have a golden ichor in their veins. The animator used red blood to make it easier to understand that Athena was injured and to avoid confusing the color with the yellow of the lightning.
@Nightspellweaver2 ай бұрын
Gwendy also made the blood red to symbolize Athena's journey from cold God to turning more human. That's why Zeus hesitates striking her that last time. He realizes Athena isn't the same daughter he knew. Something has changed.

Yeah, cuz I'm on the third book of Percy Jackson and they mentioned the "ichor" stuff
@NomNommies2 ай бұрын
A little "headcanon" that could work well is that considering Zeus can strip a god of their immortality in some myths, he ALMOST did with Athena, yet knowing she's his daughter, and well.. Athena's pretty important and etc, I like to think he just made it so she can bleed and be injured in that moment, and only as a way to punish her for defying him, Ik her being his daughter probably wouldn't make a difference since it's ZEUS but well, it's a fun touch I like to imagine.

I think one of the most annoying yet terrifying things about Zues is no matter how much of a monster he is, no matter how much he behaves like a toddler, no one can stop him because he's one of the most powerful beings in all of Greek Mythology. Like he is stated to be stronger than every other Olympian God combined, which is terrible since he is such a horrible person.

So basically my dad lol (No one could really stand up to him so he never changed.)
@James-nr2hi2 ай бұрын
@@boonAlina Pretty much, he is basically every sh*t dad combined into one. Here is a quick list of just a few things he's done to his kids. Each getting gradually worse. 1. He bullied Ares for losing a fight and basically said "If you weren't my son I'd throw you into Tartarus." 2. He personally ordered the kidnapping of Persephone (His daughter). 3. In some versions of the myths he physically threw Hephestus off of olympus for being an ugly baby (The fall crippled him for life) 4. He shapeshifted to his Daughter (Artemis) and then slept with her followers while pretending to be her. There are more but we'd be here all day.

I feel like a lot of people comment things like this but I just find it hilarious that Apollo and hephaestus REALLY don't care about Odysseus and I love to think they just come up with an excuse to be a part of the song. Apollo: " Uhh mHUeerhuhh.. Music..Music.. Sirens! Uh.. Oh yeah he killed some of them.. " Heph: " I just need a good beat to hammer down Zeus' bolt thank you very much. "

Hera is the Goddess of Family and marriage. Faithful Husbands are most important to her and she's married to Zeus, one of the biggest whores in Greek mythology. So the fact Odysseus never cheated makes him worthy in her eyes
@boonAlina2 ай бұрын
Yeah I was aware lol. That's why the joke was funny. I heard it's called the "Wrath of Hera" but it's kinda dumb cuz she would only release her wrath on Zeus's victims instead of Zeus himself. But I guess that makes sense since Zeus is powerful. Did you ever hear the story of Ganymede??
@Sate122 ай бұрын
@@boonAlina Athena uses the pet vanities of all the Gods, but getting Heras approval seems to be an extra dig at Zeus. Hera seemed more upset that Hebe was ousted for Ganymede than Zeus taking a male lover.

Honestly, Zeus going back on his word is out of character for him. As flawed as he is, he's always held the importance of oaths as uncompromising even for himself. I'm going to chose to believe that this stunt was him testing Athena's commitment to helping Odysseus.

@@boonAlina As I recall, in the first version of the song, Zeus included himself in the "game" ("and me" instead of "or me"). I was actually looking forward to see how Athena would convince her father. It's a shame they changed that part since the final would have made a lot more sens. It's even harder to imagin Zeus lashing out at Athena out of childish ragewhen you know that she is by all acounts his favorite child.
@seanchesteralexisexamen59642 ай бұрын
Zeus line "To make me feel shame" is in line with his wrath in the end. Remember that Zeus is a god King and also a god of justice. This made a great deal of conflict in this specific situation since he already passed his judgement (what happened to Ody and his crew after Thunder Saga) and Athena wishes to undo it; which is like Athena questioning Zeus' judgement even though that is his godly domain and also he is a King of the Gods on top of that.

Yeah I guess you're right. But the only thing I've heard about him is that he's horny. I figured Poseidon was the wrath filled one.
@Coolz_6732 ай бұрын
Zeus is horny. But he's also known to have an attitude, especially when being beaten. One myth states that he almost threw Apollo into Tartarus because Apollo killed some of his Cyclopes because Zeus killed his son. His own son, Apollo. Yeah, Zeus wouldn't hesitate to beat any of his children. His anger issues are worse than Ares'

athena's first few lines are built off of Zeus's melody in Thunder Bringer. "Thunder bring her through the wringer..." what this could mean? idk.
