As others AND Adam Wingard himself said, the end of GvK saw Godzilla and Kong make peace. However, this peace is predicated on them never crossing paths again; Godzilla rules the surface, and Kong stays in the Hollow Earth. Then Kong ends up coming to the surface anyways while Godzilla is dealing with everything, so of course the Alpha has to address this. He already doesn't like Kong, and this is basically a breach of their agreement, meaning all bets are off.

Given how often this remark from Adam Wingard has been mentioned in the comments (namely in the last video where D Man made the point about not getting why Godzilla is attacking Kong), I'm honestly surprised D Man simply restated his "they made peace" idea here with no further explanation. I know he is wary of spoilers, but if he reads any comments I would think he would have seen at least one referencing what Wingard said.

To everyone who keeps bringing up the wingard interview: please stop it. You clearly don’t believe that yourselves if that is the only thing you can point to as your justification. Adam wingard is a talented enough director to convey that on screen without having to explain it. But the ending of GvK does not line up with his explanation at all. In the previous movie it was very clear that the two made peace and agreed to stop fighting, where in that ending does it imply that Godzilla would try kill him if he came back to the surface? And if that was the case it just makes Godzilla a moron who thinks it’s a good idea to kill potential allies. No wonder he has no friends. Wingard probably just wanted Godzilla and kong to fight again and came up with an incredibly flimsy justification to do so.

Some G man fans are about to be triggered but hear me out if Kong will be able to tie it against Godzilla with the beast glove he might actually be able to beat Godzilla with the axe and the beast glove combined i mean think about it The axe can Block godzillas atomic breath and turn it against him He has the thunder punch which could do damage and Kong half hearted that uppercut and it still did a lot of damage without the lightning Kong is more agile than Godzilla because even tho Godzilla can run faster kong can still climb things and jump on things faster which could give him an advantage and he can also dodge attacks easier Also im assuming the beast glove heals Kong faster in general and with the beast glove he will be able to get in harder hits with the axe too Im also assuming that godzillas atomic breath is more powerful now in his evolved form which would only make strikes from the axe stronger when its charged up

I have to disagree with you in the fact that Kong can beat Godzilla with a gauntlet because if that's the case then what would be the point of Godzilla's new form if he's able to get easily beaten by Kong with just one gauntlet it just wouldn't make no sense to me that a evolution that is supposed to make Godzilla much more powerful to easily get beaten like that and I'm not just saying that because I'm a Godzilla fan I'm saying that from both perspectives because I love Kong as well
