I’m a hardcore live sound engineer of 26 years and metal bands love my mix without fail. This is indeed an excellent mix! Every single board mix video is incredible. Phone recordings, eh. I do always feel the bass is a bit buried though, even on the albums, but I’m also a bass player, so,.....yeah a little bias. Jean-Michel c’est magnifique et s’amuse toujours! Groove masters without being a rehash of every other band. To me they are like Sepultura, in that they are purely original in sound yet are an amalgamation of all that came before. In early 90’s, when you heard Sepultura, you knew immediately even if you had never heard the song. Same with Godzilla. Gojira is supposed to be the original Japanese pronunciation of Godzilla. Gojira!!!

@@austinhunt4260 Same. in the metal world they are pretty big but not mainstream. Many people only know one song which is Stranded
@austinhunt42603 жыл бұрын
Totally agree. They’re likely to become the biggest contemporary metal band if FORTITUDE is consistent with the BFOT single. That song is a fu-ree-king monster. It alone made me change my opinion of ANOTHER WORLD. I was not very hopeful for the new album.

@@ThanosOfLight Maybe in Europe, but here in my entire country, I only know of 2 people other than me that knows them and listens to them. It's not a popular band really, it's has a very loyal fanbase, but I wouldn't say they're popular. They're getting bigger and bigger yes but I do feel like Austin's prediction is accurate, they're about to grab a wholeeee new level of popularity. Just look at all the reactions and views the new song got!

I remember a year or two or three ago reading a comment which said Gojira were the most important band in metal. I say much more important than that. They truly don’t care to emulate any other band on the planet, but is deliciously addicting, distinctly their own groove, and uniquely placed with the true greats for sheer force of reckoning and identification with real feeling people. They might care how other bands make music, but they don’t show it. Those are the traits of the epic legends of art.
