I would've preferred if Godzilla banished Scylla to the Hollow Earth instead of out right killing her but it is a shame. In the end, she could've been saved if it not were for the humans that woke her up but she still chose her path regardless. As for Tiamat on the other hand...

Godzilla killed Scylla because she challenged him for a nuclear sub in the GvsK prequel comic, and then in the GxK prequel comic Godzilla was being lured by a poacher group outside of their operating zone using nuclear waste as bait, with scylla snatching up godzilla's prize every time, until G man caught up to her in Rome. Godzilla already spared her life after being insubordinate, so it was only natural to weed out any threats to his territory. Similar story with Tiamat, although, Tiamat and Godzilla's conflict is over lairs. First she didn't want to give up Godzilla's old lair, and then Godzilla came to her door(in GxK) and instead of retreating peacefully, giving her king what she wants, she retaliated, getting herself killed. Maximum respect for wingard for paying attention to all of the canon media so far, since Tiamat and Scylla were the only titans whose killing at the hands of godzilla was justifiable. He usually tries to make them bow, he ain't that murderous.

Is it me or where there more titan outposts shown in GxK specifically when they’re talking about Tiamat, when they show her ice “pink steroid” lair it appears that surrounding her lair there are Monarch outposts, so that could maybe mean more titans in the monsterverse to offset the ones who are getting sent to the character selection screen by Goji

I watched the movie yesterday night. First things first, i am beyond bummed about the tiamat encounter. Secondly, the first thought after watching this movie I've noticed or realized that this needed at least an additional hour. It just didn't work at all in terms of pacing. Not even a little bit.

It was the writers who made Godzilla and Scylla fight each other. But if I was in charge of writing for the GXKTNE movie, I would have fight either a Skullcrawler, Amhuluk, a giant Bramleboar, a giant Spineprowler, a giant Frost Vark, a Warbat, or Camazotz.

Your review helped me to realize that Godzilla killing scylla in this movie kind of really revealed how much of just a worse of ruler he has become and how much of an A-hole he's become. To me there is no truly justifiable reason to kill scylla even after everything she's done to disrupt the natural order. That, and there really is no need to kill scylla. Godzilla really could have, or rather should have simply banished her to the hollow earth where she could properly reproduce and would have plenty of radiation to feed on, which would likely heap fiery coals over her head and would make her less antagonistic towards him. Him killing her in my opinion also only removed a potential ally if Godzilla we're to humble her and force her to see the bigger picture when it comes to her service on earth and to it's environment. A large missed opportunity. I hope there is a sequel in which Godzilla comes against a threat that is more powerful than him (not in a way that shimo is almost, but more smarter and maybe even bulkier than Godzilla), another member of his species that he's never encountered before, but even in his super charged pink state he cannot defeat because of the amount of armor, intelligence, and much larger size this new godzilla has. This Godzilla defeats him and strips him of his power and alpha status. This Godzilla also happens to be what Godzilla is as of now int he monster verse, but a much more extreme version of him. What Godzilla himself could become in a way if he's is not challenged. The other Godzilla realizes through trying to get him to submit that this Godzilla is stuborn and instead bansihes him to either a secluded part of the hollow earth or a isolated part on the surface world. In this story Godzilla's journey would be a humbling one in which he enounters the errors of his rule and the bitterness and his excessive ego he's come to cultivate too much. And in turn learns to be a better ruler over the titans.

Why does Godzilla fight Scylla? Because he’s a bully and a tyrant that’s why. Look what he did to Tiamat. Tiamat was minding her business when Godzilla shows up unannounced and starts destroying her lair. Tiamat tries to rightfully protect her home and herself and Godzilla decides to execute her. Godzilla is like that spoiled kid who will call the principle because he didn’t get the playground to himself. How is this guy any better than ghidorah? I fond the movies as a direction are starting to cheapen the stories and franchise. In the first new one one godzilla felt massive, scary, unknown, same with the Muto. Same with Kong Skull Island. Ive watched all the origionals back to the black and white origionals. All 50+ of them, read the comocs blah blah blah. And its by far one of my favourite franchises. But after this one the monesters all start to feel too much like WWE wrestlers, too colourful pretty and quick, makes them feel small, predoctable and kinda lame.
