I would've given my soul to have had the opportunity to take a gold mining course in school as a youth. You sir, are an inspiration to so many youths today. Keep up the great work!

Gold bearing area schools probably the reason. Back in NC, I don't think you can even purchase a class in a Community College.

Here in the swiss alps we have many of those holes with the rocks in it. We call them "Gletschermühlen" - "Glacier mills" They are really beautifull to look at, but here in switzerland unfortunately there's no natural gold to be found.

Dan, first of all i want to thank you for your videos - i find them extremely helpful. I have a question and i hope you will either answer or make a video if you think it might be useful. my question what are the best methods of extracting certain sizes of gold . for instance what are the reasonable sizes that you can pan, and when does it become unreasonable to continue panning. I have seen recommendations on the internet but i would like your opinion. you have lots of equipment , but i only have a big pan and a small pan. should i try to practice panning more or just get some other equipment and what do you suggest for the most reasonable gain for the effort. ? I hope this is clear and i thank you for your response. again thanks for your videos. cheers.

I found holes like you're talking about but there were so many of them I just thought somebody had dug them in Bedrock to catch gold..thing is wasn't looking for, even thinking bout gold, when Goldie was riding in my truck...

So if you find one of those active potholes would it be wise to say drop a couple other big rocks in there so that it would stop the grinding and start catching the gravel's flown over it?
@imdawolfman26984 жыл бұрын
Shhhh! No Micheal, that would be akin to KILLING a pothole, which has been proven BY SCIENCE to calm the SPIRIT of a river or creek, much like a fidget spinner does for a human. If the river or creek has psychotic tendencies lives could be lost! The dumping of tons of Xanex(c) or Prozac(c) into psychotic waterways has proven fruitloops, I mean fruitless, and has been banned by the EPA.

Would it be a good thing to do if you find a pot hole in exposed bedrock that is empty to put rocks it in to capture the gold in it? Then go back a year or two later and check on it to see if any gold dropped down in it?
@nicevideomancanada8 жыл бұрын
why waste your time. Just go and find some. buy a metal detector.
@jayman66088 жыл бұрын
doug johnsonj if you willing to put in the effort. You could set it up like that and maybe come back regularly and check it. Truth is after each flood or high water there's a chance it could deposit. However it could also blow the rocks that you put in there out. at which point you wasted your time. and depending on the size of the Rocks you put in there Boulders being the best thing to do they're more likely to kick out the smaller they are. After all they would have not kicked out in the first place.

Plunge pools are great when the water flow is much reduced or zero. Any other time and you might not be getting out. Sorry to be the party-pooper but if they are deeper than you expected then they get very dangerous.
@boneyfreak91975 жыл бұрын
Yeah but face it. The days of 5-10 tOZ potholes are 99.99999% gone, same for waterfall pockets. Last center river pocket I cleared of 3 VW bug size boulders and countless contractor wheelbarrow ones yielded 15 gm for 3 days of very dangerous work 2 weeks ago.
