I feel like Tim is too focused on everything being as interconnected as the MCU, crossovers don’t have to be as deeply engrained, it’s okay if Godzilla and Kong just walk up to each other now and then.
@Spookymulder4tuna3 жыл бұрын
This is my main gripe with the MCU. Not everything has to follow that formula. It’s dumbed down people’s way of thinking about franchises and sequels now. As soon as people started saying Star Wars should be more like the MCU, that’s when I knew things were going south.

I would be with him if the other movies were really good. They weren’t. Does anyone actually care about characters in other movies?
@TeamEthicsDK3 жыл бұрын
I think it’s justified because that’s literally why this movie exists because everyone was trying to copy Marvel. So I think it’s fair to judge it by those standards if it’s not completely stand alone like for example Joker was. 😊

I actually agree with him because part of the worst parts of these movies are the human characters, and that’s mostly because we have to keep setting up whole new casts of characters every movie. In the very least, making them interconnected would let us just dive right into the action.

The way people are so warped around the idea of connected universes is sooooo dangerous. People aren't realising that studios are now just implementing the television formula which is a financial bombshell for them because they just now charge people more to watch episodes of a tv show and call it a 'connected universe'. And it doesn't matter how bad a movie is, because in a 'connected universe' they always promise for the future and it's all apparent set up (which never really is) to suck people in for sequels that also promise for the future and consists of even more set up.

Ya'll need to stop expecting every franchise to be the MCU. Hell, a lot of the MCU films aren't even that good, regardless of well connected everything is. Kevin was clearly in the right about shit like Charles Dance's group from KotM procuring Ghidorah's head for Apex. Sure, they could've had a line in there, with the CEO of Apex explaining that, but they didn't, and it doesn't matter. Yeah, there are too many humans, but that's every monster movie. If you want actually good stories in your Godzilla films, then there's only a couple to really recommend. The original 1954 film, and 2016's Shin Godzilla, from Hideaki Anno, the Evangelion creator). Most of the Godzilla franchise is just dumb fun, with a surprising amount of heart. Why can't it just stay that way? And to answer Kevin, Godzilla only went after Kong, because Kong is another Alpha level Titan, like he is. The scientist literally said that before they moved Kong off of Skull Island.

Or covers it up. I’ll never forget the money I realized this and how egregious it was was when Godzilla comes back after getting the nuke refresh, and goes to face Ghidorah again, and JUST as they clash...a plane descend covering them from our view. There’s very very little of any actual fighting you see between Godzilla and other monsters in the other movies. This one actually delivers that and actually has them have WAY more screen time than the other movies combined. Easily the best of the movies for what I’m looking for. Godzilla fighting Kong. I mean this movie should be 1 jut for the scene where Godzilla gets on all fours and just goes crazy on Kong.
