The issue is a misunderstanding of what love and hate mean, by definition. Love is not affection, it's an action, the way you choose to treat someone. Hate is a strong dislike for someone/something. Love and hate are not opposites. God loves us, he shows his love to everyone by the simple fact they wake up everyday with a beating heart and the breath of life in their lungs. His love for us does not mean he can't have a very strong dislike for who someone choose to be. I've loved people, but hated their character.

Well put. God CAN both love you and hate you. Because they are not opposites. (Like I can see you, AND not hear you - and that would hold no contradiction.)

You think like a fleshly overbearing man. God is the father of all fathers. Do you know a good father who hates his children, even those that have turned away from truth? No, so stop thinking like a fleshy man who needs to determine outcomes to be validated. Christ humbled himself to the cross for us. He can’t be changed by us, but He can change us and it only requires that we humble ourselves and believe.✌🏼✌🏼

The pendulum always swings in Christianity. Even in Proverbs there's 6 things He hates all attributed to the attitude of the people who do this. There are times when we ourselves hate when we hear stories of children being sexually violated by an unrepentant person. Or stories where people did absolute horror to someone's loved one eg, Jeffrey Dahmer, Charles Manson so on so forth. We cry for justice because the consequences of their putrid behavior forever affects another's life. God does have a perfect hatred toward people (He is just) and a perfect love towards people only provided and demonstrated through His Son.

remember the Word of God is a double edged sword. If one continues in his sins and refuses to repent, he becomes an enemy of God. Remember God's love always come with the condition of wrath against those who refuse and rebel. God is not just Love, God is Just and Righteous.

Amazing... God is incredible. The God of life came to earth as Jesus to destroy sinners through rebirth. He killed us with life. His wrath is wrapped in love. The old sinful selfish us must be put to death by His wrath/love and we are born again in Jesus. Just as the flood destroyed the wickedness of the Earth, so does Jesus but in a way that is full of life.

Everyone here mist have at least one person in their life whom, yes they love, but because of the way they are treating you or others, you just wanna smack them upside the head. And no matter what you say to them, they dont listen or care an inch. Its the same w God in my opinion. Back to Platt, he DID say God loves the sinners in a sense and then went on to focusing on the hate side? Why? Cos too many people have pink painted the idea of God. Same reason why those guys in the pews laughed ...someone here asked why... cos yeah for dure, some of his presentation is funny, but most of it isnt and ppl think it dont apply to them.

It may sound good but there are too many verses in the New Testament that prove that God loves sinners. I believe everything changed with Jesus... hence “for God so LOVED the world...” i mean honestly can you imagine going up to someone on the street right now and letting them know that God hates them and will continue hating them unless they repent of their sin. Anyone with more insight on this have an opinion? I’m just trying to learn more.

TheWarKing27 we are called to preach the gospel because it is our duty. Jesus did say to preach and go make disciples of all nations. However, the issue lies with people constantly using God to overlook their sin. Yes God Did send Jesus but the key to that verse is when it says for those Who Believe. We are sinners by nature but once God saves us then we are forgiven through Jesus.

Psalm 145:9 The LORD is good to all; His compassion rests on all He has made. God is Love, You matter and are loved, Jesus said to fear not because we are worth more than many sparrows, let me explain how forever punishment is not biblical, to the original language of the New Testament, (Koine Greek) in 1 Timothy 4:10 savior of “all people” and (especially) of those who believe, everyone lives forever not just the Christian’s, the word Aionon and it’s variations mean Age for punishment not forever, The iron smelting furnace He called the slavery in Egypt, the lake of fire is not literal, Jesus speaks of a prison and says, you won’t get out “until” you have paid the last penny, God is love, always, His punishments are always rooted in His nature of love and goodness, they serve justice and then He restores, as He said He will do to sodom in Ezekiel, about the worm will never die where people say is a place where they are forever tortured, Isaiah said it’s about corpses, (gehenna) never should have been translated “hell” earth judgement in the valley of hinnom, they sleep in hades, this idea of God torturing people in fire would never please Him, He would never let it happen, He doesn’t even find pleasure in the death alone of the wicked, when He lets destruction happen He is thinking about that beings forever, if He purges out the evil and then restores them, His ways are higher than ours, no amount of evil inside of His creation, could ever change who God is, He will always be the same loving being and things don’t get to Him the way they do to us, the word that is used to show them on the outside of the Kingdom (After) the lake of fire, the word is “Exo” used 63 times in the New Testament, never once for dead, always “Outside” God is love, never let that leave your sight, to understand Him, only Jesus can get us there, His death saved every single being from death, we need to repent still from sins, the righteous will be rewarded greater, He hates dishonest scales, God loves everyone, but those in Christ do not come into judgement, and inherit the Kingdom if they are worthy, the others will be individually judged, all different beings, not a one size fits all punishment, including satan and every different human, it’s unjust Universal Reconciliation is the truth.

This comment is many years after your own comment, but what you are discerning is not what most (insofar as I can tell) are able to discern (including Platt here). Genre matters when reading the Bible. We are not to read poetry as history. Neither are we to read an epistle as poetry. When people do not stop and slow their thinking down while reading the Bible, they make statements that are entirely out of context. Context matters. Genre matters. To illustrate my point: the punchline of a joke is not funny without all that that led up to it. The punchline, "...so the doctor said, 'It's a spoon!'" will not make anybody laugh without first the set up. In like manner, the context in which we read this or that statement from the Bible informs how we are to interpret the statement. So, to answer your question plainly, the way in which you tell how you are to interpret starts off first by recognizing the genre. If you're reading this years later, please consider reading Bauer and Traina's book entitled Inductive Bible Study. There's a ton in there, but three years ago your brain was already recognizing that we should not make any given statement say something it wasn't meant to say and that we should consider many more things when it comes to interpretation. I hope this helps.

Short answer....Yes! Long answer.......Yes! If we say we have no sin we make God a liar! We are declared righteous (imputation) but repentance is part of our sanctification and perseverance as well as being granted repentance through regeneration of the Spirit at conversion! We live a life of repentance when new mercies we see daily!

God does remove all sin we have repented of. But when we sin again we must repent again. The real issue to consider is how often we sin. I don't believe there is a person alive who can go 24 hrs without sinning. A lot of people won't admit to this but its the truth. When you accept the teachings of JESUS its pretty clear. Any thoughts that you have that are unkind, untrue, or immoral are a sin. That's why we need to repent daily. I pray and ask forgiveness every morning when I wake. Every night before I go to sleep. And even during the day. If you have sinned and you know you have done or thought sinfully you should make it a habit to just take a moment and repent of it as soon as you are aware of your sin. God bless you and KEEP going in your FAITH.

The biblical definition of "sinner" is someone who revels in sin, as a "drinker" is someone who revels in drinking. *THE MOST HIGH 𝐉𝐄𝐒𝐔𝐒* hates sinners indeed, because they love sin.
@forbiddenmemez4786
@forbiddenmemez4786 16 күн бұрын
Every man by definition is a sinner. Every human being is born into sin and is therefore bound to sin. "Sinner" isn't a title reserved for those who seemingly revel in sin or sin more than others. Everyone including people who you'd call "good" falls short of the glory of God by sinning, not just those who "revel" in it. As for Jesus "hating" sinners thats a very wicked and dumb message, considering Jesus himself came to save sinners and was criticized for dining with them by the self righteous pharisees and even went as far as to undergo extreme physical torment during his crucifixion to ensure that sinners like you and me could be saved.

Does God Hate Sinners? There are many Old Testament (old covenant) verses that talk about God hating sinners. Leviticus 20:23; Psalm 11:5; 26:5; Proverbs 6:16-19; 16:5; Hosea 9:10-15 and Malachi 1:2-3. These passages teach that God hates sinners or evil and wicked people. In contrast the New Testament (New Covenant) scriptures also teach that God loves everyone. Romans 5:8 “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us” John 3:16 New King James Version 16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 1 John 4:8-9 Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love. In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him. Luke 6:35-36 New King James Version 35 But love your enemies, do good, and lend,hoping for nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High. For He is kind to the unthankful and evil. 36 Therefore be merciful, just as your Father also is merciful. Many teachers that hold to the notion that God hates sinners tend to use Old Testament verses to justify their theology. Yes, the whole Bible is the inspired word of God, But again let us be reminded that we are under a new covenant. Our main example of God loving sinners is found in Jesus. Jesus showed the world God’s love when He came to earth and healed the sick, cleansed the lepers, delivered the demon possessed, fed the multitudes and Died for all. How many of them where sinners? All of them, because Jesus had not died on the cross yet. God loves the sinner (the person who is sinning) and wants to save them from their sin. On other words, He loves the person apart from thier sin. Romans 5:8 “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us” Romans 5:10 New Living Translation 10 For since our friendship with God was restored by the death of his Son while we were still his enemies, we will certainly be saved through the life of his Son The Word of God loudly screams that God loves everyone. He rescued the wicked city of Nineveh through a reluctant prophet called Jonah. Jesus died for the sins of the world. But in contrast to the holy believers, God is not very pleased with those who reject Him. Yet, God loves the world. God will leave the 99 to rescue the 1 that is lost. He loves you apart from your sin. He loves the sinner enough to die for the sinner. He wants to rescue the sinner from thier sin. The fact that Jesus died for the world shows us how much He loved sinners by going to a cross and dying for them. Romans 5:8 “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us” So yes, God loves the sinner and wants to rescue them from thier sin.

This is a pristine example of why Jesus showed up and revealed to all the Old Testament experts - "none of you know God the father". Why Jesus showed up and said "Moses said eye for an eye... you can divorce... etc... BUT I SAY (hmmmm... Moses was wrong?). God is not the enemy of the damned, he's the savior of the damned. Jesus came to take away the sin of the WORLD, came to seek and save the LOST - and he finished. What heresy 3:00-3:20. Colossians 2:11, Romans 3:24, Romans 5:18 and on and on.... This is what Paul referred to as "another gospel". No wonder Hebrews 1:1-3... Penal substitution is even a more demonic doctrine - the father didn't kill Jesus, wicked men did. Why would God like a sinner who keeps sinning who's not even trying to repent and ask for forgiveness? In 1 Corinthians 5: 4-5, Paul is telling the people to deliver those who don't want to obey God and are doing sinful things that we are to hand them over to Satan so that they may be saved some day. In Joshua 7:25 God told Joshua and the people of Israel to kill Achan because he disobeyed God, so the people lit rocks on fire and stoned Achan AND HIS FAMILY to death because God wanted his people to be pure and holy. In conclusion, God really dislikes sinners and their sins.

Exegesis consists of looking at more than one passage. Don’t trust the pastor who goes off of one verse for an hour. The Bible is Gods Holy Word, and it never contradicts itself when properly interpreted. This verse taken out of context like this contradicts John 3:16.

Daniel Gregory I’m not trying to be ignorant to you or brash in anyway, but he is preaching the Bible. What do you think hell is? It is God’s Holy, righteous, hated upon sinners. But God, while his wrath was upon us sinners, brought upon his son to die in our place and take our sins upon himself so that we may be washed and rightly call our creator, Father. God Bless you sir.

Anything more would be to rely on your own works, in which God will say to depart. Ive listened to this guy a lot and he has never said to rely on your works. Never. @@monkeybearmax Ok I see that you are an antinomian. Platt has never said that you cannot have assurance. You can. You can have assurance that you have living faith by your repentance. Repentance is the evidence, or fruit of your living faith. Some may ask, how much repentance is needed to have assurance? Well, there isn't a specific amount of repentance, but there is a growing amount of repentance. James 2:14- 25 14 What use is it, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but he has no works? Can [n]that faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister is without clothing and in need of daily food, 16 and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, [o]be warmed and be filled,” and yet you do not give them what is necessary for their body, what use is that? 17 Even so faith, if it has no works, is [p]dead, being by itself. 18 But someone [q]may well say, “You have faith and I have works; show me your faith without the works, and I will show you my faith by my works.” 19 You believe that [r]God is one. You do well; the demons also believe, and shudder. 20 But are you willing to recognize, you foolish fellow, that faith without works is useless? 21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered up Isaac his son on the altar? 22 You see that faith was working with his works, and [s]as a result of the works, faith was [t]perfected; 23 and the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “And Abraham believed God, and it was reckoned to him as righteousness,” and he was called the friend of God. 24 You see that a man is justified by works and not by faith alone. 25 In the same way, was not Rahab the harlot also justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out by another way? 26 For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead. Acts 3:19 Therefore repent and return, so that your sins may be wiped away, in order that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord Acts 20:21 21 solemnly testifying to both Jews and Greeks of repentance toward God and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 John 3:4-10 4 Everyone who practices sin also practices lawlessness; and sin is lawlessness. 5 You know that He appeared in order to take away sins; and in Him there is no sin. 6 No one who abides in Him sins; no one who sins has seen Him or [b]knows Him. 7 Little children, make sure no one deceives you; the one who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous; 8 the one who practices sin is of the devil; for the devil [c]has sinned from the beginning. The Son of God appeared for this purpose, to destroy the works of the devil. 9 No one who is [d]born of God practices sin, because His seed abides in him; and he cannot sin, because he is [e]born of God. 10 By this the children of God and the children of the devil are obvious: [f]anyone who does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor the one who does not love his brother.

You say in this video that ‘the Bible teaches that God hates the sinner’ and you quote Psalm 5:5 for this. The word ‘sinner’ does not appear in this verse or even in this Psalm. Therefor your statement is not Biblical and false. This verse says ‘The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity.’ Note ‘all’; no such worker is excluded! You also say that ‘the Bible teaches 14 times in the first 15 Psalms that God hates the sinner’. The word ‘sinner’ is found twice in the first 15 Psalms and both are in Psalm 1 but nothing is said there about hate. The word ‘hate’ appears 3 times in these 15 Psalms but not once with the word ‘sinner’. Again, your statement is not Biblical. You said three times in this video ‘we are sinners’. Given your teaching you then say that God hates those who are included in your ‘we’; I would assume yourself also.

According to Strong's and Brown-Driver-Briggs 'properly to pant (hence to exert oneself, usually in vain; to come to naught); strictly nothingness; also trouble, vanity, wickedness; specifically an idol; trouble, wickedness, sorrow'. Workers of iniquity can surely be called sinners. But to quote the Bible is not to give one's understanding of a verse; the Bible must be quoted correctly. In this case it can be quoted as saying 'thou hatest all workers of iniquity'. Bear in mind it includes all such workers; those who have accepted Jesus also.

God hates our sin, not the sinner. John 3:16-18. For God so love the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, Jesus, that WHOSOEVER believeth in Him, should not perish, but HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE. First John 1:8. If we say we have no sin, we are deceived and the TRUTH is not in us. Romans 6:23. And He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only, but for the sins of the whole world. John 3:18. Believers are no longer condemned, but unbelievers are condemned already, because they have not believed on the name of the Son of God. Romans 1:16. For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, (First Corinthians 15:1-4,) for it is the POWER of God unto salvation to everyone that BELIEVETH, to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. John 5:24. Redeemed, redeemed, redeemed by the blood of the lamb, redeemed, redeemed, a child and forever, a child and forever I am. First John 5:13. These things have I written unto you that BELIEVE on the name of the Son of God, that ye may KNOW YE HAVE ETERNAL LIFE. Life that lasts forever. Jesus paid the debt of sin we owe God and set us free. John 3:18. Romans 11:6. John 6:47. Verily, verily, I say unto you, he that believeth on me HATH EVERLASTING LIFE. Romans 4:5. Faith is not a work. It is faith apart from works. And the GIFT of God is eternal life. Romans 6:23. Not faith and not a reward for good behavior, but a free gift. PAID IN FULL. John 3:18. Galatians 1:6-9 Though we or an angel from heaven preach any other gospel unto you than that we have preached unto you, LET HIM BE ACCURSED. As we said before, so say I again, if any man preach any other gospel than that ye have received from us, LET HIM BE ACCURSED.

Then explain Psalm 5:5-6 and Psalm 11:5. The Greek word for "hate" in both of those verses means "to hate". God has every right to hate sinners because He is perfect, righteous, holy, and we are the complete opposite of all of those. The Bible says that whoever is a friend of the world is an enemy of God. God does not send the sin to hell, He sends the sinner to hell. His wrath is not against sin. His wrath is against sinners. He hates us so much that He provided a way to salvation through Jesus, because He loves us so much. How is that possible for God to hate and love us at the same time? We do not and will not ever know because in our carnal, fallible minds it doesn't make sense. It's not logical to us. But God's thoughts, ways, and character are not based on logic.
