They say in Kansas that you can watch your dog run away for 3 days.

Thanks for the video! I’m from central Kansas now living in Kansas City… embarrassed to say I’ve never heard of Mount Sundlower! 😀 thanks for the lesson! Enjoyed your video.

We’ve been to Mt Sunflower! Husband flew his kite in the strong Kansas wind of late June. The shelter has been built since that time. Thanks for doing this.

So glad to see a new video! You remind me of my son Parker, and we have watched all your other high point videos - you and your dad are inspiring us to try and get to some high points ourselves! What a fun way to get to hang out ❤️ Have a Merry Christmas!

Jessica Stevens Tucker I’m so glad to hear that. And what a great decision! It’s a very worthwhile effort, it’s very rewarding. Best of luck with your highpoint journey! Keep us posted!

Always fun to watch your videos. Have you slept out under the stars in any remote locations on your travels? I can only imagine how awesome that would be since I live in a Light-Polluted big city and only get to see a handful of stars.

David Kleen it is a real treat to sleep under the stars, I have to say. Not sure where you live, but I have lived my whole life in Houston where not a single star is visible, and I’ve made an effort to make the 8 hour trek out to Big Bend in West Texas as much as possible for just that reason. Honestly, I think it makes the experience of a clear sky so much better and more special when it’s not the norm and only happens every once in a while. You should definitely make an effort to do that when you can. But don’t worry, they aren’t going anywhere! Also, thanks for the support and kind words!! ^^

When do you plan on attempting the 4 hardest: Denali, Granite, Gannett, and Rainier? Also, what order do you plan on for taking on those 4? Will you be going to the Highpointers Convention in July?

If only you could have gotten to the Geological Survey marker but the fence was in the way.

Are you at the top of Mt Sunflower? I can't see a mountain there. What is the elevation?
@grtshw4 жыл бұрын
The highest point itself is actually over 4,000 ft above sea level. That's basically just because of the gradual increase in altitude as you move west from the central part of the country towards the rockies, though. There was absolutely no prominence at the highpoint itself, it was just a point in the middle of a field. We basically just had to trust that the research was right and it was actually the highest in the state.

@@grtshw But they call it a mountain anyway.
@grtshw4 жыл бұрын
@@legamature Pretty sure that's the joke, haha. It's nothing like a mountain, but still the highest point so they gave it a sarcastic name

@@legamature nope we call it “Mount”. We realize it’s not a mountain.
