This track helps to make Goldeneye transcendentally incredible. Drama and destiny in one epic piece of music!

The game's soundtrack was also very good. Must admit, though, that I did not like the remake of Goldeneye for Wil, Xbox 360 and PS3! It sucked dick. It also had a Call of Duty feel to it, which I found weird.

I can't understand why this tune was only a minute long. It's an awesome melody! he had the beginnings of something huge here and he just cut it short before it even got started!

Well, it was used twice in the movie and had to be looped during one portion because it wasn't long enough, so there is *some* truth to Archimedes words.

Two major points. Firstly, it's not "a tune", it's a piece of action score... These kinds of scene scores generally aren't supposed to be tunes with a beginning, middle and end for their own sake like a theme or title song, they're just there to enhance the visual story of film. Film-makers don't want their scenes taken over by the music trying to have it's own musical narrative like that unless it's a sweeping epic over long and (particularly) quiet scenes, and those aren't rhythmic action score, they're melodic pieces. The scenes this was used in are not in any way that kind of sweeping scene like riding through a desert for 5 minutes or something. Even then, only the best composers are able to do that really well, like John Williams or John Barry. Goldeneye actually has a couple of such fully developed melodic pieces such as the gorgeous "We Share the Same Passions", which was written for the long and quiet Montecarlo scene. For heavily cut action scenes, film-makers want rhythmic and easily cut and looped background score, which is what this was. Also, there were other pieces written for these scenes including one that wasn't used in the end called "The Scale to Hell", which sounds like it was supposed to be used at the very end on the antenna cradle but they obviously decided to reuse this piece again instead, feeling it worked better. It works within the context of it's purpose, and if you actually watch the archives and finale scenes, they deliberately cut the music to silence at key moments for greater effect and immersion. Trying to score the entire scene for the sake of having a fully fleshed out piece of music for a soundtrack makes no sense to a film-maker. They're making a film, not an album of music. Finally, it may even have actually been a longer piece originally but was never used, cut or published as such, which happens A LOT in putting together soundtrack releases for movies. They often even leave out entire pieces of score from soundtrack releases, and often didn't bother saving stuff that they cut out anyway as it was all on tape not hard drives.
