Thanks for the fantastic feedback there Chris, I try to tell the story as it really happens . If gold was that easy to find we would all be doing it. I have a met a few people on my travels who do not film their adventures but they sure do find some gold but they will have move a lot of dirt to get to it over weeks if not months of painstaking hard graft. Good video matey, really surprised 😮 you never got much on the river I told you about as it’s always gave me a lot an I know the river of the back of my hand . But it been a long time since I’ve been on it so could of been well done but there will be good pockets on it . The higher up you go the less there is . Hello Danny, I think the problem is that you have to dig fair bit and also need a bit of good luck. As for the sniping , it's probably the best place I've seen for bedrock but someone's been there before lol. It's all a learning curve though. Hope you are well buddy.

Another epic video mate and really great to finally meet you hopefully im a bit better next time and up for a bit more digging, i think you are hundred percent on the bedrock areas had been hammered to death theres very little unknown bits thats the problem surely there must be some untouched its a big body of water to cover it all. Its the question tho do you dig deep or trek for miles its a difficult one im with you but a wee shine in your pan and amazing scenery makes it worth while even if the wee vampires are biting lol its cold now they wilk have died away minus at nights last few nights here, lol the outtakes cracked me up and i didnt realise that was the guy that wrote that book lol till the next time friend 😁👍🏴

Hello Simon, I looked out for your van on the M6 north lol, the trouble with sniping for gold is that it wears out the fingers of your gloves in no time. I really enjoyed this trip even if we didn't find a fat lot of gold.

@@SMITHYSKONTIKI I sometimes run a fair few because it cleans it's self down a lot when you go back to filling the next bucket but if you did a clean up every 3 buckets it keeps things interesting for you with different aspects of the process rather than a lot of repetitive actions

I've got a Nosilife (Craghoppers midge hat, they fold up,) Think it was half price at £15 but they have them buy 2 get one free at the moment in shop. was great in Shetland, the holes aren't too big x.. Found a few good spots in Leadhills. need to get back up there :)

I watched a video by the Renagade Scotsman recently , he used a pretty good head mesh with built in goggles. He did the Cape Wrath way in August ! I was a bit disappointed on this trip expecting to find the gold a bit more easier. It must be in pockets or on benches but that takes a lot of trips to learn what's going on Ruth.

Of you go again head to wanlockhead the for the a76. After the camping area as you drive through the valley you will cross a catle grid and from that point of the river it is 100% better. Some really nice gold comes out of that section

It’s not easy Daz. I have been out a few times recently trying unknown spots. I have found gold but not a lot for the work that was put in! You found some nice pieces there. Great camera work as always. Need to get myself a go pro as I just use my phone with a wee tripod!!!⛏🏴

@@ScottishGoldHunter Yes that's a god point pal, if I lived near to Leadhills I would keep working a spot until I had peeled all the layers back to bottom and it's only then that you will start to find the proper gold. It's a labour of love. On these trips you do need a bit of luck and if you take into account flying drones and talking to people plus walking to the locations, half your day has gone. Phones are pretty good these days for video quality but a GoPro is a nice addition to the kit.

I know what you mean. I never used to think about filming but now I do, I sometimes waste a lot of time trying to get enough footage etc rather than actually finding the gold!!!! Will need to get a go pro soon! Was out today. Only for an hour or so but was good to get something!

You have made a good point there too, if you are going to make videos and try to capture everything as it happens then your sluicing time will suffer for sure. On some recent trips out in Wales I can spend hours chatting with folk who come up to me sharing their experiences and stories. You are doing a good job mate and have a nice live narration to your videos so keep it up.
