I am french too.
@jzacchi26273 ай бұрын

The song is a revolutionary song which speaks of hanging aristocrats from the lanterns. The conciergerie was a royal castle before being used as a prison during the Revolution, where Marie Antoinette was imprisoned until her execution up the river at Concorde square. It's stone masonry mostly with guard room royal chapel and other living quarters
@Zepeg784 ай бұрын
Funny facts: Danton, one of revolution leaders, was then sent - by other radical revolution leaders! - to this prison as well, in the exact same cell where the queen was during her trial. This period of time during the revolution was called "La Terreur" (which I don't need to translate 😊) and around 40 people was beheaded PER DAY during La Terreur. A real carnage.

This might be the most metal think I've ever seen and at the freakin' Olympics! Its metalhead Christmas. I have seen some videos on Reddit without the annoying commentary.

Cool moment for the metal community. And for the name of the song it's pronnounced "ah sa irra"

Just to enhance the performance. The last seconds, everything is red, pyro, lights, fabrics.... It's a reference of the blood from beheaded during French Revolution

Gojira plays and sings a Heavy Metal version of one of the most famous songs of the French Revolution of 1789, "Ah ça ira, ça ira," sung at the very beginning by the "severed head" ^^

"Imagine seeing this back in the 17 or 1800s, you'd be like 'That's the devil.'" Well, I guess we've learned people haven't changed much given the backlash. 😂😂

Their performance was amazing! And my favorite Gojira song is not one, there is multiple of them, and they are Vacuity, Oroborus, Lenfant Sauvage, Esoteric Surgery and Another World. I love those songs, man. They are best!
