Thanks for this straightforward no-nonsense how-to. How to install the softbox on the mount and how to fold it up afterwards are simple procedures but certainly not obvious if you’ve never had one like this before.

Thank you so much, mine just arrived for a photo shoot on Monday and I panicked when I couldn't work out how to fit the S bracket and how to refold the softbox into it's original pack. Your video was so precise and a great go to for a fast simple solution. Great also to see it in use and the finished product, beautiful images. Cheers, subscribed for some more great videos. Bless :D

This type of setup is actually very portable and perfect for travel. I have one like this although not the Godox brand (mine is generic) but the softox folds up into a small ball basically about the size of a soup bowl. Mine S-bracket, flash and portable flash stand all fit into a carry-on bag, making them the best portable one-light setup. Of course the light stand I use is not great for outdoor use in windy conditions but it's portable and good for indoor shoots. Would strongly recommend something like this if you need something portable or are starting out as you can get these types of softboxes for $30 or less probably.

Thanks for the video. I now have the Godox 32" softbox model that comes with the honeycomb grid and the new S2 speedring, a light sock, and carry case, all for $65 from Amazon. Like you, I keep both white diffusion panels on 24/7 (but remove the honeycomb grid for transport). It's a little tricky to fold the sucker down so sometimes I just leave it flat in a triangular shape. I use my Godox AD200 Pro flash with the Godox H200R round head for softer light and 3x modeling lamp all attached to the softbox for portable studio lighting on location.

@richardpcrowe6 жыл бұрын
This is a smallish speedlight but, is great for outdoor use since it won't sail off in the wind like a far larger softbox might. It can also be filled by the light from a hotshoe flash. The larger softboxes often cannot be fully filled with the hotshoe...

@billmorley35306 жыл бұрын
Your product link actually goes to the "Neewer" softbox, not Godox! I just bought it and got that surprise :(. Also, it cost more than the $26 that you mentioned. Does the Godox bracket fit a Canon 600 EX RT-3? I just tried the Neewer bracket and it doesn't fit.
@TrentDangphoto6 жыл бұрын
I was looking for the godox one with the full kit, but I can't find it for the lower price. The godox and neewer are the same, it is just branding. S-bracket does fit the canon 600 flash. I'm not sure why your does not. Trying unscrewing it all the way if possible.
@billmorley35306 жыл бұрын
I finally got it to fit--just barely, but I had to twist it a bit to get it in. I notice that there is only rubber padding on the bottom. The top part is plastic and the flash does not hold firmly, even when I tighten it down hard.
@jasonbodden88166 жыл бұрын
Then that flash bracket is faulty because I own 4 of them and every one of them holds my speedlites just fine (I have a Canon 600 EX-RT and 4 Yongnuos).
