Part 5 works as a standalone piece. You get a little confused at the beginning about who's DIO and Jotaro and what stands are, but after like episode 4 you're good to go. And that worked perfectly for making JoJo in general so much more popular 2 years ago, people got into it very fast.

There's a very good explanation as to why Araki chose that ending song. It's genius actually. Araki we all know is a huge music fan hence why most of the characters in jojo are named after musicians/songs. Golden Wind first publication started 1995. Same year that Jodeci released Freak'n You. The singers in Jodeci are KC & Jojo ......which of course represents the main protagonist Giorno Giovanna (GioGio=Jojo) and someone else who is also important (KC=??? Which I won't spoil for obvious reasons but those who have seen the series knows)

The only reason why Josuke did not defeat Kira right after the first showdown was because of Cinderella. Also, let me remind you that Josuke defeated Kira's father too. And no, I'm not discrediting Jotaro, he was important in the final battle. All I'm saying is that he was not all that important throughout the whole part. Koichi and Josuke took that spotlight far away from him. There were literally no only-Jotaro-oriented episodes in the entire part. He did not even get a single solo fight, so it annoys me to no end when people say that he's the protagonist of part 4.
